Hi, great to see someone talking about Jacques Tati. I'm as you a big fan of his work. His oevre is perfectly formed. Just five movies, each of them unique in its own way. I couldn't decide which one is my favourite, although I especially like his portrayal of the "old France" as shown in Jour de Fêtes, Les Vacances ... and parts of Mon Oncle. But of course the restaurant scene in Playtime is a classic too.
I love hearing from people who love him too! Truly one of the best and so underrated. I totally agree about his portrayal of “old France”. I have a stylized drawing I bought from an artist on Etsy of his apartment house in Mon Oncle because that’s the house that has warmth and charm, the opposite of the modern house. It’s hanging in my living room, and it makes me happy every time I see it. Thank you for watching! 💚
@@ThreeCedarsASMR Yes this house is very unique. In particular the route he has to follow to reach his "penthouse" apartment. But I wouldn't wanna have to carry a large piece of furniture up there.
