Not going to lie: this is absolutely the best version of Mystic Voyage to date. Normally when i rank her music, CITD is my least favorite of her albums (still rate it 4/5 on my main critic scale) and thats kind of due to the four slower tracks on the album. So, this song took a while to grow on me. When i first heard this variation, i fell in love. Arguably one of the top four tracks on Outlanders. Would love to see this version performed live some time if Tarja decides to tour for thia project. Absolutely beautiful.
Colours in the Dark is almost as good as What lies beneath after me. Deliverance, as an example, is pure gold, even though I think the guitars are too dim. Mystique Voyage, Medusa, Lucid Dreamer, Until Silence are also very good with an amazing orchestration. I even think fondly of Victims after not liking it in the first place. The 2 nevers, Never Enough and Nightlight are awful and 500 Letters is generic even it's written after a true and veridic story. What album do you like most from her and do you expect the greatest album from her to be the newest or the latest that Tarja promised ? I do want something new, a fresh breath of air, I'm afraid she will loose if she doesn't come with something new and hopefully the best because I think she can pull this of, I want to. Now she's a learned a thing or 2 about the course of the music and I'm sure that the best is yet to come.
