    but if the requirement is you can only touch one coin, can't you just rearrange as many coins with only touching that coin? lol

    Interesting. I know a lot of coin puzzles that would consider this cheating as "you technically pushed 8 coins", so I guess wording is important.

    • @ThePsho
      @ThePsho 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I was thinking the same thing. You could theoretically use one coin to push all of the coins individually into any position you wanted.

    • @joeybaseball7352

      The key words are "rearrange" and "touch." Rearranging suggests moving and pushing is encouraged. And he could only physically touch two coins. He said nothing about the coins touching themselves.

    • @Maninawig
      @Maninawig 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@joeybaseball7352 as I said, wording is important. Some challenges require more finesse to gain an elegant solution, so making sure you distinguish the two with proper wording would avoid a fight.

      I used to watch this in the 1970’s when I was young, it was my favourite show. It aired in Australia from 1972 to 1990, although the format changed a bit in 1980.

    By that definition of "touch" you could just grab any two coins and use them as a claw to grab and move as many others as you want... Probably would have worked better with a more specific problem statement...

    TH-cam recommended me this, and I gotta say I'm very glad it did. This show is awesome, too bad I didn't knew about this amazing show until today.
    I'll do some of the tricks and show them to my family asap.

    These days, for the dark coin you’d have to use a dollar instead of the now-defunct 2¢ piece.

    Well if you can just scoot the coins using another coin, you might as well take as long as you like, pushing all the coins around as slow as you like

  • @hindsight_is_2020
    @hindsight_is_2020 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Well if you can push coins all over the place , then I only have to touch one coin to push every other coin anywhere I want on the table ! 👎🙄
