As soon as you took off the side panel clips instantly started to cringe. I knew this is beyond what I’m confident to do. Props to you for knowing all of this. From one engineer to another, I salute you my friend.
The lack of a gauge cluster in the Model 3 is a major pet peeve of mine and turned me off of buying one, good to know there's a decent option now to add one. Nice job on the installation walk through.
Thank you very much for your feedback. I think this device provides option for many folks how want a display cluster life yourself. It has been working well for me and I use it more than I thought I would. Thanks again.
Shiva, you did a great job explaining everything on this video. I have watched similar videos and no one has explained that obd plug like you do in this video. Watching your video gives me confidence I can install this on my own. Thanks Shiva, keep up the good work my man.
This solves one of the things I strongly dislike about the Model 3, I'm glad this exists. From my experience having a speedometer in front of you can save you a speeding ticket or even losing your license, that's especially good in a car that accelerates faster than average.
Hello, I agree, this device would help many people and at least offers an option to those who want it. Thank you very much for watching my video. I really appreciate your time.
Probably the best installation video for this unit that I have seen. I have had mine for 6 months, but always get "Searching for Network" when using Waze. Looking for more detailed instructions on the software setup with Android. I moved the GPS unit to the windshield instead of inside the dashboard, but no improvement.
Thank you very much for your kind words. Please contact Hansshow for that issue. You might have a defective GPS unit. Waze should work well with your phone's cellular network. Thanks.
This is awesome Shiva. I’m from Australia and have bought the right hand drive version. I do a a fair number of DIY install videos for the RHD markets. And I will definitely Give ur channel a plug when I make my video mate. Great stuff.
Thanks for making this video, the style of this unit looks a little more works. Wish the manufacturer would attempt to copy the Tesla UI to make it look more stock. But for me, I just wish someone would make a simple heads up display that was minimalistic that showed your speed and some other basic info, that’s all I really need.
Hi Mihir, thanks for watching my video and for your feedback. I agree, I wish they would copy more of the Tesla UI. That might be the case with future software update. I think there are some HUD displays that coming out to the market soon that shows basic info. I saw this one pop up the other day, haven't really looked into it. Topfit might send me one for review, so stay tuned. amzn.to/3gjGnla
Hi I am in the uk and waiting for the Giga Berlin version of the model Y I will definitely get this front display as I think my wife would need it and it has android auto etc I will be watching all your videos on this and Tesla. I too am an engineer retired. I was in the airforce electronics so I can work on my car like you Keep up the videos
Hi James, thank you very much for your support. They are constructing Giga Berlin very rapidly, so hope you get your Model Y soon. Nice to e-meet a fellow engineer. Are you an EE?
Thank you for the informative video. The display also worked very well until the last Tesla update (Dec. 2022). Now there are a few minor bugs: - High beam indicator - Engine temperature display - Seat bells flickers Is the update link up to date? There are no more updates available for this display on the Hansshow website. Can the display be retrofitted with OTA?
@@youtubehandleofficial I wish Tesla offered this as an option. Most people actually like not having a cluster but there are folks who cannot drive without a cluster. So, would be nice if Tesla offered it as an add on. Thanks for watching my my video.
Definitely agree, although I believe the term “Heads up” refers to the Glass reflected instrumentation, these are definitely of the more traditional, consumer friendly “Instrument Panel”
Great Video‼️ Thank You 🙏🏻. I want ONLY ONE THING … CarPlay in my new Tesla Model Y‼️ Personally I don’t care about HUD or instruments or anything else … Just CarPlay. Unfortunately, blocking the air flow is a show stopper for me. So THANK YOU for pointing this out. Are you aware of ANY OTHER CarPlay options for Tesla? Could this unit be jury rigged to somehow mount UNDER the main display? Again Thank you 🙏🏻
Hi Jim, thank you very much for your feedback. Unfortunately, this device cannot be mounted under the main Tesla display. have heard of an app called TeslaMirror that can allow mirroring your phone to the center screen but the reviews are quite bad...Another product is a mount for an iPad mini, which could provide some of the "carplay" functionality if you have an ipad and want to use that as an screen. Hope more products come out that provide carplay without blocking the air soon! I will be sure to review those products if someone comes out with one:) Thank you again for your kind words.
The 4.9 is the tire pressure in bar, not psi. 1 Psi is equal to 0.0689475729 bar. To convert psi to bar, multiply the psi value by 0.0689475729 or divide by 14.5037738. ... Psi (pound force per square inch) is 1 pound of force per square inch. 1 psi = 0.0689475729 bar.
