hi i need an advice. im learning now AB plc simulator and planning to buy a real.PLC to simulate PID. What do think is the best to buy with a limited budget but i can use this to practice PLC programming.
You need RS Logix 500 software if you are communicating with any MicroLogix or SLC type PLC. RS Logix 5000 software (now Studio 5000) only works with Compact Logix and Control Logix PLCs. If you have more questions feel free to ask ! Have a great day, Durwood

Does this mean the laptop does not need an ethernet card ? That external device works ?
If i have RSLogix 5000 can i communicate with a PLC that has RS500?
