- Hello and Welcome to The Passenger Seat Podcast, a podcast designed to fill your passenger seat with a chat about classic cars, all recorded from my 1968 Morris Minor, Peggy.
We're currently on a between-season break, as Peggy is away for restoration! Today we go and visit her now that all the welding is complete! I also, get on with some of the homework I have!

Lovely to see another great update on Peggy. Fantastic resto work so far. When all the rustproofing is completed the bodywork is likely to be even more resilient than when she came our of the factory . After this she will be good for at another 60 years!
That's the hope! He builds rust proofing into his restoration work as well so she really should be set for life 😍

Brilliant. It must be fascinating to see your car down to bare metal and get talked through all the findings. Well done for doing your homework too. I also favour a boilersuit and welly combo. It actually makes you invincible
It really had been brilliant - I'm doing this because of how connected I felt to Peggy, but learning all this has only made that stronger! And yes, it's a brilliant "get stuff done combo" 😂

I'll be talking bills when I get her back and then, because I think it's useful for others to know! But you're absolutely right, it's more than she'd be worth to anyone else 😂
So much progress in such a short time! Peggy will be back before you know it, but much more solid than before!

It really is! I'm hoping this series will show people that if their car has been sat at the restorere for months or even years, it's doesn't have to be that way and they should advocate for their beloved car (and the money they're spending on the restoration)! Yeah should knock a bit off the end bill!
Great set of vids documenting the progress. I'm at a similar stage with my 1961 two door. It would be great to see how the headlining goes back in though, I'm dreading that myself. Lookin forward to the end result 😊

Yeah it's a right pain! I've done the whole restoration myself with a bit of welding help from my dad but the one thing that I've not been looking forward to is that. It's ready to go in but I don't fancy it. Unless you wanna give me a hand😂. When do you think Peggy will be back on the road?

God Becca - when she is fully restored you will only want to take her out in good weather 😅. That's the problem with a full restoration. When you have invested so much money you want to keep the car in A1 condition.
I don't know, I've missed her loads, and already got a lot of plans of places to go! If people spend £30k on a modern fiesta and take it every where, I'm sure I can still have some fun with her when she's cost me less than that! 😂😂
