I am so glad you are teaching your kids how to budget. A lot of parent's don't. That's how people end up mismanaging their money and not knowing how to properly buy groceries or pay bills.
I bought a 20# turkey at $.59lb, $12. I made my traditional Thanksgiving meal and then made individual meals from the leftovers like TV dinners. Had enough turkey left to make 3 casseroles, hot turkey sandwiches with the gravy I made and a huge pot of soup!! Plus extra broth!! That $12 bird gave me 41 meals!! I had 20 other meals already in my freezer so that gave me 61 dinners, cooked and ready to reheat. I'm set till Feb. That will lower my monthly grocery cost so with the extra I can restock my pantry. Your 12 bags of chicken--each bag makes a meal of 5-6 servings. 5 × 12=60 or 6×12=72. Thats a lot of meals in my freezer!! Guess I need to join Sams!! I have $100 monthly grocery budget and its finding ideas like this that let me eat well and stay in budget. Thanks Brooke for sharing. You are a blessing. Hugs💕
congratulations on your weight loss. I went from 350 lbs to 180 lbs in a little over 4 years. It was so awesome when I went from wearing 4x size clothing down to a large. I try to shop like that when I can and since it is just me, food tends to last a while when I stock up. I can get cold chickens here and since they are so cheap I buy 3 at a time. That lasts me forever
I absolutely love the rotisserie chickens because I debone them as well and freeze the meat and you are absolutely right. It is so much cheaper and you don’t have to put the work into putting your stove on and cooking it.! Many blessings to you and your family thank you for all you do for us in sharing these videos and the hard work you put into them ❤️ I also love how you do everything as a family.❤️🥰
I started doing that with the whole chickens also. I am a disabled mama to 3. I prep them when I am feeling well and freeze. On a day I am struggling I know I always have a protein to have a quick meal to feed them with.
@@Shellbell75x single disabled mama of 5(blended family) 2 minors still at home. I do the same. It’s such a blessing to have a protein to pair with something that I know they’ll eat. Making broth with the bones also helps me when I can’t eat or keep down food. We got this mama!!! Sending my love to you and yours ❤️❤️❤️
Yes!!! $15 for the jacket!!! As a mother, I have jeans and shirts as old as my oldest that I still wear! Because I make sure all three of our kids have the things they need first! My husband and I both have clothes that we’ve had since before our 15 year old was born! Literally, shame shame shame on her!!!
Loved the video! I found at Walmart that they have the rotissery chicken at $2.97 when you purchase it cold. It's probably only a day old but that's a great savings! Congratulations on the weight loss!!!!
I have the same with rotisserie chickens. I also started buying clearance ground beef and fry it all up. Put it in 1 lb bags in the freezer. Ready to go. Tacos, burritos,
16:56 To save money this December, I told my mother I would be happy if my Christmas present would packing a picnic lunch and going for a drive on Christmas using food I got from the food bank. I saved money for gifts by shopping at Dollar Tree and participating in a free ornament making party and a free wreath making party at church.
So glad to see the ground beef tri - pack back at Costco. For some reason the Costcos in our area stopped carrying them and tried selling smaller packs of a different brand. We like the 1.34 packs. There is only 3 of us, but the 1 pound packs were not enough. Someone was always looking for more meat at the end of a meal. I don't mind paying a little extra per pound, because I can just cut the packs apart and freeze each chunk. The time it saves me is well worth the $ compared to the hassle of dividing up the meat myself and putting it in freezer ziplok bags. Saved me so much time.
That's so hilarious I can relate with 😂 . My 9 year old Dillon does the same thing with prices. He saw something for $10 and said "ten dollars, I'm not paying that!" Lmao 🤣🎉. But he doesn't say that when he wants a Roblox card. Lol.