To connect this connector from screen is much easier to remove glove box and then connect it to computer of the car. In this video you tried to do it from underneath the glov box and that is very difficult. I do that first and when my screen didn`t work, I get a new one. This time I remove the glove box and that way was much easier to put everything in place.
This is great bro. I am strongly considering this. Thanks for sharing the code, if I purchase it, I will for sure use your code. Your videos are legit man, I hope youtube's algorithm finds this video like the last display video. You get straight to the point and waste no time. You really deserve more views and subs.
Hi Jose, thank you so very much for your kind words and support to my channel. It really means a lot to me. I hope this video takes off like the last one 🤞
Hello, unfortunately, Tesla service center won't install after market accessories like this one. However, Hansshow (the vendor) has installers in many part of the world. If you are interested in this display, please reach out to Hansshow and they will look for an installer in your area. Thank you very much for watching my video.
Great video man! Question, do you think it added reflection on your windshield on a sunny day? Like seeing the display completely reflected on the windshield
This display was such a clever design have they improved now in 2022 it would be nice to see another video with the improvements made you put such in-depth on the videos that make it such a pleasure to watch thanks for your great knowledge and information that you share
Did my install today. That OBD2 plug almost did me in!! So glad it's over. For some reason the screen thinks my car is white when it's red like yours. Any idea why? Thanks again for posting this!!!
Hi James, I didn't know about that either. I saw that in Hansshow's instructions and realize if you don't complete that step in 2 minutes, your audio might not work for a while. You will have to leave your car locked for an hour for the audio to reset. Thanks for your continuous support to my channel, I really appreciate it. It really means a lot to me.
@@jamespeterson7100 Yeah that is what I would think but Hansshow puts that warning in big letters to complete that step under 2 minutes. I think the reason is even though the 12V is disconnected, the main Tesla battery might still be "connected" to the car.
Hi David, thanks for watching and video and for your feedback. I will definitely pass your feedback along to Hansshow. I think they should start sending these displays with a matte tempered glass protector, not just for glare but also to protect the screen. I really appreciate the input.
Hello, a couple of ways you can do this. First, once you go into the car settings, there is little person icon on the top with your name. If you click on that, there is an option for Valet mode as a profile. Second, you can tap on safety and security and when you scroll down, you will see a line item called "speed limit mode". You can lower the speed there prior to exiting the car. Hope this helps. Thank you.
Hi! Awesome video. I bought this one because the new one doesn't allow customization. With that said, how do you work background and wallpaper customization?
What's the GPS receiver for? Does it have its own map app in addition to the car's and the phone's? Also, why is it an external dongle? The unit itself already sits in a perfect spot to have reception with a built-in one...
Hello, thanks for watching my video. From what I can tell the additional GPS receiver is to boost the existing signal strength. This is essentially an android tab and they don't have a good GPS reception. The external dongle picks up over 40 satellite signals.
@@anoopster I will be testing it with an Android phone soon. No one in my family has an android phone, so going to borrow one from someone to test. I will include some Android auto demo in my next video. Thank you.
hi it is actually a good product. if they can add more feature, same installation but add HUD at the back of that product. that would be perfect! make their bezels smaller, increase nits/pixel density. it is not a problem vents are blocking air towards your face, it also aid your 3rd party screen cooled down. i would really see that display to have HUD projector behind, and that product will be perfect!
Hello, thank you very much for your feedback. I will pass it along to the manufacturer. A HUD in the back of this display would be really awesome. Thanks for watching my video.
Nice detail video showing how to install the add on instrument to the Tesla. I still prefer not adding anything, and keep the dash simple and clean as the original. I think the add on display make the inside looks ugly with two displays.
Thanks for watching my video and providing your feedback. I really appreciate it. Yes, most people prefer not having a display like this but there are some folks who want a cluster.
Very cool and detailed video as always, Shiva! What a cool display. I like how you can customize the wallpaper of the display, can you please show how to do that in your next video? Thanks!
Thank you. I really like how this looks and how easily you can customize it. I will do a detail video soon on how to change the wallpaper and entry logo.
Hi Shiva, it looks like you rely on the right scroll wheel to operate the unit as well as by touching the screen, what happens when you're in the mode where the right scroll wheel is engaged to operate Tesla features, eg. adjusting steering wheel position, adjusting car length during auto pilot mode (left click on right scroll wheel). Does it interfere with Tesla right scroll wheel operation in anyway?
