I really like your videos. I'm playing hardcore D2 for the first time. I died on my first attempt at normal Diablo as a summoner necro, I'm on Act 3 in nightmare on my second attempt. The power creep is outrageous and I'm having a ton of fun. Thanks for the inspiration.

Before you got to Arcane Sanctuary, you could have shopped for a staff with teleport charges. Having that as a secondary weapon is really helpful with a summon necro in some areas.
Sorry for commenting after a year... Actually, any source of teleportation is mandatory for summoner, as it focuses all the minions on one target. Before Enigma you can use teleport staff, teleport charges on amulet, or just use scroll of town portal. Just teleport to enemy, move a bit after teleportation and all your army will attack the same target.
@@TremereKorbuI dunno why this reminded me of it but if you namelock a mob and summon ravens on the mob as a druid ALL of your ravens will target that specific dude. It's super useful on hardcore. People sleep on ravens but the blind they inflict is super useful 😅
I have the platinum trophy in Dark souls 1. I love 3 as well. Bloodborne is also one of my favorite games of all time. I've thought about doing these kind of videos with those games as well :) the format would definitely work with it. I have multiple metroid games that I still need to get to as well.
For bosses from lvl 24 the following skills need one ppint: skeleton mage (resummon until you get a cold mage), decrepify, summon resistance. Clay golem+cold mage+decrepify means bosses barely move. With summon resistance your minons should survive a little longer to deal damage. Use teleport charge or cast a tp next to joss to stack minions so they all attack
The first couple of levels might be 'uuufh'... you can also get yourself a bit of money and shop yourself a +3 Skeleton wand to quickly get hella strong Skeletons.
Managed to get a +3Summon, +2Mastery, +1 Amp damage wand at lvl5 in one run I was doing. Eventually changed it to a Spirit mid-Hell, but really didn't have to. That wand would have won me the game easily. Early game win-stick for sure. (I love classes with innate +skills equipment that are easy to shop, and with the sort of scaling summon necros have, this goes double)
My HC summon necro back in the day was as confident as yours until he opened a door in the palace cellar in hell. His deeds are remembered. By the way Vex! How cool!

Have a question can there be multiple Necromancers if u play with friends? How much skeleton can u even make and imagine each Necro using one of each Golems U have Clay, Metal, Fire and Blood golem at the same time. Someone can focus on Skeleton while other focus on Skeletal, one can focus on Revived monster and everyone focus on their own Golem. And if they want they can also have one shooting teeths and making bone wall/cages.
Yes there can be up to 8 summon necro's in a game. People used to do that to create lag and cause disconnects. I dno about exactly how many summons you can get but I would guess about a crapton

Yeah that was pretty close. I dno, I just do whatever I feel like on normal. Clay golem is probably better though. Depends on how much the build needs it and how much I'm in the mood to shop, there is no set amount of time. But it can easily take a while.

How much the skeleton skills were changed in d2r? I remember doing the normal act bosses in players8 with ssf full skeleton builds, and never really had problems keeping my minions alive. I was honestly surprised that you had to run in circles around Diablo and Baal, and they took you so much time. Basically the first 20 skillpoints went straight into raise skelly, next 20 into mastery, with the exception of 1 points into summon resist and amp damage, and the skeletons were mostly unkillable, while doing great damage.
I think I did my leveling up a bit suboptimally. I did a mix of raise skeleton and skeleton mastery. I'm also usually much lower level than people expect me to be at certain points which might be a factor as well.
Not really, I just add the points based on what I feel I need. Best for this one is max skellies en skelly mastery first. A point in amp damage, iron maiden and in a golem of your choice, after that it's kind of see what you like

I'm always happy to find Kelpie Snare. It's such a good weapon, especially considering how easy it is to find it. Yeah fana on a merc is a massive shift in power for this build. And it already was very good
Summon Necro has always been my favorite character in the game. Just a safe, relaxing stroll through the hell, not worried about kill speed, taking time to smell the roses. I've never heard of that bow before, I think I have to try it now! I think you would be even safer with some points in Dim Vision, but why fix what isn't broken?
I saw people using the bow on a speedrun. I had never thought of it on a summoner before that. Between a Hustle , might merc and the new bow tech you actually don't really smell the roses anymore cause there is some real power and speed now. It comes at the cost of safety so beware of that. Dim vision is fine if you want it. I just didn't feel a need for it.

