I made one. Instructions were great & the results were beatiful but had trouble with monofilament being spiraled from being wound on spool. Had to boil to get straight; also it was hard to knot. Had same trouble with macrame cord, I had to steam iron it straight. We plan on giving it to our new granddaughter.
Hello! No reason for the 24 except that it was the perfect number for this mobile. Although you will find that a group of 1000 paper cranes (senbazuru) are very symbolic in Japanese culture. If you haven't already, I'd highly recommend reading the story of "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." I think you might enjoy it!
