Ali is right, the nightstands are too big, actually too tall for the bed. I love the width but the height is too high. Nightstands should be comfortable arms length for your guests, once you have lamps on them, they will make the bed look dollhouse size. I am so loving your entire remodel. May have to fly Ken and his partner over to California to do some work for me!!

Save the wax , melt and dip pine cones in it for kindling for the fire... store them in a pretty basket and they will release scent in the room until you use them ..as well while they are burning

I learned the best trick for putting in a duvet cover. You turn it inside out and grab the corners and shake it down! & Voila!
Or you can crawl inside it lol that's what I do😂 I'll have to try your way!

Switch the nightstand in this room and your bedroom. I think the dark color and the size would suit a larger scaled room like the master bedroom.
She can't because of the door next to her bedside. It won't open with a bigger nightstand. Even though I think you are right. They would look great.

IMO they are too big. If you would really need the storage they would be finde, but i guess you don't. the room appears a little stuffed, because the dressers don't have legs. bedside tables or console tables would make the room feel more airy, i think. i love all the colours, except for the gold pheasant. it does not fit in a bedroom as it reminds me personally of hunting and that is not something i would like to think when i'm about to sleep. Maybe more in a hallway, or something....... Love everything btw. Just my opinion.
I feel if you added a darker cushions / continental pillows to the bed or a dark frame/artwork on the wall above the bed the side dressers wouldn’t feel so large. At the moment they feel bigger because it’s what your eye is immediately drawn to. I love these house vlogs!x
Love those nightstands! I don’t think they are too big but if you aren’t going to buy new ones putting them in your master might make you happier. Laundry room is amazing!

Stick the candle in the freezer and the wax will pop right out after about and hour or so, also buy some adhesive remover wipes to get the label glue off the candle glass! Hope this helps
Hi!! Make making the bed easier... turn the COVER inside out, put your hands into each corner and grab your duvet. The cover then just folds over the duvet. Love the satin slipper paint colour!

I think the dresser-bedside-tables? are too big...pretty but to big for both the bed and the room. Also ( I think)too dark. Just me.

I like the side tables but to be honest I kept looking at them and couldnt think what was putting me off. Its defo the side wings on the bed! I think rather the wings go or the large side tables change. That's my opinion guys. But always love your style. 😇

I think the nightstands are too big. The bed looks very small with these on each side.
I have large bedside tables, with two large mirrors and it looks great! Hang the mirrors and it will make the room look taller.
In my opinion the nightstands are perfect. :) I would only hang decor on top of the bed though. It would give height in the center, and give a smaller appearance to the nightstands!

Great call on utility room walls such a difference the linens on the shelf adorable.
The stairs make the entire entrance beautiful. Standing half way up with Ken on the other stairs give a great perspective of the overall look . Once you have your mind made up on the style of bench for the doorway please update , I get so excited.

The bedside tables will look lovely and luxurious once the room is fully styled. Symmetry is key - get two gold mirrors on either side (similar size the the one on bedside table now) and add two matching bedside lamps (also slightly taller than the headboard to keep it all balanced) , then add a focal piece of art in the centre of the room above the headboard = focal point + symmetry = wow factor + relaxation :)
I think you should swap de nightshelves from your bedroom to the guest bedroom! I think it’s nicer 😘
Pien Bouwmans yes totally agree!! They would look luxury hotel 😍. Lydia might have to take the closet door of though because she could barely fit the small ones. I think she needs to swap like you said and get a different bed. Sorry Lydia! 🙈 I know the process!😂🤪

Lydia the question I have is who normally makes up your beds? It’s a duvet and you made it look like a complicated equation. The duvet looks so comfortable but if you like it draped over the bed each side you and Al will be quibbling over it. The spare room they are Chester draws not bed side tables. They are huge x

I don’t normally agree with all your decorating choices...but totally agree with everything you’ve done in this video!! The utility room is SO much nicer in that new colour!! And yes, the ottoman doesn’t work that well with the new staircases. Loving the growing duvet!! I can’t see the point of having smaller side tables in the bedroom. You won’t put anything else in the space. I think it works well, esp when you have side lamps etc. Hooray!

I know you mentioned a Pugh for your hallway however perhaps try searching for a Settle! They are like small Pews which were traditionally in hallways also a good excuse to pick beautiful fabrics.

I really like those nightstands! Yes they're quite large but would be perfect for guests to use when visiting if there's no other storage for clothes? For a room that people aren't living in, I think they work!

Love the bedside dressers. It is unexpected and interesting and makes the room look much grander. I call it the "old money" look. Gold mirrors too. Fantastic mix and keeping it still modern.

Well as you asked, individually all items are lovely, but they are not working together. Worth a try for the extra storage but they overwhelm what is otherwise a great feature bed...
Basically you finish the rooms and then you do them again... ? 😉

The duvet looks so cozy! And you know what, I think the reason to why the duvet isn't big enough is due to the fact that we have different bed sizes in Sweden, where Hästens is from. We don't have the "American" sizes with Queen and King size, but in cm. So, ex a small double bed is 160 cm wide, and the next 180 cm. Just a thought!

