Yes, it has a band. The 5cm/2inches at the waist part that i marked at front and back trouser is the band. Then the zipper is at one side of the trouser… you can watch My Basic Trouser Block video with the sewing tutorial video on my channel.

Did you add zip allowance at the side or the ease allowance took care of that

No, I didn’t. My 1”/ 2.5cm seam and ease allowance took care of it.
