This is amazeballs, but I must admit searching for magic, learning the healing spells, and discovering new lands appeals to me more than the combat side. This might seem like a weird question, but I thought about this the other day and the time frame you mentioned in the RPG. This land has no churches and no graveyards at all, right? This would be a very unique feature.

The ghostly glow of the moon is not creepy. No specters dwell within the moonbeams. The forest that sleeps peacefully at night is not creepy. It is these man made things not found in nature that are chilling.
