One of my favorite episodes...so the "nonsense game" was actually a brain teaser game/riddles. So it makes sense in Korean and some will actually make sense in English too. Like the oil question makes sense in Korean, because oil in Korean would translate into 5day. The loin soup question makes sense in both Korean and English because the answer was king of all soups and the loin is a king in the animal kingdom....haha

The nonsense game was fun, they were more on sounds like words and wordplay in Korean so we wouldn't really get it much. The next episode is iconic.

MC Jin always elevates Run BTS

So, the answers for the nonsense quiz were a play on words. A lot of the answers, which are in Korean, have similar sounding words. Like syrup 시럽 (pronounced sirop) and unemployment 실업 (also pronounced sirop).

The nonsense game is basically what we would call riddles

  • @mrs.kalimi3298

5 days is pronounced as O-NAL in Korean, 'O' being '5' and 'Nal' being 'days' and 'ONAL' also means 'today'....if that makes sense...
The nonsense questions are mostly play on words in Korean which makes it difficult for a non-speaker to understand from the subtitles.
I had the same problem when I joined the fandom, but having watched too much bangtan content and k-dramas, now I can understand some word puns.

The nonsense games are more on korean wordplays.. like the word 5 days (오 일) in korean is pronounced like o il . So thats why thats the answer 😂

I don't even think we can elevate the Nonsense Game to "riddles" They should have called it Dad Joke Game instead. It's all corny puns. 😂

Most of the times you won't get the games because they are in korean..I mean the play on words and stuff won't make sense to you just from their literal translations

Great episode. One of my favorites. Thank you darlings for the wonderful reaction!💞 And guys, don't worry so much that you don't understand their answers in the Nonsense Game. Everyone who doesn't know Korean doesn't understand.😅 The game is built on answering with a similar-sounding word to match the answer. How, for example, would the answer in English be ---- Large area with arid weather? - Dessert. The sound of the words is similar but the meaning is nonsense. And other questions that are relevant in every language, but we who do not know Korean, alas, cannot understand.😬 But chaotic BTS are always fun to watch, even though some of the Q&As I didn't understand.😁💗

17:28 these are actually logical answers brain twisters. You have to be familiar with hangul/korean language and basic letter sounds to get the riddles and idioms in the game.. which plays with homonyms & phonemics

Love me some puns. Korean has so many... Sino-Korean numbers help a lot. The word for "two" is the same as the word for "this" (and"tooth"), and it's also a subject particle and a common last name.
One of the challenges of learning Korean is definitely that so many words sound alike, even to Koreans. 🤣
