@@Maggpiee I mainly play basketball and also watch some football and after watching heaps of basketball which is a more 3d sport as it has height that is dribbling, I realised that for football, pretty much changing directions or faking direction changes is the best way to throw off defenders
Yh I play for a professional club I’m a defender but when I do get the ball, rarely, if the striker or sometimes even midfielder presses against me, I use croquette But that’s only rarely since I’m a defender

I would suggest keep your eyes totally on the ball and not on the player's legs or body. You can counter most dribbling skills this way