The nightstands are absolutely stunning! However, they do seem to be a little bit too big. In my opinion they dominate the room more than they should taking the attention away from the beautiful bed you have. If the bed/guest room was slightly bigger the size of the tables would probably work much better. I’d say wait a while until the room is more complete, dress the nightstands, see how that looks and then make your decision :)

I would go for the smaller bedside tables, with matching mirrors over each table and then matching lamps to finish it off. For bedside tables I feel like they should be lower and not quite as wide making the bed the focal point instead of the tables.
Hi Lydia really nice paint color in your utility room! I have a suggestion on the recycled Joe Malone jars - put white sands on the bottom of the jar about 2 inches (I usually get them from the fish pet store) then put a white candle in the middle of the jar then put white shells on the sides - only if you like to do it. Just a suggestion. Awesome vlog! Thank you again!

I hope you see this comment - a lot of people think the nightstands are too big for the room but I think the bed frame is just too small. Keep the stands, find a new frame that works better. I love the casual but upscale vibe the dressers as nightstands create. It’s unique and feels natural without trying too hard. Keep the stands but find a frame that elevates the bed up off the ground more.

I totally agree! Everyone is saying the night stands are too big. No....the night stands are perfect, it's the bed frame that doesn't work.
I think the drawers would work if you had some larger pillows against the headboard of the bed to make it look taller, maybe a 70x70 pillow each side behind the standard 50x80 ones! I got two from John Lewis for £16 each filled with feathers and they look so plump and lovely!

I really like the nightstands! It's difficult to tell via video if they are too large- something I'd need to see in person. If you keep the decor items on each table very symmetrical and more neutral, then accented the wall with the right art, it could balance the scale of the tables and bed and make the look work!
The night stands are a little big, but I think if you have the same big mirror on the other stand (so there's one on both), that will help make the whole room feel bigger and therefore, I think the stands will look good. :)
You could break up the left over candle wax and use it on A melter. They plug in and then you could use all the wax up
What color is our quilted comforter from the white company? Is it the cloud color on the website? To me it looks kind of cream? But it also looks grey in some angles and blush in others?

The noisey duvet would make me crazy. I had one like that once and had to get rid of it. My lovely down duvet I have now doesn’t make crunchy noises and I love it!
You can cut up the bottom of the candle, freeze it, and then melt it over a wax warmer so you can use the whole thing
I agree with Allie those nightstands are way 2 big for that bed. It looks awkward because the head board is almost leveled with them.
When I look at just the nightstand with the mirror in proportion to the bed it looks fine. They are large nightstands, but I think with the right dressings it will look great. Especially with some larger pillows so that the headboard doesn't look so empty.

Bedside tables...keep the one at the window where it is and turn the other one against the wall opposite the window and pop the mirror on it the way you have it... I love them x
Keep the bedside tables but paint them and change out the drawer pulls to those crystal looking knobs. Top them each with gold framed mirrors like the one you already have and decorate the tabletop accordingly.

Personally I like the larger nightstands! They could be a bit lower but a larger table will make the room feel grander, along with balance the mirrors or art which sound like they will also be on the larger size. Everything looks fabulous!! By the way, I love your decor vlogs so you changing up your decor only means more content, I don't understand why anyone would say anything negative regarding that. I change mine often so I totally get it! Now on to hunting for your entry mirror as it will go perfectly in my entry! 😻

I messaged you in IG about their size being too big but I’ve changed my mind! Because if you’re using this room as a guest room then each guest would have their own 1) chest of drawers 2) vanity top 3) nightstand. An all in one. Now all you need is to ensure the walls near bed have outlets for both the bed lamp and the phone charger 👍🏼 #hotelstatus
What are the night stands like from lying in the bed? Are they possibly too high to e.g. turn the light off, grab a glass of water.......? I like the amount of storage they provide though
My two cents on the night stands- you just need to make them symmetrical with the decoration. Because they are so big, two- smaller mirrors on either side will balance them out.

I have my mom sew ties onto the duvet and the cover in the corners so that it stays in place and I don’t need to constantly fix it. I also turn the duvet inside out to put it on, so much easier! I love the bed tables, it’s how I have my bedroom set up. My husband and I prefer them higher up and wide, definitely personal preference. I think it’s the bed I don’t like because of the side wings. It would flow so much better without them. Are they removable?

The bed side tables are too big for the bed I believe. But if you don't want to get rid of them, try experimenting with the tables with a good paint job in a white or light cream color 🙂. I think it would totally lighten up the space.

OK, yes the night tables are way to big...You could take the one on our left away, move the bed a little to the left and move the right one accordingly... Can you use the larger one I suggested to move, and maybe use it at the foot of the bed maybe as a dresser?

Keep those 2 bedsides. They work because the head from the bed has those flip things (🤦🏻♀️) that room has really a modern french vibe. I would also work with mirrors (no prints) and when you go for side lamps maybe go for something in mat black in a simple minimalistic design, that works really good with the esthetic of the room and would also balance it and not overpowers it
The nightstands are to tall. Is there anyway you can unscrew the legs? Or just cut them off and tape them to the back, as long as they aren't antique. You can always reattach them with a dowel, if you want to use them elsewhere.

Hästens pronounced hestens. It means the horse (hence the horse logo). It's Swedish and expensive...you can usually recognize their beds from their blue buffalo check print.
