when people are talking about 4th generation, Weeekly are always getting left behind and I felt sorry for those people who doesn't even know Weeekly's existence!! when it comes to vocals they are the only gg that almost all members can be main vocalist, they can pull off cute, punk, sexy, girl crush concept without trying so hard. they are funny chaotic, their visuals are just overflowing, they are full of charms. their songs are catchy enough and the lyrics is full of meanings and lastly they are not trying hard to follow the trend that most of rhe gg's nowadays are so into. Weeekly is absolutely a full package girl group and that's a fact!!
WEEEKLY (위클리) (formerly known as PlayM Girls and FAVE Girls) is a seven-member girl group under Play M Entertainment consisting of Soojin, Jiyoon, Monday, Soeun, Jaehee, Jihan, and Zoa. They debuted in June 30, 2020 with their debut album ‘We Are’ which features the title track Tag Me (@Me).
Weeekly is SO talented it astounds me. I've been following K-Pop for over a decade, seen I don't even know how many groups debut, and the last rookie group I remember having this much talent is like... SHINee? I remember when SHINee debuted it felt like they somehow had 10 vocalists and 10 dancers in a 5 member group, and Weeekly feels the same. Maybe T-Ara when Soyeon joined and the Soyeon/Eunjung/Hyomin/Jiyeon core just had an overwhelming amount of talent. Just look Weeekly's talent, shining through this video. And then listen to their many singing covers. So good. What the heck! What makes Weeekly unique is that with a lot of idols, you can tell they are natural singers who practiced dancing enough to be an idol, or natural dancers who have trained their voices enough to be an idol, and sometimes you have unique cases where they're good at both. But with Weeekly it just seems like a lot of the members are just... good at everything? ...?!? Like Soeun for sure is a natural dancer from all that energy she lets loose on stage, but then you see her vocal covers and she has a great voice too? Jihan has the natural ability to put so much emotion in her voice but then she has that dancer feel as any Orbit should? Jiyoon can produce, sing, dance, and be goofy but also really cool all in one song? I could go on and on with other members, I mean I haven't even mentioned the leader who was only the CENTER OF MIXNINE's JUST DANCE. How did Play M get all these girls away from SM/JYP/YG? Based on their title tracks so far you can tell Play M is still trying to figure out what to do with all this talent, and I'm glad their rookie year had pretty straightforward concepts so the girls had some time to figure out what kind of idols they are. Hopefully their many rookie awards will attract some great producers and concept-creatives who can give these girls the kind of artistic framework they deserve. It can be hard for groups from smaller companies to get that but if ATEEZ can do it recently, then so can Weeekly. I realize this is super long for a TH-cam comment but I've just discovered Weeekly recently and they are a-ma-zing. These are rookies??!?
Yes, Weeekly is just a rookie and they already have this much of talents. I still can't imagine what will they be during their peak era on several more years. In this video we can see that Weeekly is composed of seven main dancers ( I'm not saying they aren't singers they pretty good at singing), aside from that we can see the versatility they have from girl crush to cute and so. And Park Soeun and Lee Soojin in that Monster cover was on another level, they ate that cover.

when people are talking about 4th generation, Weeekly are always getting left behind and I felt sorry for those people who doesn't even know Weeekly's existence!! when it comes to vocals they are the only gg that almost all members can be main vocalist, they can pull off cute, punk, sexy, girl crush concept without trying so hard. they are funny chaotic, their visuals are just overflowing, they are full of charms. their songs are catchy enough and the lyrics is full of meanings and lastly they are not trying hard to follow the trend that most of rhe gg's nowadays are so into. Weeekly is absolutely a full package girl group and that's a fact!!

Weeekly is SO talented it astounds me. I've been following K-Pop for over a decade, seen I don't even know how many groups debut, and the last rookie group I remember having this much talent is like... SHINee? I remember when SHINee debuted it felt like they somehow had 10 vocalists and 10 dancers in a 5 member group, and Weeekly feels the same. Maybe T-Ara when Soyeon joined and the Soyeon/Eunjung/Hyomin/Jiyeon core just had an overwhelming amount of talent. Just look Weeekly's talent, shining through this video. And then listen to their many singing covers. So good. What the heck!
What makes Weeekly unique is that with a lot of idols, you can tell they are natural singers who practiced dancing enough to be an idol, or natural dancers who have trained their voices enough to be an idol, and sometimes you have unique cases where they're good at both. But with Weeekly it just seems like a lot of the members are just... good at everything? ...?!? Like Soeun for sure is a natural dancer from all that energy she lets loose on stage, but then you see her vocal covers and she has a great voice too? Jihan has the natural ability to put so much emotion in her voice but then she has that dancer feel as any Orbit should? Jiyoon can produce, sing, dance, and be goofy but also really cool all in one song? I could go on and on with other members, I mean I haven't even mentioned the leader who was only the CENTER OF MIXNINE's JUST DANCE. How did Play M get all these girls away from SM/JYP/YG?
Based on their title tracks so far you can tell Play M is still trying to figure out what to do with all this talent, and I'm glad their rookie year had pretty straightforward concepts so the girls had some time to figure out what kind of idols they are. Hopefully their many rookie awards will attract some great producers and concept-creatives who can give these girls the kind of artistic framework they deserve. It can be hard for groups from smaller companies to get that but if ATEEZ can do it recently, then so can Weeekly. I realize this is super long for a TH-cam comment but I've just discovered Weeekly recently and they are a-ma-zing. These are rookies??!?
Yes, Weeekly is just a rookie and they already have this much of talents. I still can't imagine what will they be during their peak era on several more years. Out of the Rookie that debuted, I already set myself to stan Weeekly. (Actually, I'm a Play M Stan, it's been a while of being Panda and Alice.) I know this girl will go really big if manage right and I hope everyone will start noticing Weeekly.
