I couldn’t stop laughing this entire video, it was PERFECT. Asking the supermarkets while trying not to die of laughter at the absurd request, the couch setting, the actual cakes (especially the ralph’s one), and just the whole thing overall made me laugh so hard. The editing was magnificent and the little buildups of suspense made the whole thing exhilarating. 11/10, i cannot wait for more candid competition!

Former grocery cake decorator here! I'm not surprised at these results. Copywrite fines are huge for grocery stores (read:big company can afford them) and often result in decorators losing their jobs. They are also often the only decorator and in charge of more than just cakes. It is a really stressful position and custom cakes like this take a lot longer to make.

can confirm the copyright thing i used to work in a walmart bakery (not cake decorator but i had to take cake orders) our management was super strict about what we could and couldn’t accept. i’m honestly surprised the walmart even accepted the order

Totally! I worked at store bakery. The cake decorator was a heavy smoker who tried her best but was definitely not trained to do it. She just got stuck with it.
This was a total and complete gem! Soooooo many great quotable moments, Miles making a comeback, Keith coming in with his no-fucks-given attitude and the whole network change of direction segment, the Keith voice over for the ad, the dreaded couch video reference, the complete lack of reaction from the employees as you're describing the cake you want and everyone fighting laughter in the background, then being trolled by the "Hi..." cake with only writing on it. Love it! One of the best vids of yours I've seen in a while. Great start to the comeback of Candid Competition!

I'm having a hard time coping with how you all managed to reel it in with the form, while also making it more unhinged than it ever was. The adroll made me laugh but also cry from sheer emotion at how stupidly on brand for the whole production, like, not crying from laughter, but laughing and also moved by how much fun I was having. I also have the biggest soft spot for Zach's creativity with the scripted parts. I'm thrilled this is back, I hope y'all get a ton of views and engagement so we get more.

That was the hardest i have laughed at a try guys video i think ever in all of my 6 years watching their content. I normally dont watch the candid competitions because watching anything scripted makes me wanna die from cringe and i know thats a big part of candid so i normally avoid it like the plauge. But i decided to watch this one to support zach bc he talks a lot about how much this series means to him on the podcast. And im so glad i did this was hysterical i will probably watch it over and over again. The editors did fantastic and rachel's scenes were amazing.
I love everything about Candid Competition. The concept, the team, the approach, the respect to not get people fired, the cinematic pieces at the start and end. It's all so Zach.

I couldn’t stop laughing this entire video, it was PERFECT. Asking the supermarkets while trying not to die of laughter at the absurd request, the couch setting, the actual cakes (especially the ralph’s one), and just the whole thing overall made me laugh so hard. The editing was magnificent and the little buildups of suspense made the whole thing exhilarating. 11/10, i cannot wait for more candid competition!

Former grocery cake decorator here! I'm not surprised at these results. Copywrite fines are huge for grocery stores (read:big company can afford them) and often result in decorators losing their jobs. They are also often the only decorator and in charge of more than just cakes. It is a really stressful position and custom cakes like this take a lot longer to make.

can confirm the copyright thing i used to work in a walmart bakery (not cake decorator but i had to take cake orders) our management was super strict about what we could and couldn’t accept. i’m honestly surprised the walmart even accepted the order

Totally! I worked at store bakery. The cake decorator was a heavy smoker who tried her best but was definitely not trained to do it. She just got stuck with it.
This was a total and complete gem! Soooooo many great quotable moments, Miles making a comeback, Keith coming in with his no-fucks-given attitude and the whole network change of direction segment, the Keith voice over for the ad, the dreaded couch video reference, the complete lack of reaction from the employees as you're describing the cake you want and everyone fighting laughter in the background, then being trolled by the "Hi..." cake with only writing on it. Love it! One of the best vids of yours I've seen in a while. Great start to the comeback of Candid Competition!

I'm having a hard time coping with how you all managed to reel it in with the form, while also making it more unhinged than it ever was. The adroll made me laugh but also cry from sheer emotion at how stupidly on brand for the whole production, like, not crying from laughter, but laughing and also moved by how much fun I was having. I also have the biggest soft spot for Zach's creativity with the scripted parts. I'm thrilled this is back, I hope y'all get a ton of views and engagement so we get more.

That was the hardest i have laughed at a try guys video i think ever in all of my 6 years watching their content. I normally dont watch the candid competitions because watching anything scripted makes me wanna die from cringe and i know thats a big part of candid so i normally avoid it like the plauge. But i decided to watch this one to support zach bc he talks a lot about how much this series means to him on the podcast. And im so glad i did this was hysterical i will probably watch it over and over again. The editors did fantastic and rachel's scenes were amazing.
