Nice list, Bob. Choosing 9 is tough. I grew up watching a lot of classic Hollywood movies so I’ll throw Casablanca, The Ghost Breakers, and Gunga Din on the list for a few old Hollywood favorites. Empire Strikes Back, Jaws and TMNT were huge for me as well. In my late teens/early twenties: Kill Bill, Taxi Driver and Carrie probably had the biggest impact on me. Tarantino is easily my favorite director and there a couple of his movies that I could choose, but Kill Bill got me into kung fu, spaghetti westerns and Italian horror so it’s extremely important to me. Suspiria would be an honorable mention.

Awesome list Bob !! I love jaws 🦈.scream made me so scared when I was little, I had so many nightmares of ghost face chasing me down the road. He never got me 😂 if my brother could see how much I like that movie now 🍿 I think he would be proud 🥹
Great picks, Bob. I remember ditching my College Comp class to go see "Blade" when it came out. Lol. We all have that one film that changed how we look at films. Mine was "Clerks" because it made me pay attention to dialogue and story structure. Warrior is FANTASTIC, especially the end where the brothers are walking out of the cage, finally seeing eye to eye with each other while their father is watching them. Such a great moment.

Yeah I wanted to come at it from a slightly different angle. Movies continue to make me into who I am. So I couldn’t just choose stuff from when I was a kid.
Great stuff! Still like Blade and having comic movies going for the R rating. Scream is a modern classic and I know The Graduate is always spoken of so highly, but I have yet to see it. I love Warrior and agree it is very inspiring. It is also awesome that you have such great memories with your dad seeing that movie!