I do the same thing with Sam’s club chicken. I’m out right now. Hopefully I’ll restock the chicken in my freezer next week. It’s just so convenient. I find that it is more difficult to breakdown a cold chicken It’s easier for me to do when they are warm
Yes to all the Chicken issues. I shop Sam's and same there . My Sam's Membership over 20 years and it pays for itself and more every year. I'm sure you will say the same thing about your Costco Membership.😅 Thanks for this as it was funhoing with all of you.
I do the same thing, with the rotisserie chicken, we have a Sam's club membership , $4.99. If they have any while I'm there; I buy at least 5, dinner that night, chicken pot pie, a day or 2 later. the rest gets canned, woot woot
Grocery Stores put aside and sell cold cooked chickens (rotisserie and fried) so those with food stamps can purchase. You are unable to purchase warm/hot food with food stamps. I worked at two grocery stores.
Congrats on your weight loss. I love full turkeys/chickens. They are so economical. I have no Costco membership (I go once in awhile with my sis), but we put aside money to get a quarter beef from a local farmer (which arrives tomorrow - yay). There are only 2 of us so lasts a long time. Blessings to you and your family from Atlantic Canada.
If I can't find good deals on ground beef, I look for marked down chuck roasts. I cut them into thirds or fourths and freeze them. Later on I will grind the almost frozen roasts after cubing them, in my food processor. Best ever. If they are bone in roasts, I roast the bones and make beef stock. So much better than store bought.
Any bones - chicken, Turkey, beef, ham can be used for broth and soups. Also, save your raw veggie scraps and freeze them till you have enough. Then boil them when you get enough and this will make veggie broth.
We almost had a Costco in RI. And yes I heard that those chickens where actually worth more then the price you pay. Because it will get members in the store. And people usually will pick up some more profitable items.
We are buying only produce bread milk fruit and shopping the fridge- freezer and pantry. Son in law smoked a -12 pound brisket last weekend-3 different gal bags of brisket frozen Daughter had to buy this massive 12 pound brisket when on sale for $30
Merry Christmas Brooke and family!🤶🎅⛄️🎄✨️ Great Costco haul. We do the same thing with the chicken we get at Sam's. I put it ziplock bags too,I don't know anything about canning (but,I am learning)I have a friend who is teaching me. I have a Sam's membership so my friend and I are going to do a Sam's run tomorrow and I'm going to get about 5-6 chickens and she's going to turn my bones into stock where I can put it in jars for the pantry (I used to just get 1-2 chickens and make the stock and freeze it after it cooled down(that way it would lay flat in freezer)but,I think putting it un jars would be better. Your family is precious. 😊
I highly recommend investing in a rice cooker like zujiroshi and than buying the huge bag of rice grains. It makes cooking rice so easy and overtime very cheap. I can even do curry, soup, meat, and other types of rice dishes in it. I've read you can make cakes with it too. I've had my cooker for ages now lol.
Brooke, if you’ll notice, you actually got a better deal than you even thought on the ground beef. That is actually 4 pounds of ground beef. They are 1.34 pounds each. And congratulations on the weight loss! That’s exciting.
I am on a very very tight budget this month because of a lot of hospital bills, so I have been working my way through my kitchen freezer and my deep freezer and just cooking as much as I can for every meal instead of ordering, which is what my kids would resort to if I didn’t feel like doing something for the night, it has been definitely saving me money so that I’m not Worrying too much yet
Strange but when my husband went on the carnivore diet. My grocery bill went down since I buy bulk meat for him and cut them and freeze. I drink tea and water mostly. He quit soda drinks and mostly drinks water. He eats well and has energy to spare.
Love your family videos. Especially grocery shopping together. Im looking forward to you making bone broth. Ive never seen it done so it will be a wonderful learning moment for me. I cant wait!😊
We buy chickens at Costco too. We have one for dinner after we get back from shopping. We also keep some of the chicken in pieces for freezing. Makes a great dinner option. Of course we make broth from the leftover bones.