That is a great question. Almost all Tesla control is done through the left control wheel instead of the right one that this display uses. When you put the car on autopilot or TACC, this display doesn't use the right wheel at all so that wheel is reserved for all the autopilot car length settings etc. So, no, it doesn't interfere with Tesla settings. Thank you.
@@ShivaSapkota Thanks, that clears up a lot of uncertainty, how do you like it so far? May I suggest pairing it with yoke steering wheel for your next project 😁
Hi Shiva, I have installed the screen and it's working perfectly apart from one minor annoyance. The speed limit which is adjacent to the mph is always incorrect. I live in the UK so perhaps that has some bearing on it. I have tried a couple of things but with zero success. My phone is an Apple iPhone xs max. If you can shed any light on this I would appreciate it. Many thanks Rich
Hi Rich, do you have the latest updates installed? The speed limit should read whatever Tesla is reading. I had that issue in the beginning but the subsequent updates took care of the issue. You can find the latest updates here: drive.google.com/drive/folders/1F1xBgDk-XxiU7vyhySva4Szcs8DbCkmH
@@ShivaSapkota Hi Shiva, thank so much for your help. The problem I have is I am a bit of a technophobe so got a little lost following your update info. Will the Hansshow Screen automatically update when I get the next Tesla update as they are connected?
@@richwwardrugby Hi Rich, no the hansshow requires its own update that the company pushes. You will have to download the update files and manually update the screen whenever Hansshow has new updates. Here is a tutorial on how to do that: th-cam.com/video/SaGz0URyVEY/w-d-xo.html
Hi my friend thanks for this great video by the way on a 2022 model tesla 3 where do I connect the harness cable to the computer on board ,odb which is the one I disconnect and connect the hannshow harness?
What is the startup time like when you get in the car? Is it asleep with instant wake like the main display or does it take a while to turn on? Also, could you provide any details on how it might interface audio with the car? Can I play music (or maps voice) through the car's speakers?
Hi Alex, the startup time is about 10 secs as the car wakes up (similar to the main Tesla display). This devices device has a dedicated Bluetooth channel for your car, so it will connect to your car's BT. It has a separate Bluetooth channel for your phone to connect to the apple carplay etc. So, if you play music on this device, it will play through your car's speakers. This is true while using Carplay as well. Essentially, your phone sends a signal to this display and then the display plays audio through your car. This device does have its own speaker but that can only be used for navigation. Hope this answers your questions, thanks for watching my video. I am currently in a process of recording several videos covering all the settings and tutorials for this display.
Can you do a video showing the interaction of CarPlay and the built in software. For example, what happens when you get an inbound text message. Does the Tesla take it? Does CarPlay take it? Do you not connect your phone to the Tesla? What if you are running Waze on the screen and Tesla routing at the same time so you have speed trap alerts but also get routed thru super chargers. etc. would love to understand the experience running CarPlay alongside the Tesla built in software.
Great video Shiva! Few questions:- Does this unit have wireless Android Auto? Please do a video of how Android Auto works on it. How does music play back sound from this unit when connected to phone via Bluetooth, CarPlay or Android Auto? Can you change tracks and volume using steering controls? What steering controls are overridden with this display installed? Is the display laggy like other after market head units? Would you say the blocked air is a deal breaker? Is there Google Play Store on it? Can you install other apps or apks on it? Can you change the Android launcher on it? Can you plug in a USB drive and play music off it? How's the quality? How does it work when the car gets instructions from both this unit and the Tesla Center display? What happens when both are trying to play music? Lastly, will it void Tesla Warranty?
Hi Kartheek, thanks for all your questions. I will address them in my next video. Here are some responses: -Yes, it has wireless Android Auto and I will borrow someone's Android phone to do a demo in my next video -It does not override any steering control. Since all your car settings are done by left control and this display uses right scroll wheel. The only thing it changes every time you tap right or left on that right scroll wheel, your car's follow distance changes. When the car is in autopilot, the screen becomes read only and cannot be changed using the scroll wheel. -The display does not lag and is instant -The blocked air could be a deal breaker if you absolutely need full force air blown to your face. Keep in mind the air still gets to your face but not as much -According to the FTC and one of my subscribers who took the car to Tesla with a similar display installed, Tesla won't automatically void the warranty but let's say if this device shorts Tesla's computer or causes any damage due to installation, Tesla will void your warranty for just that part that was damaged. Thanks again for your questions, for watching my videos and supporting my channel.
Regarding the five screws you need to fasten the unit. I presume it puts holes in the dash piece. If or when you were to remove the Hansshow display, will the holes be visible?
