Henriette Renie was a French composer and harpist born in 1875 and died in 1956. Aside from her compositions, she gained prominence as a woman at a time when it was not socially acceptable for women to have fame (piano, by contrast, is more known for composers such as Chopin or Schumann in the early/mid-1800s). Some of her notable students include Grandjany as well as Susann McDonald. The composition Piece Symphonique (written in 1907 and first published in 1913) is set in three episodes and it describes the different stages of mourning. While the start of the piece begins with a funeral march, towards the end, there is a clarity of beauty to suggest that future hopes does not erase pain, but rather the pain is transfigured.
Incomparable ! Quel talent ! Alisa est extraordinaire !
Best harpist in the world. I admire you so much, as a harpist myself. What makes you great is your passion. Thank you for that.
