Play as an ordinary red fox whose story becomes entwined with the guardian of the Northern Lights, a female spirit fox. As you journey over the mountains and under red-stained skies, you’ll discover more about your companion and land left in ruin.
The game is unique in that it purposefully has no dialog or narrative. Players must breathe in their surroundings to solve various puzzles and speculate the meaning of a lost ancient civilization.

I think it was a bit more than just two fox spirits. Since there was the body of a glowing fox left on one of the pedestals at the end.
It almost seems like the two magical foxes were together in life, but somehow, one of them, the first spirit fox, died before the other. The first spirit fox went to the ice mountain to wait for their mate. The living fox though... Went away, without their mate they seemed to have traveled far away in grief- leaving behind their magic and civilization. And it wasn't until they saw the corruption trail in the sky that they knew they had to go home.
The whole time the living fox had a piece of their spirit fox mate with them to travel far. The civilization they had was built on love, like the people tried to help the spirit fox even when their mate went away but it wouldn't last forever. Eventually so much time passed without the magic that they fell to ruins.
This story was absolutely about being reunited, even in the afterlife. That at the end of it all, when everyone is gone and castles crumble, a feeling will never truly be forgotten.
I will really miss this series...everyone will,but everything must come to and end!

The aurora borealis is called fox fires, perhaps this is why they were used in this way.

I saw that animation, this game’s ending really gave the vibes that Fox Fires did and I’m living for it.

As for the story, I think that your interpretation was the correct one: two spirit mates who got separated or cursed which caused the corruption to take root until the reincarnation of the original mate find their way home.

The end is spectacular. In my opinion, the story went like this: Once it was all right and people loved that guardian of the Northern Lights. One day corruption came among men and corruption led them to ruin. Then I noticed a ' another fox and in my opinion he was the guardian of the Northern Lights who previously lived all our adventures, but arrived at the place he realized that he needed someone else and so he chose us to save the world. the graphics are also well done.
This is the final :( I'm gonna miss this series. It was brilliant! Thanks for making it seri!

FYI I started calling the male fox (the one you play) Iskall which is Swedish for ice cold and the female fox Elska which is Icelandic for love...
Though I toyed with Bryndis for the female and Sael for the male...
(Note: yes I watch Hermitcraft. Not ashamed to name the male fox what I did)

This spirt realm is so beautiful, I wonder if the spirt fox always knew our fox would die, and was guiding you to become their successor.. or at least an apprentice
I loved this! It reminded me of Lost Ember but also The First Tree just without any in-game narration. A beautiful, rich story told by just exploring the world and letting your imagination run with whatever it comes across.

Seri, I have a challenge for you on Spore, I call it Tiny Terrors.
You must start as a cell and become a creature similar to any species of insect, and also act like them. Here are some insect ideas:
Carnivore: Spider (could stick to a territory it could hunt in which would be it's "web".) Praying Mantis (which would strike very suddenly and then bite constantly.)
Omnivore: Hornet (which would be solitary in exploring but would be physically very strong in attack and defense.) Ant (which could be basically the opposite of hornet, weak but works in numbers)
Herbivore: Moth (would only eat, explore and mate at night.) Rhinoceros/Stag beetle (Look very imposing but are terrible attackers).
If you read this Seri, could you either reply or heart this comment so I know? I'd love to see this challenge as I don't own spore myself.

I bought this game without much thought, and I was surprised by the much larger world than I thought. And this game is a huge challenge for the road-torn! Thanks to your video, I got a lot of help. I felt thrilled when I walked out into the sky at the end. It's a great game.

My theory is that you/the fox you play as and the Spirit Fox are actually mates but when the spirit had to move on they had to separate, but when the Fox you play as dies, you get to move on to the afterlife with the Spirit Fox and restore the love you two had for each other.

I just beat the game about an hour or two maybe three hours ago. It made me cry so bad. I'm a guy who does his best to keep his emotions in check but this game. It broke me. But I think it broke me in a good way. But the feelz. "The Feelz Waz Realz". I enjoyed the game aside from getting frustrated a little. But I do not know if I can return right now. This game hit me hard.

