The only Pink Floyd song that features all five members of Pink Floyd! (Bob Klose does not count, as he only recorded a couple of covers with the band in 65 that were never released for decades.)
I am 63 this year. I was weaned on The Floyd, grew up on The Floyd, obviously still enjoying The Floyd and wish to someday eventually be buried with my entire Floyd vinyl collection. My favorite band from the beginning until now and forever.

This was the first song in my first ever mushroom trip playlist. High school buddies and I drove from Tulsa, OK to the Little Sahara sand dunes and made camp. We watched the sun go down and then the night sky came to life with stars and a full moon. I remember we all thought we were walking on the back of a giant snake because the moonlight illuminated the patterns of tire tracks from the offroad vehicles. We were giants that night and we laughed and cried in equal measure.
@@miasmommy75 2006 and yes, it was a beautiful night. God watched over us. What people claim about their "trips" syncing up is absolutely true. We saw and felt the same things and our thoughts fixated on particular themes. None of us were particularly religious but we prayed together and it felt right.
If one song captured the essence of the psychedelic experience surrounded by people you love, it’s this. Watching all boundaries melt away. Witnessing a glimpse of the Divine in those people.
Ha! I came here to listen to this song because I just read a Jambase article about an old AJAX jingle (stronger than dirt). Listening to the AJAX jingle reminded me of the beat to this song so I came here to compare the 2, but at the end of the article was a clip from the doors Touch Me where at the very end Jim Morrison sings "STRONGER THAN DIRT!" So yeah, I think he'd dig this song.
Why don't everyone appreciate nick mason enough. The drum is just topnotch here. I always thought that it would be much better if pillow of dreams and echoes were in this album. The vibe matches beautifully..
pink floyd gave everyone in the 60s a creative reason for hallucination. this is a space classic.
one of the best Pink Floyd songs ever
How about “Let there be more light” or Careful with that ax, Eugene”? ;) i love this song too
Hmm.... depends what drugs you've been taking, I suppose😂😂
I concur, I drown reality out and find my inner peace
@@danielmansfield3296 i feel that. The song is very mellow and soothing to my soul without taking psychadelics
@@rojasm721 I was mesmerized when I first heard it. The song is itself psychedelic to me.
Another great early song by Pink Floyd that is rarely heard today.
Stuff like this from Floyd probably stopped me from taking drugs. I didn't need them.
You know that you've listened to A Saucerful of Secrets a lot when you expect the intro to Corporal Clegg right when this is done playing.
Yeah, Corporal Clegg definitely rakes you out of your stupor.
This album was so well composed, starts with a jumpy awesome vibe then settles and turns into an experience.
Copy that!

Although I know exactly what you mean I always made my own track selections on those old tapes!😁
So calm and dreamy. Love the enhanced sounds. Now I'm in another dimension. Bliss....
True psychedelic rock
If this one is the only one of their songs where they are in , from this moment it becomes my favourite Floyd' s song 😊
Together "Shine on"
Possibly the best song in the pre-DSotM era. Gotta love the ambience of it.

Bruh, you doing Bob dirty like that is sad
Only one cover song, rest were written by Syd or Roger
No wonder its my favorite

Roger.
It's ironic this is the only track with all the members, given the reason there wasn't more is Syd flew too close to the sun. Shine on Syd!!!!

One of my favorite PF songs ever. Happy Floyd Friday!
the only pink floyd song with both Barret and Gilmore

It's from 1968.

With the way the world is today setting your control's for the heart of the sun seems very tempting