Hi Rick, you don't need to make any holes to fasten the unit. Those holes are there already in the car for airflow. Thanks for watching my video and for your questions.
Is it possible to replicate the FSD/autopilot visualization, I mean replicate the exact same Tesla UI? It would be great if we could choose to display only FSD and speed
Unfortunately not at the moment. I looked through the codes and Tesla makes it pretty hard to mimic the autopilot visualization especially because this device is not connected to any of the cameras. They are constantly looking for ways to improve the product, so hopefully one day we will get there.
Hello, yes I tried lighter background and it did help a little but a Matte finish on the screen would have been nice. I am trying to find a screen protector that fits this screen. Thanks for watching my video and sharing your thoughts. I really appreciate it.
As I said in comments to another video of yours, the people at Tesla told me that all of this would void the warranty even though you say that it would not. I am still waiting for my Model Y order and it would be great if Tesla just made these changes to the design themselves. It would be great to see a company take over these ideas and provide a service to install whatever mods a customer would like to have done. They could call it TeslaMods-R-Us or whatever would be a catchy business name. Myself, I would screw this up royally and be spewing expletives within 5 minutes after breaking something as I would try something like this.
Hi David, unfortunately, the warranty question has been quite confusion. I took my car to service with this device installed and the Tesla rep thought it was pretty cool. He didn't say anything about the warranty and thought Tesla should install these. This has been the experience of some of my subscribers as well. However, a few folks told me that Tesla recommended they remove this device because it was sending some CAN messages to the computer and the warranty wouldn't be voided if the device doesn't do such things. Hansshow sent them some update and those messages were gone. I agree with you, I wish Tesla would allow authorized shops to install things like this.
@@ShivaSapkota thanks for your reply. Being blind in my left eye, I was a bit uneasy looking to the right for the screen and then back to the road when I test drove a Y, since I have a bit of an issue with depth perception. Depending on what Chevy does about my current Bolt’s battery recall situation in the next month, there is a slight chance I may stick with the Bolt. Not a fan of how GM is handling the situation. Thanks again.
@@dfsbass I totally understand. Do you think a slightly tilted screen facing towards you from the right would help with your situation? I recently reviewed a swivel mount kit and many people are telling me that they can see speed, maps and other information much closer to them and don't have to turn too much towards the right to see it. I don't know if it would help but wanted to let you know. Hope GM takes care of you and fix the battery issues. Thanks!
Wow Awesome Shiva! I don't mind Tesla add this car display for extra charge...U should introduce this feature to Tesla as a subcontractor...Kudos To U...Or Tesla should make one like that as a product improvement across the dashboard similar for what u just installed...Do u install for private Tesla owner?
Thank you very much for your kind words and support. I agree, I wish Tesla would offer something like this as an option. Yes, I perform some easier installation like this one for other owners. I hesitate to do bigger install for folks due to liability issues. I don't mind ripping apart my own Tesla though haha. Thank you.
What license plate holder do you have. I noticed you were able to attach the camera to the License plate holder, but it didn't look like the stock one.
Hi Shive with your Hansshaw screen dose the Tesla navigation screen come up onto the Hansshaw screen I've installed the Hansshaw screen but can't get the Tesla navigation to come up on it Thanks for the install instructions Cheers Allan
Great job. Thanks for sharing. I have this screen and I agree, a fun DIY installation... except for that OBD port 😬 that's tough. I just got AndroidAuto working and will install my blind spot camera soon👍
Thanks Chris. Yes that OBD port is difficult. I have had to access that several times for various products and I am getting a hang of it now. I am glad to hear that AndroidAuto is working for you, I need to borrow an android phone from a friend to test it out for my next video. The blind spot camera is fairly easy to install, I hope Tesla has a rubber plug in that spot for you.
So question, and I apologize if you covered this in the video, but you can use the right scroll wheel to control the screen? Does that mean the right scroll wheel no longer controls auto-pilot speed/distance?
When you put the car on autopilot, the screen becomes touch screen only. You can no longer use the right scroll wheel to control the screen, so you can use that wheel to control the autopilot speed/distance. The only annoying thing is when you are not using the autopilot and controlling the screen using the scroll wheel, it changes the follow distance. Since that is saved to your driver profile, next time you put the car in autopilot your follow distance could be 5 cars instead of 1 car you originally set. Please let me know if you have any questions at any time. Thank you.