Thank you! It's just different but the quality is the same once your used to it. It plays very well. I can play d2 on kbm and controller but prefer controller cause my hands and wrists start hurting after a while on kbm while I've been using controllers for 35 years without any problems ever
And about picking a goal and sticking with it. I just don't stop editing until I'm happy with the video :) I also just enjoy editing videos. It's like watching tv and just deleting all the boring stuff.
Yes, but it's very dependant on the items you find. A lot of it is if thing x is happening I should do thing A but if thing y is happening I should do thing b/c/d. Edit: i just add what I need on feel and instinct, so it's very touch and go. Also thank you! Glad you like them

You could use portal trick for the bosses, you know, you get back to city by the portal right next to the boss and when You come back, your summs are stacked in one place like when You use enigma, really cool thing. There should be noone wandering around like in some of your fights with baal etc.
On narrow corridors and tunnels always decrease your army for example when i do Pits ussualy I use 5 skeleton warriors and Merc,For Maggot lair 2 and Merc is totally fine
3:07 thats what the speed runners do but a safer less effort fight is decrep + clay golem because they attack so slow the skelly warriors dont die before the boss
Bosses shouldn’t be killing your minions. If you clay golem + Decrepify (and later holy freeze Act 2 Merc) the bosses all but stand there watching your minions pound them until die.
Teeth into respect after nm into summon does the entire Game easy af and i did It with a stealth and a 3 to teeth a1 wand that later became a White in a normal base
As a summon necro beating normal and nm is a breeze... Sorry I think you missed the most crucial skill as a summon, which is decrepify, plus the slow attack from clay golem you can comfortably cheese any bosses. Since monsters before hell are not as tanky I use rogue to cover the situation where monsters are out of reach for melee attack, and fire arrow rogue of course 😉
I always played summoner and my ex gf always played javzon. She would run to an area, TP me in and I would tank everything for her. We kicked ass back in the days for keys and organs.

summoner can beat normal difficulty compfortably on players 7/8 solo (in fact every class can given a bit of prep with runewords). not sure what you're doing. i guess /players 1 is harder cause you are underleveled all the time!?

@@thenuclearrabbit for the beginning and normal is great. Poison is awesome. For the druid summon, Just cast the Wolfes and behind kill with poison. Druid and rouge with tal bows, is safe. Even necro works fine. You can clear a lot of Shit! Dont forget corpse Explosion booom

summoner can beat normal difficulty compfortably on players 7/8 solo (in fact every class can given a bit of prep with runewords). not sure what you're doing. i guess /players 1 is harder cause you are underleveled all the time!?
I do players 8 at first but go to players 1 later in the run. I'm never underleveled I do the exact same leveling every single run for normal.
@@thenuclearrabbit whatever is the most fun for you. :) i usually do diablo at lvl ~31 and with decrepify my skeletons can take him down on players 7. no iron maiden needed.
@@fo0liner1985 Oh yeah no we have a very different thought on what underleveled means. At lvl 31 I am usually well into nightmare. But as you said. Just do whatever is fun for you. It's just a video game after all haha

I dont understand why people struggle with necro. The most easy is the summoner. Keep the rouge as merc. Put 3 tals in a bow!

@@thenuclearrabbit for the beginning and normal is great. Poison is awesome. For the druid summon, Just cast the Wolfes and behind kill with poison. Druid and rouge with tal bows, is safe. Even necro works fine. You can clear a lot of Shit! Dont forget corpse Explosion booom
There is a Ranger build(Druid)with a witchwild string. It works fine! Cheap and good.

Ahhhh as kinda expirienced summoner i can tell u, wrong curses half time ( correct curse and character positioning, and of course ce its your only job), and mages suck. Btw nice vid.
