I love the game. I love your content. It hurts watching the person who could actually be the "face of Shop Titans" say goodbye the game. I learned a lot from you. Of course I'll miss you. We all will. I can only hope for the best for you and your family.

I've been greatly appreciative of all of your content revolving around Shop Titans, but this might be one of the best videos yet. Glad you're looking forward to being more present with the people that mean the most in life. I know we've all been apart of the family in some way, but watching your kids grow will be something far more exciting than watching this channel grow. Best of luck!

totally respect and understand you here... gaming sometimes takes away much important time. But to be honest, that's the reason why I switched to a game like Shop Titans and stepped away from MMO/MOBA games. Because I log into Shop Titans 5-10 times a day and spend a couple of minutes whenever I have time and want to . ST is one of the more active play idles since only crafting and quests actually run logged out. Selling is the hard part and takes too much time sometimes

I think having 3 kids at 30 is simply incredible. I've grown tons personally in this period and I'm glad that you and ST have been a part of it. Good luck with the next chapter, and it's been enjoyable watching you and playing this game.

Your content made my Shop Titans so much easier. Of course i've had to use other websites for certain information, but most of what i wanted to know to improve in the game was by your SUPER WELL EXPLAINED videos. I just restarted a new account and invested some money in it, and i really appreciate everything you've made. I wish i could have known you back when you were active in the game, because you sound like an amazing human being. Hope all is well with you and your family. Wish you the best!

Rob, I'm a newcomer to your channel but immediately related to it. Many years ago I got hooked on a different game (Runescape) and struggled to get away from it - maxed out character on everything and literally had to go "cold turkey" or it would have taken over. It worked, I escaped to smell the roses. I understand exactly where you are at and knowing this yourself and doing something about it is hard but also the right thing to do. I am still going through your videos and enjoying them very much. You have a massive fan base and rightly so. Before I leave a comment I am going to throw something else out there for you to consider ...... have you ever thought about being a motivational speaker ? The way you analyse the game and life in general is something that others can easily latch on to and understand. That is a gift you have and perhaps something to consider :)
Rob, good luck in the future and thanks again for all the insights you have shared.

I only discovered the game a couple months ago and discovered your channel maybe a month ago. I have seen many youtubers for many different games quit and many different fashions, and I have to say it's very inspiring and heartwarming to see a content creator go the extra mile to talk to and explain to their community why they are quitting. I feel like so many content creators hit a breaking point and their community is often left wondering what happened and maybe get a hurried video explaining why they quit. Thank you for your content and thank you for being such a great creator and leader to your fans and community.

Hope you enjoy the next phase of your life Rob. I have 3 kids, and was pretty active raider in a high level guild in WoW before kids. I had to do the same "walk away" from the game when the kids were old enough that me playing games just didn't make sense any more. My kids are 15, 13, 11 now and it's SO different now. I personally found (and you likely will also) that as the kids got older and were able to play game, that we returned to gaming together. I'm not one of those people that think kids playing games is bad - I think it's amazing for their barins - when the games are right, and when they are moderated. A game like shop titans is a perfect example, constant puzzle solving and optimizing and creativity and even math. That's a GOOD thing for a kid. So when your kids get older, I have a feeling you'll follow the same path, and start gaming a little more again with your kids. The key is that it needs to happen when gaming becomes a bonding thing with the family, and isn't a "daddy is detaching from the family". Once you hit that stage, you'll find that gaming with your kids is a very positive experience.
The only thing that you said in this video that I really believe that you'll see differently as you get older is the whole "I need to grow up" thing. At one point in my 20s my mother asked me when I was going to grow up and stop gaming. Well, I'm 42 now and I don't think growing up has anything to do with gaming. I think if anything the "growing up" is the putting your family before yourself thing - and you are doing that, so you're clearly already grown up. But I know for a fact that I personally will be gaming until I die. In fact, gaming has been shown to stave off Alzheimer's.
Good luck in the future, from a fellow Canuck.

I started watching you about a week ago and its sad but understanding to see ya go... Life changes and I think everyone will understand your choices. One thing you could always think about in the future is finding that healthy way of balancing both real life and video games like any other hobby. Content creating does make it much more than a hobby, so I get the stress on that front, but maybe take a nice break from video games for like a year or two, and maybe bring your kids into the world of gaming, and make it a family thing! Teach them how to balance their responsibility time with their fun time, and maybe gaming would feel better for you in the future! A great tip for your children, is to really teach that importance of responsibility time and fun time so try and get that down! Best of luck man and lots of credit for starting and working so hard on a nice channel and a great community!

*That moment when you finally accept what you learned from your trip* 😂. You're a real one brother, much love. I fully resonate with everything you're saying. In regards to the content creator partnership, it's a downright disappointment that Kabam are the ones to trademark this IP. I've been aware of their formula since 2013, when they bought an indie game called "Realm of the Mad God". They didn't add any content for years and continued to milk the players until they sold it to a better team. It seems as if history is repeating itself, so you jumped ship at the right time. I too grew up on Runescape. Again brother, much love to you and I wish you the best. Stay forever youthful ❤

I understand your decision Rob something similar happened to me before when real life was more important than a game and at that time i thought i would drop to play. Luckily( i guess) was for some weeks. But if something important will come i will stop to play as well. Bc real life is first. Now my gameplay is kinda low bc i has a job and need to continue my degree. Are very good chances to stop to play as well. Until then i will have some fun with farming gems and spending them is bad things (chests.... Uhhh i will never open other chest with gems again). I hope your life will be good in future and maybe comeback with other games or clips what require very small time =)

  • @MrTehPuppy
    @MrTehPuppy 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not trying to put words in your mouth but I think what you're trying to say is, playing video games is a hobby that you're having a hard time keeping in check so that you are also still mentally/emotionally/physically present with your family. You're stepping away because you feel that playing this game is a borderline unhealthy addiction for you. Is that about right or am I misunderstanding still?
Personally, nothing but respect for you and your decisions. I was in a similar situation when I was younger. Actually damn near identical, but just with a different video game. Did the TH-cam thing, was somewhat popular in that game's YT community at the time, found that playing the game and creating content was something I over focused on, rather than paying attention to my wife and four kids. Each person's life experience is gong to be different, but if I can pass on anything that I've learned from my own experiences, it's to maybe don't think about giving up all of it as a whole. But just start to view it as just a very passive hobby that lets you fill your own metaphorical dopamine cup. You cannot pour from an empty cup. Relationships will suffer when folks try to pour from an empty cup. It tends to build resentment which erodes at the relationship over time. But as with all things, recognizing moderation is of the upmost importance as well. Moderating how much time we spend on our hobbies is vitally important to prevent them from becoming addictions/obsessions.
I hope and pray that you find the changes you're making in your life currently to be changes that truly make you happy. Take care my dude

No tablet game will keep a player forever. In fact, focusing too much, as is required for making videos, is part of the challenge.
Valuing other parts of life more than streaming or even gaming (which I have been in for longer than many here have been alive) is very important. That is especially true when children are involved.
Focus on what is proper, though watch that bitterness doesn't get or stay in. Sometimes things do really betray us, sometimes we perceive betrayal that really wasn't there. Knowing the difference can be challenging, but letting it go is far more important, even if it is intended and the worst.
I could speak a lot to the latter, but that would be outside the scope of this video and comment.
