Tip for all clogged DPF owners, unscrew the uppermost sensor, get 3-4mm plastic tube, block the end, make holes in the tube to spray at different angles, fix to a washing up bottle, fill bottle with 300ml of dishwasher cleaner and insert pipe into the DPF and spray, leave overnight then next day go for a 30min run on the motorway at 2500rpm in fourth gear. Thank me later.

I fill a garden sprayer with washing liquid and water, take the sensor out and start the engine. Spraying the soap in for about ten mins, then loosely put sensor back in and go for a low gear high rev'd drive

Thats the particle filter and the Catalytic converter. I removed my DFP last weekend from under the car. A very simple operation.

@@jobbiejew super easy when you start under the car. after removing the underplastic sheet its just 3 bolts to loosen. one tube (16mm) exhaust clamp and the big jubilee clip arround the filter housing, out it comes. NOTHING to do fom the top.

    • @davewalmash6849
      @davewalmash6849 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@MrBoerdt In fairness, the bolt linking that jubilee clip is absolute hell to get off. I've never seen a worse design. The brass barely gives you enough room to get a spanner on. You might be better off taking the whole thing out just to avoid that one bolt.

As I understand it,the vehiles engine management system has to be reset presumsbly with a specialist diagnostic scan tool,in order for the now replenished dpf fluid to be injected into the system,to enable the self cleaning function to work,so there doesnt seem much point in doing all this,if the system is not going to operate correctly at the end of it!

    • @frv6610

I think that was true for models older than 2009, models after around 2009 tests everyday the soot level of the filter with the help of differential pressure sensor. DPF fluid is unrelated to this, it is squirted from an Eolys container into the fuel tank everytime one puts fuel into the fuel tank. Why would the car not do that when it is important to avoid making it worse? Are you saying the DPF fluid stops being injected because the DPF fluid itself is bad for the DPF? The car will always try passive regeneration on the highway so it is important that DPF fluid is injected.
Also this cleaning will for sure take the car out of limp mode without telling it with a scan tool that the filter is cleaned/changed. I am not sure but I guess it can also take it out of "Service mode" which is a HP-decreased mode without a scan tool.

Great Information. But, please show how you get to any point. Like you are unscrewing something, but where is that actually located? Hope this makes sense

My fan on my Berlingo stays on after the engine is turned off. I've cleaned the DPF with a cleaner.
Have to got a video on changing the Fan relay? As it looks like a pig of a job without having ramps and taking the front bumper off.

The heat shield which you are holding at 6:31 rusted off from mine and fell under the car. Do you think it has any importance or can I just leave it like that.

The DPF Is only the lower half of the whole unit you removed, you did not need to take it all off,, 20 minutes job done if you split it on the car

Once it's out, does it need to be opened to clean the inside with water and dpf cleaner?

Hi there's no catalytic converter on this right? Just exhaust manifold/DPF filter and then that mesh section underneath part of the exhaust mid section

The cat is located in the top half underneath the o2 sensor but before the temp and pressure sensors for the dpf, this luckily comes apart into 2 pieces quite easily.

Is not the DPF at the bottom (with the pipe), why did you remove the entire thing (DOC+DPF), I mean the upper part with oxygen sensor opening (the DOC, diesel oxidation catalyst)? Can you make a video where you do the bare minimum to only remove the DPF at the bottom? Update, I found such a video: th-cam.com/video/GnkBOtrcukI/w-d-xo.html
I wonder what are all the parts and pipes visible in the engine bay (turbo exhaust pipes/hoses etc?)
