I have that aiyima woofer like that, doesn't has any air holes on the magnet shield, it makes some distortion sound , but the woofers weren't distortion,especially for deep bass, but when i switched to aiyima 20 watt woofer that have air holes, it sounds just good and doesn't has any distortion at all, i'm using it until now.
As far as I know a bandpass is basically a 4th order, which would mean a ported and a sealed chamber. The front of this speaker is open though so it technically isnt a bandpass, could easily be made into one though. But his full range sound would get muddy.

@@cybernaab I wouldn't expect a lot of a speaker that was most likely build without calculating anything. There are drivers that can produce a lot of bass for their size but you would need to make an adequate enclosure. But at least it looks cool

Great bass. As expected from Aiyima speakers. That's what I am using too. But I don't like the idea of putting all the modules inside with the speaker. You should at least separated those from the main speaker box.
the bass radiator is ok, is actually bigger than the speakers (3 times bigger is the rule), so it can handle it perfectly; obviously, if the build had a bigger bass radiator it would've sounded better
One thing I've always wounderd ....with how much a box amplifys and changes the sound ...is it almost that the air moving from the back of the speeker is doing more sound production then the frount

You obviously dont know what distortion is. please read the definition of the words before you post publicly online.
I like it but you should have a crossover circuit to eliminate highs and mids to produce only bass then add tweeters on a sperate amp.