Hi Shiva, now that you have tried both (this and the Mickey mouse), which one is more effective presenting important driving info like speed, charge state, autopilot info... . I meant in a quick glance while driving, which one is providing you more info. And also, how do you compare the 2 in terms of amount of air blocked from the vent?
Hi Juan, with their current software, both displays provide all the critical information I need. They both show speed, range, blinkers etc in big. I think the Topfit display has higher quality graphics and looks more embedded to the car. I think this Hansshow display blocks more air since it is bigger and is physically blocking the air vents. If you don't need the Carplay and other features that the Hansshow provides and just want to see the car info, I think the Topfit one is a way to go. It is easier installation, not overwhelming and you can get the display faster through Amazon. I feel like that display provides just enough information I want. However, if you want more features, customizations, front blind spot camera etc. this hansshow one is better. The price is about the same after you use my code for Hansshow. Thanks for watching my videos and supporting my channel. I really appreciate your time.
So basically the device works awesome and the installation is very easy just sticking it to OBD and run a bridge but you had to do a lot of extra works for the camera only
That seems great. But I do not see the point in a camera that is bound to get dirty (better if they could use the backup camera) + you have a windscreen and a view that is more detailed (your eyes).
Hi Mikael, thanks for your feedback. Yes, I drove in a storm the other day and the camera was plugged with snow. However, this has been nice when the weather is not bad. I like how I can see the front obstruction visually in addition to Tesla's distance sensor read. The camera also turns on automatically when Tesla's sensors pick up obstructions within 18 inches. Thanks for watching my video.
Hi Frank, yes it does block the airflow. It is definitely noticeable but hard to quantify how much air it blocks. I plan on doing some simple testing in my future videos to show before and after airflow. Thanks for watching my video.
@@ShivaSapkota This display solves so many reasons not to get a Model 3 for me and "I cannot stand airflow in my face" is one of them. I just wish it would solve the "I splurged on my last car calculating to keep it for 8 years and then the motor died adding 3 additional years", too ;) ;)
Good stuff, thanks. I installed mine a few days ago and that connector is tough to get at and I found my self in the same position as you. The Hansshow install video I viewed showed them removing the plastic trim that covers the door sill. When I did this there is more room to get your hand on the connector. Not a lot but enough for me. Also I had the connector disconnected from more that 2 minutes as I struggled to reinstall harness. I did not have any issues though such as error messages with the car. By all means disconnect the 12 volt battery before you start. I would suggest counting the holes and placing the display and do a check fit. My display is 22 holes holes over not 20. I did 20 and it was not centered for me. I read where another person also used 22. Just check before installing all the hardware is all I’m saying. I really like the display and am looking for anti glare screen protector to see if that helps. The documentation is weak and trying to connect the different apps is frustrating but I will subscribe and hope to learn as we go. Thanks again, I know its a lot of work putting these videos together. Ted
Hi Ted, thank you very much for supporting my channel and for your input. Now you mention the 22 holes, I might have to go back and fix it. The little dot on the screen (looks like a camera) is aligned with my Tesla logo in the steering wheel. So, I thought it was centered but my wife has been telling me it looks about 1/2 inch more towards the left. I thought it might have been her OCD but if yours was 22 holes, it would make sense. If that is the case, Hansshow's instructions were wrong. Yes, the documentation is hard to follow but I find the display basically an android tablet. I have been able to customize the wallpaper, main logo etc. As you said, we will learn this thing together and I will try to figured out all the settings soon to make another follow up video. Thanks again for your insight, I really appreciate the support.
Good to hear removing the door sill & side panel provides more room. Tried to install my unit a couple weeks ago, but gave up after about an hour and having all the blood run to my head from being upside down. Guess I will remove the door sill and try again
@@gtibbot Removing the door sill panel provided enough room to barely get my hand in. When I attached the new connector to the car computer I also pre bent the wires coming out of the connector. Not a lot, use common sense, but this will give you more room as you struggle to get the connector seated into the computer.
Hello from Berlin / Germany, can the display also show kilometers and degrees Celsius? Where can I buy the display? Is there a manufacturer name? And hopefully the part is reliable :)

I really like your review. I bought one and connected to my Tesla model 3 but I'm facing a weird issue I don't know if you have seen this or not but after connecting this the GPS on my Tesla went haywire and it's accuracy is all over the place now and generally shows I'm somewhere within the range of about 20 mi from my actual location. Have you seen this issue? If yes how did you fix it?
