How to Search Filters on Instagram (2023)

In this quick video, I'm going to show you how you can search for new filters on your Instagram. The search button is kind of hidden behind the carousel of all the available filters, ready to be used, so it's not as obvious as it may seem. That's also why I created this video.

I think Instagram updated the special effects thing to where you have to search and save and then apply. Which just creates extra steps to sharing… they really have just needlessly over complicated things, it’s annoying af now. 😤

I saved a couple of effects as you described. But when they don't show among the effect choices once I upload a photo for my story. Nor does the search button. How to I apply those saved effects to a photo? thanks.

Go to camera mode, under effects, scroll all the way to the right to the magnifying glass icon. Search the effect that you want and click on the save icon. Once it’s saved it will show up for you under your effect options
