just had to be there for the lo fi house craze here 7-10 years ago, was sick times! Got some amazing Djs and producers from it, still heavy weights to this day.
I'm 50 this year. Lo-fi house started in Detroit in 86, conquered Germany, the land of musicians, and Brazil, the land of dancers, and therefore will never die.
For those who doesn't know, the bizarre video cosplay dancers are a popular group called 'Carreta Furacão' in Brazil. There are many of them in difference places across the country. They come to our cities when there's children friendly events. The big cheek one is the most famous one, and he's called 'Fofão'. He used to scare many of us when we were young kkkkk
A salute to those who see it in 2050, to those who feel nostalgic enjoying watching some cosplayers running at night to the rhythm of the music that sounded from the float. Time is an illusion and you are always in time to enjoy as they do.
This in the movie is Carreta Furacão, which was in various cities in the interior of São Paulo, Brazil. Very funny, today no longer exists because they were sued for copyright of the characters ...
You know, I have anxiety. And this idea of running around the streets with a costume surrounded by people who have no idea who you are might sound like a dream come true to me. I would imagine myself being more happier.
There's an entire 3 day cultural event in my city called "Cavalhadas" (also in Brazil) that consists in the recreation of a knight battle between a kingdom and the Christian church. To represent the plebeians, people can go dressed with masks and all sort of different costumes like in the video. It is almost extacly like the video, only the streets are full of masked people. As a person who has extreme social anxiety, I really enjoy getting drunk, dancing and going around mocking people in the streets without getting recognized hahaba
This video makes me realize how much I desire having more creative and weird ass friends who aren’t afraid to look strange in the pursuit of having fun with each other.
Genuinely curious to know if you ever at all felt unsafe there while visiting. I’m so eager to go but just so tentative because of the history the country has with crime :/

I know they’re amazing aren’t they! I believe they’re part of an organised tour group in Brazil that brings mostly kids but adults also on bus tours of parts of the city, what city I don’t know, and they dance on the roads and the streets and put on a show for the people who ride along in the bus. I saw an interview with the dancers and they are mostly young men but are super fit. They go perfectly with this song, I hope they’ve seen this.
The melody reminds me of my years as a uni students living the entirety of a good nightlife with my friends. Great times and adventures discovering new places and making friends. Uni life is truly the best if you have a few good friends and mood for fun. Not just parties and stuff.