Hi Kumar, that is very strange. That issue suggests that somehow this device is feeding data back to the Tesla computer which shouldn't be happening. If you go to your notification section under service, do you see a whole bunch of alerts? If so, this device is trying to incorporate CAN messages and Hansshow will send you a patch to fix it. Please reach out to Hansshow and their engineers should be able to send you an update asap. Thanks!
@@ShivaSapkota I have reached out to them let's see what they come back with. If I disconnect the GPS then the Android auto or the Apple carplay navigation does not work.
Thanks for the detailed install video. A couple of questions regarding the speaker on the back of the screen. What is the speaker used for? When using car play for navigation or music, is the audio feed through the speaker on the back of the screen or through the car speakers?
Hi Frank, thanks for watching my video. The speaker is only used for built in navigation, it cannot play music etc. This display will need to be connected to Tesla's bluetooth for audio.
Hello Shiva. I just got Android Auto working wirelessly! However... the audio is still off pitch on all applications sent to the Tesla via the Tesla Screen Bluetooth... do you know the solution?
Hi Chris, that issue hasn't been resolved by Hansshow. People are still having bluetooth issues. I saw on their release notes from last night's update that it fixes "echo" problems. I wonder how true that is though. I did see some bluetooth update files back a couple updates ago with instructions in Chinese on downloading some android app and running the actual BT update, I wonder if that would fix these issues? Hansshow hasn't said anything to me yet. drive.google.com/drive/folders/1F1xBgDk-XxiU7vyhySva4Szcs8DbCkmH
@@ShivaSapkota oh.. I left my garage and now it doesn't work again. Looks like it requires both devices to be on the same network? Doesn't seem correct. Should be only a Bluetooth connection requirement 🤔
Hi, thanks for the video. If you play music over the car play, (if the phone is not connected to the Tesla via BT) does the sound come out of the Tesla speakers?
Hello, that is a great question. You need to first connect your Tesla's bluetooth to the Hansshow's bluetooth. It is named as "Tesla Screen BT". Once your car is connected to the display's bluetooth, your phone will play music through Tesla's speakers even if your phone is not directly connected to Tesla's bluetooth. Hope this makes sense, thanks for watching my video.
Thanks, which screen do you recommend that is the best quality and best value for the money, this car play or the other 2 round screens. (Mikey mouse )
That is a great question. I am currenting working on a video to do a detailed comparison between the two displays. I will have that video posted hopefully within the next few days. It all depends on if you want the extra features or if you something simple yet shows all the critical car information. The Topfit one (Mickey Mouse) is much easier to install, has higher graphics quality, blocks less air and can be height adjusted. This Hansshow one on the other had has extra features such as Carplay etc. It also looks more "regular shaped". Stay tuned for that video where I discuss everything in detail. Thank you for watching my video.
Just remembered to sub! You are doing a great job of reminding me I did not do enough research before buying my Tesla haha. I turned down the MY because it had no instrument panel 🤦
I'm building my own dash out of an android phone and I can get Autopilot status but I can't access the set speed for the AP speed. Do you have this on the hansshow?
I would probably go with 10.25" Android version. Its not hard to access it because you can control the screen using right scroll wheel. The top arch of your steering wheel does block some view of the screen, but you can always adjusted your steering wheel.
Great technical content and details for product installation. Quick question looks like you were able to mirror your phone to the display, and there are serval products and approaches for doing that but do you know of way to do the opposite i.e., mirror the Tesla display to you phone?
Hello, thank you very much for watching my video and for your support. Unfortunately, I am not aware of such methods. I know you can download some apps to technically project your phone to the main Tesla display via web browser but there is nothing out there that can cast the Tesla display to your phone. Hence, manufacturers are coming up with displays like this to hardwire and extract that info from Tesla's computer.
Saying that unplugging that port on the MCU was "difficult" is such an understatement 😆🤣 I got the Boost50 mod for my 2020 SR+ and had to do what you did with that port and Oh. My. God. That was the WORST thing I've ever done and had to mess with. Never again do I want to see that port! 🤬😆
Hi Matt, yup that plug sucks! I almost gave up on it when I was installing the topfit display. This time around, it was much easier. It felt like that plug was welded to the MCU haha. Thanks for watching my video.

Hi Sandro, that sounds great. Congrats in advance on your Model 3. This has been a great car for the last 2+ years. Thanks for watching my video.
Man, great video!! I don't see me doing this myself but definitely like watching it being done. Cheers!

Thanks for doing this video with detailed instructions. One option to reduce the glare is to use a matte screen protector that they sell for laptops.
Thanks for watching my video, I really appreciate your time. I will check out your channel.

