- Doug Copley's Lineside Images
'Doug Copley's Lineside Images' are 68 titles filmed 1980's, 1990's & 2000's variously 12-90 minutes long. They come with Doug's own commentary and tend to follow lines of route, or particular workings, filmed over multiple return visits.
Doug's videos often include interludes of impressively vocal bird song!
In Alfred Hitchcock (filmmaker) style, Doug occasionally makes brief cameo appearances in his own films.
Doug Copley
Doug gave annual shows to Peak Rail Sheffield Branch. When he died in 2008 his films were kindly made available to the Peak Railway Association by his family so that appreciative enthusiasts can continue to enjoy his work in his memory.
During his working life as a steelworks commissioning engineer he travelled extensively and the collection includes South America, South Africa, India, Turkey (steam), and Australia. The UK collection includes many secondary lines, and also industrial railways. A treasure trove.

The railtour traversed the remaining lines between Hall Lane Jct and Oxcroft Disposal Point, top and tail EWS Class 66 with 7 coaches including one in chocolate and cream, and two in Southern green!
I notice on the old rail atlas that Clowne was originally spelt Clown.
BR re-named the stations in 1951, the Midland station becoming Clowne & Barlborough, and just 30 yards away the LDEC station became Clowne South.
Thankyou Doug for your endless patience in recording these scenes, and your diligence in unearthing the facts to add interesting narrative to your films. They are treasured.

Oxcroft was briefly reopened for roughly 3 weeks in November 2007 in order to sort through any remaining coal tips in the area, although even by that time Seymour Junction Signal box was so badly vandalised that none of the signalling infrastructure could be used, so all points were clamped and all signalling was suspended and the working was done by pilot man