I also freeze my chicken that way, but I do mine in sandwich size bags. I scoop out 2 cups and put in each bag that can make two meals or one large meal if we are having company. It’s really nice and convenient just to go to your freezer and pull out a bag and use part of it one night and the rest the next time. And on the weight loss, that is awesome! Congratulations. That’s hard to do at this time of year. 😊
Thanks for the field trip bestie and Co.! We use our FoodSaver and portion out soup and casserole amounts of chicken to freeze and use later. My husband makes a awesome broth out of carcasses too with veg/onion and pepper scraps as well. So much fun, Brooke. Have a wonderful weekend and be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo
I bought 4 turkeys at 49 cents a pound in November. We had one for Thanksgiving and I broke the rest up for future meals. It was about 80 pounds worth of turkey for less than $40 bucks.
GREAT costco haul...those the prices here in nova scotia are double what you paid...but still they were all great deals....have yourselves a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPPY NEW YEAR
I am 4 hr round trip to a Costco or Sam’s unfortunately. I buy 10 lb bag of dark meat chicken for $10 and pressure can it. That was it does not take up freezer space and already cooked.
OMG!!! Those little cream puffs are soooo easy! You would ROCK them!!! Hardest part would be deciding what filling to choose!🤣 Whipped cream last minute& a dusting of powdered sugar is the easiest but the choices are ENDLESS!!! NEXT VIDEO PLEASE!!!😁♥️ You can do it!!! Merry Christmas to you all😁💚
Sams club is the same way with the rotisserie chicken. They have remaining $4.98 this entire time. It’s a hell of allot cheaper than a whole raw chicken
Very Good price on the cooked whole chickens, when it's higher to buy one than home n cook it yes a lot cheaper for sure your smart doing that for sure. Great haul.
I always keep walnuts in my house. I have about 30 pounds in my freezer right now lol. I like to put them in everything from desserts, chicken salad, both pasta and regular salad.
I do the same thing at Sam’s Club with the Rotisserie Chicken!!! OMG it’s delicious!!! I always get several and break them down and freeze them… And yes I make chicken broth too I just freeze mine in plastic containers!!
Love your channel..been watching 2 yrs..congrat..oh I love your family..I just wanted to make a comment on Costco chicken..I totally agree with everything you said about buying 5..I do the same thing..but..what I have learned that the chickens make Costco a whopping 17million dollars profit..that's not a lost leader..love ya
We drink Ranch too & there’s only 3 of us. (Especially in the Summer). That chicken was like 1/2 off the way you did it; more if you buy the precooked frozen. Think I’ll do that in the new year. It’s perfect for casseroles & soups. Genius !
I’ve done that with the rotisserie chickens as well. The only thing you have to watch with those is the sodium level is pretty high compared to buying raw chicken.
You could make the cream puffs. They're easy to do. You can fill with a pudding, whipped cream or a mix of both. The pudding helps stabilize the whipped cream so it doesn't deflate and get runny.even drizzle with chocolate.
I'm from Canada and are chickens are more expensive then that. I think they are $7.99 each. I love your channel Iade your speggitti dish with Alfredo sauce then speggitti sauce on top... It was so good. Thank you for your wonderful channel. Much love ❤
My kids love the chicken chunks. I like to keep Pecans in the house too, ai always put them in my choc chips cookies and I just snack on them, candied Pecans are yummy too. Kewpie was a steal, I hope they have at my costco!
Nice Brooke!! I’m saving grocery $s this month by steering clear of ‘convenience’ foods. If I really want to add pierogis to a meal then I’d best make ‘em ;)
The way I save on groceries through out the year is shop sales....utilize sams club ...but the biggest thing i do is buy a quarter beef at the beginning of the year. I know some people have said that it's expensiv4 and if you're looking at only the cost of ground beef it is but when you take into consideration multiple steak cuts, roasts, brisket and ribs it's actually pretty cheap. I spend under $1,000 on beef and it lasts over a year
When I go into Costco or Sam’s Club , I always take 2-3 coolers with 1/2 gal jugs of frozen ice. That way when I see the cold or frozen food items I want, I put right away into the cooler so I don’t forget them. Never had any problem going into the stores with my coolers. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
and i buy chilled at Walmart at least 2 and slice and steip all the meat then biil bones and skin not eaten to make delicious broth. Here the chilled are almost half price from hot. And any scrap meat left behind ges added to dogs food for 1 or 2 meals
Got a 22lb turkey on clearance. Going to roast that bag y up and make broth just like you did with the chicken. Hubbys work gave us a 18lb boneless ham, going to slice that baby up and share with with adult kids. I find hamburger deals and cook up can a jar 1/2 meat half tomato sauce. Used three of those to make 8 quarts of taco soup. I froze it instead of canned this time. Sharing with adult kids and their friends as Christmas gifts.