Thank you for the informative video. The display also worked very well until the last Tesla update (Dec. 2022). Now there are a few minor bugs:
- High beam indicator
- Engine temperature display
- Seat bells flickers
Is the update link up to date? There are no more updates available for this display on the Hansshow website.
Can the display be retrofitted with OTA?
Very sleek option for the people not used to not having a front cluster display. I'm probably gonna stick with the clean look tho. Great review man
Thank you very much. Yes, this offers an option for folks who are used to having a cluster.

@@youtubehandleofficial I wish Tesla offered this as an option. Most people actually like not having a cluster but there are folks who cannot drive without a cluster. So, would be nice if Tesla offered it as an add on. Thanks for watching my my video.
They definitely need this, I’d rather have a heads up display than none at all.
Hi Mel, yes I wish Tesla would offer something similar. Thanks for watching my video.
Definitely agree, although I believe the term “Heads up” refers to the Glass reflected instrumentation, these are definitely of the more traditional, consumer friendly “Instrument Panel”
@@grkvain That is really true. They do make some Glass reflected displays and I hope to review one in my channel some day.

Thanks Kevin. I appreciate the input. They fixed the readings now. I can change between PSI and Bar.
Thanks for your feedback. I have heard mixed feelings about removing the glove box, glad to hear it worked out well for you. Thanks.

Hi. I didn’t know you only had two minutes to replace the plugs under the dash. What is the tesla protection mode? I haven’t heard of that.
@@ShivaSapkota Hmmm that’s interesting. 🤔 I would think once you shut down the power to the vehicle it would eliminate that problem.
@@jamespeterson7100 Yeah that is what I would think but Hansshow puts that warning in big letters to complete that step under 2 minutes. I think the reason is even though the 12V is disconnected, the main Tesla battery might still be "connected" to the car.

Hi how can I put the Tesla on valet parking, how to set it up so when my son drives it I could set the speed limit. Thank you
Hello, a couple of ways you can do this.
The external dongle picks up over 40 satellite signals.
great work, big Tesla fan, but all Tesla cars should already have this

Thank you for your inform. How do I set the full screen when I use the carplay? I only see the carplay screen with the vehicle information.
Hi my friend thanks for this great video by the way on a 2022 model tesla 3 where do I connect the harness cable to the computer on board ,odb which is the one I disconnect and connect the hannshow harness?
Awesome content but could this display be a weakness in the car security for hackers? Also a matte screen protector can reduce glare and fingerprints
@@ShivaSapkota thanks!
Hi Mark, yes I will make that one of my future videos. Thanks for your feedback.
Great video Shiva!
Few questions:-
Does this unit have wireless Android Auto?
Here are some responses:
-Yes, it has wireless Android Auto and I will borrow someone's Android phone to do a demo in my next video
-It does not override any steering control. Since all your car settings are done by left control and this display uses right scroll wheel. The only thing it changes every time you tap right or left on that right scroll wheel, your car's follow distance changes. When the car is in autopilot, the screen becomes read only and cannot be changed using the scroll wheel.
-The display does not lag and is instant
-The blocked air could be a deal breaker if you absolutely need full force air blown to your face. Keep in mind the air still gets to your face but not as much
-According to the FTC and one of my subscribers who took the car to Tesla with a similar display installed, Tesla won't automatically void the warranty but let's say if this device shorts Tesla's computer or causes any damage due to installation, Tesla will void your warranty for just that part that was damaged.
Thanks again for your questions, for watching my videos and supporting my channel.

Regarding the five screws you need to fasten the unit. I presume it puts holes in the dash piece. If or when you were to remove the Hansshow display, will the holes be visible?

Is it possible to replicate the FSD/autopilot visualization, I mean replicate the exact same Tesla UI? It would be great if we could choose to display only FSD and speed
Unfortunately not at the moment. I looked through the codes and Tesla makes it pretty hard to mimic the autopilot visualization especially because this device is not connected to any of the cameras. They are constantly looking for ways to improve the product, so hopefully one day we will get there.
Glare is pretty hard to fix with software update. While it can help some...the real glare reduction would have been a matte finish on the screen.
@@dfsbass I totally understand. Do you think a slightly tilted screen facing towards you from the right would help with your situation?
Please explain how you got Android Auto to work
So question, and I apologize if you covered this in the video, but you can use the right scroll wheel to control the screen?
Thank you.
@@ShivaSapkota makes perfect sense, thanks!