I knew it had to do with the northern lights. Two foxes one a spirit fox people worshiping the foxes. It was because the northern lights went away because of the missing fox that caused the corruption and this was the journey of the fox returning to bring back the northern lights 🦊🦊🐾

This is just a bit like sky, children of the light and I absolutely love it
I love. Spirit of the north i also completed the whole game without any help but i missed a few spirits so am tring to find them all and if u press the + it shows options settings and rewards the rewards are the fox skin there is the defualt one and the second one u have to go back to chapter 1 and u can turn around and run to a path which leads to the first staff then continue down the path and u see the spirit body then u go out of that area and continue in the first tower you will see a second staff and once u pick it up its already lighten up bc the spirit body is close go outside of the tower then u can see a stone and the body is sitting in front of a stone its not that hard and my next comment i will explain how to get the 3rd fox skin i havent got the other two yet so i'm tryin to find thise last 2 skin 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊 and thank u for reading :)

Wow this series was amazing! So beautiful and magical!
Theory: there where two foxes (that are mates) that wanted to light up the night sky for all the people in the land so they made a statue of them together and laid down become the first ever spirit foxes. But then something happened to one of the foxes body so the other fox was overwhelmed in grief making the statue split open (because they were split apart) So he found you another young fox, he wasn't so sure teaching you to be a spirit fox was a good idea but he wanted to end the evil plants so he taught you anyway and as the journey goes on he starts to lime you more and more than at the end your relationship with him grew so much that he loved again ending the evil. That's my theory.
What I think happened in the story is the original Spirit Fox was the spirit of the north. they lived up on that mountain where you took away the corruption but they weren't able to protect the land on their own. so instead of a Force for good it turned into the corruption. so she came and found you and brought you on a journey to become another Spirit of the north and protect the mountain together. personally that's what I think happened.
So sad that this beautiful, amazing series had to come to an end, really it's just very sad its done. This game is certainly amazing and I hope this company makes more amazing games like this one! Perhaps with wolves? Wow this game is amazing and I love it! So beautiful and just wow. I'm amazed and just stunned by this. Good job. Please make more games, if you're reading this, Infuse Studios!

My mind can't help but think that the other fox, the spirit fox was the mate of the red fox. In episode 1, I think the spirit fox actually recognized us and that was why it helped us. Maybe it returned to its old body in this episode. But who knows ??? I will miss this series, but I'm excited for the next one.

I got a theory
the corruption is a fox who was either best friends / siblings with the spirit fox.
the spirit fox betrayed the corruption fox in some way and to take revenge, the corruption fox sent the corruption and stuff to the place the spirit fox was trying to protect in an attempt to destroy the world and the spirit fox. Oh and also I think the character seri plays was mates with the spirit fox and they got separated which unleashed the corruption fox :>

Okay this is my next comment to get the 3rd fox skin is in chapter 3 u explore the map then u see a staff then explore more and you'll see a body u might have not found yet u put the staff down and then it will see how many spirits u have freeed then the locked fox skin will reveal then you will get the 3rd fox skin and YOU FINALLY GOT TO FLY and the beautilfull auroas is the northan lights

The northern lights was made form the spirit fox well that’s the type of story i heard and all the other animals became the constitution’s (the stars in forms) but he was shy and was left but the wizard made him the spirit fox.

My theory is that the two foxes might be mates, but there is this yin yang sort of situation between them.
So one of the foxes might of died, bringing an imbalance between the blue and red forces.
Then the spirit of the deceased fox traveled up north to find another fox to restore the balance.
I think the red stuff is the essence of corruption, and blue is the essence if purity.
This would explain the appearance of all this shaman people, as they would try to rebalance things themselves.
I think the people knew about the two foxes, so if one dissapeared they'd definetely take notice and try to fix it.
Anyway, while the spirit tries to find another fox, the imbalance causes the mountain to spew out only corruption, not destroying the land but changing it.
Corruption is dangerous to those without Purity (Hence the fox weakening before they're infused with the spirit), and Purity is dangerous to thise with corruption.
So with a balance between the two all is fine, but it is a very fragile line between Purity and Corruption, Normality.
Anyway, that's my take on the story! I hope you enjoyed reading this!

Maybe the fox had left leaving the space empty and the other fox sleeping on the mountain alone, the separation caused great imbalance which causes chaos and distortion and the journey was about returning to that balance. The mates remind me of yin and yang or feminine and masculine and how we all need to balance within to find peace , just a theory. The ending was beautiful and so was the whole journey.
