What do you think of having brass inserts in the barrel also what density of timber is ideal to make barrels??

Stick to dense woods just because of water absorption, unless you seal the wood really well. Remember any insert has the effect of sound waves. The more rough it is (wood) the more it can help cancel out the fast vibrations and thus give a better tone. Cannonball saxes and their 2 necks with one scrubbed is a good example. Early Selmer sax necks are hand hammered and the mandrel is not perfectly flat if one inspects the inside of the neck. I would expect, but never tested if a highly polished insert is "brighter" than a roughened insert with a darker fully tone mpc and player. But I've never tested that concept.

Thank you for the video! What size drill bit/ reamers/etc do you use?

Basic reamers I got from Ferrees Musical Instrument Tools. You have to adjust them. The upper socket is different from the lower socket. But I also had some custom made ones from a local tool company that made reamers. The bore was a smaller drill bit and I had reamed it (bore hand reamer tools from Ferree's too and other places). Them I can adjust it for the exact taper or cylindrical I wanted. Also other custom adjustable reamer tools.