So basically the device works awesome and the installation is very easy just sticking it to OBD and run a bridge but you had to do a lot of extra works for the camera only
Hello, yes that is correct. However, removing the original Tesla connector from the OBD plug is extremely difficult. Thank you.
Is there an instruction manual for this unit? I'm trying to get the audio to come out of the Model Y speakers instead of the unit's built in speaker.

@@ShivaSapkota This display solves so many reasons not to get a Model 3 for me and "I cannot stand airflow in my face" is one of them. I just wish it would solve the "I splurged on my last car calculating to keep it for 8 years and then the motor died adding 3 additional years", too ;) ;)
@@HenryLoenwind That makes sense. Hope tesla is working on fixing the second issue :) Thanks for watching my video.
So an Android device is running Apple Car Play ... this is crazy ;)
I know!! I was confused in the beginning but that is true.
@@Tdog500 Ted, thanks for answering these questions and sharing your experience. I really appreciate it.
@@gtibbot I hope removing the door panel helps you with the installation. Good luck and thanks for watching my video.
Just installed. Love my CarPlay. Where did you download the new updates from Hansshow
Does it show Tesla's own navigation? and does TH-cam work while the car is driving?
Hello from Berlin / Germany,
can the display also show kilometers and degrees Celsius? Where can I buy the display? Is there a manufacturer name? And hopefully the part is reliable :)
Hello, yes this display can show both kilometers and degrees Celsius. The manufacturer is reliable and I have installed lots of product from this company. Use the following link and my discount code (SHIVATESLA) to get 15% OFF. bit.ly/3qW4F8O
Thanks!
@@ShivaSapkota hello shiva no I don’t see any errors under notifications. That’s the weird part.
@@ShivaSapkota I have reached out to them let's see what they come back with. If I disconnect the GPS then the Android auto or the Apple carplay navigation does not work.
Good job Shiva, iI like very much.
Thank you!
Wow that’s a must have for Tesla.
Yes, this is pretty cool. I wish Tesla would offer something like this from the factory. Thanks!

@@ShivaSapkota oh.. I left my garage and now it doesn't work again. Looks like it requires both devices to be on the same network?
Doesn't seem correct. Should be only a Bluetooth connection requirement 🤔
Wow this accessory looks really nice!
Thanks Brandan! This has indeed been a great mod for my car.
Thank you. Can you do a comparison review of the major instrument displays available in the US market?
Awesome video. Definitely plan on getting one down the road.
Thank you very much for your support. This device has been great and fun to play with.
Just remembered to sub! You are doing a great job of reminding me I did not do enough research before buying my Tesla haha. I turned down the MY because it had no instrument panel 🤦
Thank you my friend, I appreciate the support. These panels are honestly just surfacing in the market. Your Model X has way more features :)
Very nice cluster upgrade Shiva. Any updates since installing this in 2021? Thank you
Where do you run the gps block/puck unit to? I see it has 3m to mount somewhere, but the instructions don't mention it at all or where to place it
Hi Carlos, you can put that puck on the side trim by the door. Please check 6:01 of my video on how to do this. Thanks for watching my video.
I'm building my own dash out of an android phone and I can get Autopilot status but I can't access the set speed for the AP speed. Do you have this on the hansshow?
Yes I have that on the Hansshow screen. I haven't tried to debug the code to see the source.
Which size would you recommend for the 3 please? And is it hard to access it because it's behind the steering wheel?
I would probably go with 10.25" Android version. Its not hard to access it because you can control the screen using right scroll wheel. The top arch of your steering wheel does block some view of the screen, but you can always adjusted your steering wheel.
@@ShivaSapkota and that’s okay with an iPhone?
Also, finding someone to install has been a pain!
Thx for great video where can I buy these orange pry tool ?
Thank you. My pry tool came with various other products I reviewed but this kit seems to be great: amzn.to/2YPjLm3
Excellent work! Thanks for that detailed installation and explanation Video!
I am glad it was helpful. Thank you.
Saying that unplugging that port on the MCU was "difficult" is such an understatement 😆🤣
I got the Boost50 mod for my 2020 SR+ and had to do what you did with that port and Oh. My.
Hi Shiva, I am following up on your comments regarding Android Auto and Waze. Have you completed testing? I could not find a follow-up video.
Hello, unfortunately, I haven't completed that testing yet. I have been really busy with other videos but that one is in my list for sure. Sorry about the delay. Thanks!
hey shiv, thanks for the amazing video. cant wait to do this for my tesla.
Thank you very much!
