I am Canadian and there is something about the realness of Canadians, that we can recognize almost right away. Welcome home Kiefer. Love your Dad as well, always did. May God bless. Amen.
This comment's a little late, as I am JUST NOW getting the privilege of hearing and seeing this beautiful man playing and singing. I can't be the only one addicted to his guitar playing less than twenty seconds into the song. I love his singing, as well.❤
He is amazing but here in Saskatchewan we honour his whole family. His Grampa Tommy Douglas was a great Canadian and Leader of our Province. The best... glad he is back in Canada!
Lovely to listen to and sad, thinking about a man who has just lost his dad. I lost mine last year and it's a pain that won't go away, so I feel for him. May Donald S. rest in peace.
Sitting here in Australia, just got home from Bali, it's 2am, luggage everywhere, I notice this video, watched it, look at what I was wearing on the plane, my Norms Guitars Tee! Got it from Norm.2 years ago.in LA right where Kiefer was sitting.. Small world! Exhausted, bed time.
I remember seein you at a bar in Sherman Oaks 12 years back or so. Its sad but California is not what it once was. I left and am back for a family event, but will leave once all is finished. The sparkle is gone. Great song Keifer- I miss the OLD Days in the Canyons too buddy
I think we know why he is leaving, its not what it used to be, beautiful song that's how I remember living in Monterey when I lived there as a child....thanks Kiefer and Norm
Kiefer’s dad, the great Donald Sutherland lived in my hometown in Outokumpu Finland when he was very young. Out of all places, he lived there briefly studying something related to mining, it’s an old mining town. 😊😊
I left California almost ten years ago because I was going down a bad path and needed a fresh start. I don’t regret moving at all because it saved my life. The thing I miss most is my family and best friend.
a bad path? a fresh start? Looks like you made it out just in time - the cliche monster was closing in. oh and, 'best friend and family' are two things.

Born in California 1959. Lived there in the absolute best years of California. We had it all! A golden state for sure but no longer. Left in 1996, right move. All democratic states have been destroyed. A shame but signs of the times.
He seems mature and truly likable. Consistently intriguing how creative people who are recognized for their talent in a given field, can cross boundaries and genres and produce output in a variety of domains.
Was a few years ago i watched kiefer sing online , really love his style , voice is insane , it has a resonance that has that factor , unique , listen to his songs a lot now . has passion , you can hear in his voice , id love to see hm if he ever came to australia .
That was really nice of you norm reminding him that he is only a couple hours plane ride away. And about the traffic thing. It help make him feal better about the situation.
I grew up in El Segundo from the 50's to 1978 and it was the best life from playing baseball and all my years of surfing. I now live in Montana and I am loving the beauty of the state. The only unfortunate thing is all the Californian moving up here. George in Montana
The only unfortunate thing is all the Californian's moving up here. Really a shame George. Say again George where you lived in the 50's to 1978? Oh that's right you said California. No further comment George.
@@vayabroder729 yeh your right, it does. Actually I'm in agreement with George, I'm ready to move out. So many people bag on Cali, some of it is the people here today but for sure the politics have fucked this place up!
Very impressive strumming chops. Loved 24 and Designated Survivor. Watched Caine Mutiny last night. Now I need Kiefer fixes. Great actor. Didn't know about his musical talent.
Goodbye California is something I can relate to having lived in an area for around 20-30 years and have lived in many states, a piece of me in a few places. Thanks!
Yes Norm! Cant Wait for the documentary . Normans Rare Guitars is my #1 choice to watch on youtube. Many great guitars and guitarist are gifted to the viewers. Thank you so very much for producing a much watched youtube channel...Michael Lemmo is amazing ive never heard a guitarist master so many different styles, its a joy to listen to a broad spectrum of music 2-4 times a week.
Multi talented, Great son, excellent 👍👍👍👍👍 player. I think that Gibson just went up in value. Stay safe and well and keep Rocking. From Munster Indiana.
Kiefer is clearly in my (approximate) age bracket based on his favorite bands and performers. Nice song, vocals, guitar and conversation. Thanks, Norm & Kiefer!
Occasionally in the LA area to visit family and always love stopping by here to hang, look around, etc. I'm just some unknown guy off the street but each time Norm was so friendly and warm it made me feel special! I love visiting. Haven't purchased anything (yet) from Norm, but we all know he has the best stuff. I'm an East Coast guy and my vintage guitar sources are all out here in the NY/NJ/PA area. But Norm is the King of Vintage in LA!
Funny I thought just the opposite, the guitar was too bright for Kiefer's voice maybe the strings were too light. It just sounded off to my ear. That doesn't mean you're wrong as we all hear things differently.
I MET KEIFER IN BEVERLY HILLS CALIFORNIA.HE’S A VERY NICE GUY! I ALSO LEFT SO CAL TO LIVE HERE IN CARMEL BY THE SEA NOW.IM ALSO DONE WITH HOLLYWOOD,AND SO CAL! RON ROMAN.😎

I enjoyed that tune, really nice. This song can resonate with a lot of people for different reasons. It’s nice when the songwriter shares his thoughts on his or her thought process. And it’s a nice sounding, cool guitar too!
Always liked Kiefer. 24 was a really good series. His comments on professional and social issues always fell on my side of the fence. He's a Good Canadian.
What a beautiful song. I can relate to the feeling of leaving somewhere that you love. For me that is Vancouver B.C. Unfortunately I can't afford to live there.. but I miss it so much beyond words. What's ironic about the situation like Kiefer is that I go out to Vancouver once every two weeks for a client right now.
Definitely on my bucket list to visit Norms guitar shop and meet him. Maybe a famous guitarist might be there then. I AM 64, so my list of guitar heroes is long and quite distinguished!