A local grocery store Food City has a pick 5 for 19.99 all the time. They always have one pound packages of ground beef as one option. Also on occasion they have a five dollars off of the 19.99 price. They also have bags of drum sticks or thighs . They offer bacon ,sausage and other convenience items. In produce they have 5 for 7.99 and 5 for 19.99 in some freezer items. It's one way to stock your freezer with meat and it's easy because they've already done the math for you. Also I know in our Walmart in the deli cooler they sometimes have cold rotisserie chickens and sliced cold cuts .I think it's the ends of products and they needed room in their coolers. The last thing I wanted to share about saving money is watching people like Brooke and other influencers that share little life hacks too. This is my favorite channel to watch and truly feel welcome . I hope you have the most amazing Christmas! Also I wondered when your family might do another stocking the gift boxes video. This is the season and I love those videos. Anyway take care and God bless you all.
When I buy the Costco or Sam’s Club five dollar rotisserie chicken I take the legs off and the thighs and put those in separate bags for couple meals. And then I take some of the breast meat and slice it for sandwiches put those in some baggies. Then I shred some and also make junks because I don’t want all the same. My family doesn’t want all the same. That’s just us…that’s what we do. Of course I’ve never gotten more than just two chickens because it’s just me and my husband and occasionally, my son and daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Love your channel. God bless.
We don't have a Costco in driving distance of our home, so I've never been. Looks like lots of goodies in your cart. I have a chicken salad I use rotisserie chicken for. Yummy!
I love the new beach pictures in the entry to your videos.... Great deal on the rotisserie chickens so much meat is a fantastic yield of chicken to use and freeze.... Aren't eating a lot of red meat at all and not buying.. alot of chicken we eat so.. I shop sales and BOGO...love y'all and see ya soon.. 🙏🥰🥰🥰🎄🎅💝
You have convinced me to grab rotisserie chickens. I have realized that I am soooo old school and I need to chill a bit. Rarely buy food that is pre-cooked,use all purpose flour (because self rising is cheating) BWAHAHAHAHAHA….. So I am going to check prices on the chickens. Great video, love you and your family very much!!!! God Bless you and yours, have a blessed Christmas season.
I din't know about anywhere else in the country, but here in Washington everything is so expensive. Soup is not something I buy a lot of, for one because it's expensive but also, I make my own. But, convenience is a good thing. Walmart has cream of mushroom and cream of chicken for 1.00 a can and it was Campbell's. That is a crazy price so I grabbed a case of each. So based on Walmart's regular price a saved 6.00 per case. Pretty decent savings.
Brooke, we love Kewpie mayo but none of us liked the big one from Costco. I was looking for all kinds of things to add mayo to, just to get rid of it. Great haul, I hope you all like the mayo.
I can’t taste the difference between Kewpie and Miracle Whip, but then again I haven’t tried them side by side lol, I had a recipe that called for Kewpie that I was going to take to my daughter in laws luncheon, she’s a foodie, but I didn’t want an $8 bottle of the mayo sitting in my fridge for ever, I used the MW and no one noticed, the recipe came from her, so I didn’t dare say a word lol. Probably side by side the difference would be noticeable but anyway, in a pinch the miracle whip will work!
