Easy Origami Rose Video Tutorial

- Learn how to make an easy origami rose with this video tutorial. It's perfect for Valentine's day or as a nice diy decoration. If you don't understand a certain step feel free to ask me in the comments below! This design is by Toshikazu Kawasaki.
Tip: open the center before you wrap the rose. I've been folding roses (and have designed my own as seen in my profile pic) for almost 3 years and I've found this to help. Also, you can flip the model upside down and reinforce those 4 sides that connect to the center square. That will help you when you start wrapping. I crease those very hard. If you notice your roses are kinda not staying together well, then after you wrap it, take your pinkie and put it in the center and rotate your pinkie clockwise and the rose counter clockwise. Keeping that tension with your left hand, you should be able to close it with your right no problem and it'll stay together better.

I would recommend using a different color of paper if you're going to work on a white background. It's difficult to see what's happening, particularly when you start subtly folder the paper around into its circular shape. What you're doing is sometimes out of the camera view. Thanks for the tutorial!
I really found this helpful for my room since I’m trying to decorate it more. Though I *do* recommend changing the background since it’s like the exact same color as the paper and makes it harder to see. Beautiful rose though!

@Andy Origami. First off, thanks, unlike so many roses, this one is both beautiful and reasonably easy to make!
Secondly, as a suggestion. Once you have finished a stage, please take a moment to show the entire rose, so that the viewer can see how the entire thing looks. Just so that we have be sure, that our rose looks the same.

After 4th try i managed to do it right, very bad camera angle, Hands hiding the steps. Its a nice rose! May its worth to re upload it with better angle and different color as the background!

basically you have to make 4 additional creases by taking the flaps that go perpendicular to the square's edges and joining them with each other, one by one

Best video I found! Thank you very much. I used construction paper. I got the spiral part on my third rose, the first two just look very bloomed haha! I thumb tacked them to green pencils and filled a cup. They look great

There is no exact size, as long as it's a square and the size is comfortable to work with

In all honesty this is a really bad tutorial. The camera is too close and I can't see whats happening because of the colour and lack of direction.
