My favorite aqua allegorias are Ginger and Nettare di Sole. I just bought the limited edition harvest Neroli Vetiver and Mandarin Basilic, I love honey scents 🍯
@@tolikfox007 so it’s quite different from the original. It’s not laundry, it’s has a very prominent honey note. I enjoy it bc I’m a collector and it’s LE, and applaud Guerlain for going in this direction. It came in a recyclable sleeve, no box. But I think the honey note is challenging
For me, it's the supporting notes that make this an exceptional citrus fragrance. To my nose, the actual 'grapefruit' material is the same as the one used in many designer grapefruit openings and even flavoured candy. 😄 Not kidding. But craftsmanship counts, and Guerlain still seems to have it in spades. For now. 😐
I've not smelled the older version, but your description is exactly how I experience the current version! This is possibly my favorite citrus fragrance of all time and it lasts far longer than I expected it too. Cheers, Cherie!
My Mom has the old version and I always loved spritzing some when I visited her. I recently bought my own and the newer bottle and honestly, I can't tell a difference. I think I will have to go to my Moms and compare but I will say it lasts longer than Bergamote Calabria, oh my gosh I have almost gone through half that bottle this last month as It doesn't seem to last an hour. Those are the only Aqua Allegorias I one and I probably won't try more because I'm not so interested in such light perfumes especially for the prices. They do smell great while they last. oxJulia
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I’ve had a bottle of this for the longest time and never knew that I had the reformulation. 😅 The new formulation, to me, doesn’t seem to have the green nuances you’ve described. It smells like slightly artificial pink fruit juice sitting beside a bowl of powdered sugar and you can smell both of them together. It gives a lovely texture but the sweetness is a bit much for me. This version might have been the one that TH-camrs were raving about a several years ago.
Hello Cherie, I do have this in the newer formula and I like to spritz it on hot days for an energizing pick me up. Not long lasting, as one would expect with citrus. I still really enjoy it for what it is.
Hi Cherie ❤ to my nose Guerlain‘s citruses are the best out there 😊

I've been eyeing the nerolia vetiver harvest. Does it smell detergent like due to the neroli?

I have the current version and I really like it! My only acqua allegoria. I remember when this line came out in the late nineties!

💯 it’s a classy one! I think that green tangy element is what makes it for me 😉

Would be certainly very interesting to know your thoughts contrasting it with the newer version
I will try to get a sample of the newer one!
This is my favourite Aqua Alegoria, so now I like you even more for liking it 😅
Haha happy to oblige!😂
I love the opening of Pamplelune but just wish it lasted longer. When it dries down I found it to be too earthy for my taste. Great review! 🙂

You are so eloquent in your descriptions Cherie! Great review, I must swing by DJs for a sniff😊
Thank you!

Ah, very possibly. What you describe sounds very similar to my friend’s experience with the newer version.
I have the current version and forget to wear it also. It’s extremely hot now so I think I’ll bring it out this week.
Super review with Great fragrance. We appreciate your hard work. All the best,
thank you!
Thank you lovely Cherie

Hi Jenn, 100% it is fantastic for what it is :)
Your review made me want to try my sample of Montebacco Verano by Ormonde Jayne this morning..sounds not too dissimilar,Cherie.xx
I love that one!
My first ever aqua allegoria love ❤. Lasts so little 😔Now I fell in love with Florabloom.
oooh thanks for the hot tip, I will have to go check it out! Looking at the notes it seems it might be something I would enjoy :)
I almost bought it yesterday but I went with Orange Soleia instead. The dry down of this one was weirdly sharp and woody on me… 🙃