The ground beef is actually 4 lbs. not 3, and 93/7,so it's actually a good deal. The rotisserie chickens, you get approximately 2 lbs. of chicken meat per chicken, which you can put into 1lb. Pkgs.and freeze. Then you can boil the bones and skin for bone broth.
Brooke made a Dollar store Thanksgiving for $20. I think it was $20. I buy the Rotisserie chickens and make so many meals and broth; it’s just my hubby and I.
P.S. Illinois farm girl we still have propane heat stove dryer. I'm always looking to save energy. I go to Sam's and get it when it's the breasts. And they'll be 3 something for too giant breasts and none of the dark meat because nobody eats it anymore here. Set legs. Do you know how that goes? And I freezthem and I do the same thing or I take them off. The somethings I leave the bone on. And I always buy up all the packages that are there or within reason in room in the freezer😊
I am so glad you are teaching your kids how to budget. A lot of parent's don't. That's how people end up mismanaging their money and not knowing how to properly buy groceries or pay bills.
I was just watching the news and thought I’m going to look for something more fun to watch. Then I saw you had another video up! You’re more fun! 🤩
Wise decision indeed. My entire world has grown immensely brighter since I entirely swore off everything even remotely political.
That’s the best compliment!!! lol!

Brook you are always beautiful but look extra in this video!
You could make the cream puffs. They're easy to do. You can fill with a pudding, whipped cream or a mix of both. The pudding helps stabilize the whipped cream so it doesn't deflate and get runny.even drizzle with chocolate.
Or fill them with ice cream and drizzle chocolate over them.
I'm from Canada and are chickens are more expensive then that. I think they are $7.99 each. I love your channel Iade your speggitti dish with Alfredo sauce then speggitti sauce on top... It was so good. Thank you for your wonderful channel. Much love ❤
I bought myself $100 of coffee gift cards for $80 at Costco last month. It comes out of my spending money, and that is a 20% savings
Your family is so precious!
I spend under $1,000 on beef and it lasts over a year
Brooke, there is Nothing wrong with getting those chickens! It’s extremely cost effective! ❤
Aldi has those cream puffs…
I love you’re channel !! Happy holidays 🎄⛄️✨
We can get cold rotisserie chicken at our Walmart for 2.97, I live in rural SETexas.
YIKES! Toom is tasty and all, but I can't begin to imagine how even the largest families could use up that massive vat of the stuff.
Our Walmart has the cold rotisserie chicken for $3.99
You have convinced me to grab rotisserie chickens.
I don't have a Costco membership anymore. But I loved watching your haul.
Look nurse Hannah! 😂😂😂
Do you can your homemade chicken broth? Would love to see you make it and how you jar it. Great ideas!
35 lbs???!!! Wow!!! I knew you were looking skinnier than usual. Your face is thinner. Still beautiful. Your dimples are so cute.
Hey Brooke..Hair is so cute!❤
The ground beef is actually 4 lbs. not 3, and 93/7,so it's actually a good deal.
The rotisserie chickens, you get approximately 2 lbs. of chicken meat per chicken, which you can put into 1lb. Pkgs.and freeze.
Then you can boil the bones and skin for bone broth.
Hot dog first! 😂😂❤❤
Congratulations on the weight loss! You are such a pretty woman, what do you use on your skin and what is that hair color.? ❤
I love the chicken idea!!! I will be doing that!
Great buy for chicken 🐔!!!🎉
Great idea and that ended up being a lot of chicken!
Awhh hi Brooke gd savings at Costco 😀😀
Not doing Christmas this year can't even pay the monthly bills so hopefully can get some food for the dinner
Brooke made a Dollar store Thanksgiving for $20. I think it was $20. I buy the Rotisserie chickens and make so many meals and broth; it’s just my hubby and I.
Great haul..thanks for sharing ❤
I love smoked pork or beef. I go with dusty great haul.❤💚❤️💚🎄🎄☃️☃️
Those chicken chunks are WAY better than the just bare or the realgood brands!!! I have to keep pecans in my house too ❤
Merry Christmas Family.Viewing from Nova Scotia.❤
