Paul Warren Dean (born February 19, 1946 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is the lead guitarist for the rock band Loverboy which reached huge fame in the early 1980s. Dean's first bands included Cannonball, the Great Canadian River Race, Canada and Scrubbaloe Caine. Dean then met drummer Matt Frenette and joined Streetheart in Regina, Saskatchewan in 1977. In 1979, Dean and Frenette left Streetheart and returned to Calgary where they formed Loverboy with singer Mike Reno. In 1989, Dean released his first solo album called Hard Core. At the 2009 Juno Awards Dean was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as a member of Loverboy.
@@matthewrogers8778 Paul’s vocals on sword and stone were some of his best ever, not sure what kinda crap you’re smokin! This version sucks and bonfires version doesn’t hold a candle to the kiss version…
Long year fan of the bonfire-version (since the 90ies). I knew the Kiss (Stanley)-Version but this one - never heard it. Man youtube is such an awesome thing! :D
I just found the other bands who cover this song…….did not care for their version of this song AT ALL! This one fkn rocks! Paul Dean’s voice, guitar and those awesome drums! Great beat!💕💕💕💕
Hign Noon...cant agree more with you...I love Kiss and Bonfire is good, but they sing without the power and soul that Paul puts into this song. Hell the guitar work is even much much better on this version.
That dude FUCKEN ROCKS on those drums! Damn! Great song! Love to sing to it! Who gives a shit that it doesn’t win a Grammy! If this song makes me ROCK OUT while hauling ass in my Jeep…..that is good enough for me! 😎

This was written by Paul Stanley and Bruce Kulick of Kiss. Their unreleased version is of poor sound quality but I think still the best version. Bonfire’s version is a very close second.
@@Dr.Jekyll Yes, I know. They recorded it for the Asylum, but never made it. It's a great song. Bonfire version is just mindblowing. It's heavier with European sound. I quite like that. Kiss' version is also excellent. I would like to hear it without keys.
Very different from Kiss’s demo and even Bonfire’s cover. I don’t think this one quite captures the magic of the original song, but maybe it’s a personal preference version.
@@warrendawson8598 th-cam.com/video/aKrxcF0cXMY/w-d-xo.html It is a song that they did not release, but they did a demo for the Album Crazy Nights (Desmond child, Paul Stanley and bruce kullick) it was discarded. The song was used later for the movie Shocker
This was one of KISS's greatest screw ups. Listen to the Bonfire version and this song has KISS stamped all over it. I love Paul Dean. But he ruined it.
The kiss one floating around TH-cam is a demo. Can you imagine if the fine tuned and mastered it? It would blow all others away. Paul Stanley was in the prime of his singing career at that time
You must be very young. The drummer and lead singer/guitarist are from a band from the 80’s….LOVERBOY. Love this version. I heard the other versions out there, did not like them. This one rocks! Drummer is fkn awesome!💕

Great Version..... Have no idea why Paul didn't release it as a KISS Song... God it would have fit so well on Crazy Nights...
Ron Nevison, producer of Crazy Nights is the stupid who rejected this song.
@@JulioArreola1 Wow! Such a stupid decision!
Cuz its not his song Desmond childs also and bonfire did it and did it better Pauls vocals were awful on that.....and so is this remake

This song ROCKS!!!! Great guitar and drums......half of LOVERBOY.....Paul and Matt. 80's ROCKED!!!!!!
@@menemark5558 I am fine🤗
AND., the original lineup of STREETHEART too
This whole album is really good. Paul is a great musician...one of my heroes!

Hard core is one of the most heaviest and fun albums from this Canadian rock legend who comes from my home province which is Alberta
Awesome drummer! Great beat! Great guitar! Matt and Paul from Loverboy. Great tune!!🎸🎶🎤📻🎹🥁

Very cool version.
Probably the best non released KISS song
Bonfire recorded it for the Shocker soundtrack and it kicks butt
Bonfire
Paul Dean is from Loverboy
Sorry but maybe if Gene did vocals but Stanley sucked.... as why they didn't use it..... go check out some wicked Lester and you will see.
Why all of the references to kiss
Still a great song. I've been looking for a HQ version of this video. Thanks or posting.
masterpiece !!!!!!!!!!
It really is!
I'm a bonfire Shocker soundtrack guy but this is good too 🤘😎
Had no idea this existed. Thank you The Real Music Observer!
Every song on this album was GREAT!
This has been out for 31 years now.
Memories 💖
I'm digging the lower key but the original synth makes this song come alive
Awesome!
love to see matty playing drums.....
Moja pani , niech to będą Nasze znaki wywoławcze-prawo zaskoczenia.
The band Canadian Paul Dean this great vision of Sword and Stone is the best sound
best version of this song
Все версии хороши по своему,но для меня Bonfire бесподобны😤💪🔥🤘🥰

I saw him open for Bad Company in 1989.

Not bad. While I still prefer the Bonfire version, this is pretty damn good! He is one hell of a guitar player.

The Bonfire version is the definitive version of this song. Even the Kiss demo version is better.
This great song originally written by Desmond Child
You misspelled Paul stanley
Desmond AND Paul Stanley
I would have loved to hear the original version with Paul Stanley and the rest of Kiss
. Bonfire's version is better
I never knew that KISS had the original version, gotta link to it ???

Ron Nevison, who produced KISS's Crazy Nights album, didn't like the song. Too bad, because I love KISS's version
Es la mejor versión de las tres. Sin duda.
Metal from Canada, eh.
There is one part in this that reminds me of "Poison" by Alice Cooper
What’s the deal with this song? Everyone released a version? Kiss, bonfire and these guys?
thinking there might be a little innuendo at play here. I can be wrong.
Bonfire version is better , but this version still kicks ass
bonfire круче переиграли,хотя здесь тоже неплохо.
Bonfire version is the best. Has the ooomph.
Bonfire version is way better to my personal taste. Impossible to outdo Lessman vocal abilities.
Not bad, but I do like the Kiss (Leaked Demo) and Bonfire version better.
Very middle of the road compared to Kiss and Bonfire.
@High Noon Nah
the change of melody on this song is a wrong thing to do, Dean's voice is great though
Who the hell is Paul Dean. Good song though.

Yeah, I don’t really like this one as much as bonfire’s version to pop
Not even close to Kiss version!
Kiss original demo is the best than this
wtf is this total crap..lol
It’s good
Sounds like all the same repetitive pop glam rock of the 80s and 90s, there was a terrible time period Of a lot of cloning of bands sound and looks
Boring Version
Listen to Bonfire. This sucks so bad.
