And Code Talker by Joseph Bruchac. I admire Canada for talking about it, and bringing these stories to life. One super pet peeve of mine is the use of the term spirit animal. No, your favorite animal or person is not your spirit animal. This is a sacred journey taken interiorly by hopefully trained indigenous guides, the animal comes to you, not the other way around. One does not choose, it is chosen. I highly respect the indigenous peoples everywhere, unfortunately through history wiping out cultures is what man does, and hope it stops. I’m in the US, to get us to admit anything at all is going to be a major miracle.
