Awesome video! You're about the only person who actually recorded various angles and ACTUALLY shows the WHEELS & TIRES...others talk 20 + min in selfie mode, then show 2 sec's worth of how wheels/tires look.
i got 225/40/17 on my 13 civic Si and i absolutely LOVE them. Haven't been anywhere close to their breaking point yet and in the rain they are absolutely amazing. 80 mph on i95 no problem, no hydroplaning.
Eric Lindsay yeah I noticed that after I uploaded it. I think it was because there was so much background noise when I was talking. My bad. I'm still learning!
Thank you for this video. I have been searching for a video, where it shows the tires.. I already had an idea of how they felt well driven.. I just wanted a relaxing video showing off the look of the tires.
nice ride! I was debating if i should have lowered for awhile but caved just before i installed my rims. Similar specs rims but i went with a 255 35 18 tire. I went with the yellows RCE's and i must admit the car looks great lowered. However, if i saw your video before hand, i probably wouldn't have lowered it. Trade off is now i'm extra cautious about any bad roads, speed bumps and steep driveways. I would have to agree with you that as a daily driver, the comfort may be a bit more important. The gap really isn't too bad.
No doubt man, I know even when I go over bumps, and steep driveways etc I am super cautious as is already, I couldn't imagine being any lower. Especially after tonight when I install my new front lip.
Mike Turner hey, are you on Instagram? I wanted to see more pics of your car with your rims/tire/stock ride height combo. I'm thinking of putting my stock springs on.
Get a proper spring and you don’t have to worry about that, and there rce’s isn’t even a 1 inch drop 😂 You just got the wrong size tire…265’s are closer to oem size
2011 Sti sedan 18x9.5 5x114.3 +38 offset 255/35/18R This is my set up but haven’t put on the tires yet... do you think it’ll fit flush? Without hitting the brembos?
Love the car, and jesus those tires are beautiful my brotha. Look into these HKS Hipermax IV GT coilovers they look amazing and come prebalanced from the manufacture for your specific car. This year IS the year im getting my STI man, gotta put it out there in the universe. Everyone can help by praying for me that i get it :) please.
Thanks man. Yeah some coilovers would be nice, but I don't know if I want to get that extreme with it quite yet. Few other things I want done first. But good luck on getting your car man. You'll love it!
good job man putting a 265 width tire ive seen some subaru with same wheel spec but they put a lesser than 265 width tire and the end result the rim stick out than the tire, love how your tire is align with the rim and no logos on center caps :)
hey man i just got a 2021 and stumbled across your video. i don't like how the front wheels stick out from the car with the +38 offset, over the last few years of driving have you noticed any paint dings or anything due to this? thanks
I absolutely love the look! Do you have any rubbing issues and did you have to roll your fenders? I ask because I'm looking to put the same size wheels and the exact same tires on my 2017 WRX. Again, absolutely BEAUTIFUL ride!!!
Thanks man. No rolling, and no rubbing issues in any way shape or form. After doing a lot of research I found out that this set up is the biggest you can go without rubbing anywhere.
Hey man, I've got a MY15 sti and bought some 18×9.5+39 5-114.3 rays TE37SL's. I'm wanting to wrap them in 265/35/18 But everyone is telling me that it may not work, please reassure that this set up will work!! (Will only know if it fits when they're delivered but until then I'm quite anxious)
Hey man! Excellent wheel choice. So excellent, I want to get the exact setup. But, I can't seem to find any 18x9.5 +38 anywhere in our bolt pattern, in black. Where do you get these?!
Thank you! You can't find any? Really? Honestly, just google search exactly "18x9.5 +38 5x114" and see what pops up for you. Should give you a few choices.
KENNYTUBE DIVING what did you end up going with? I have the same wheel size 18x9.5 +40. I’m trying to figure out what size tires to get because I’m also have coil overs and plan to lower it a tad. I’m thinking 255 or 265.
@@MrNickxzr I'm pretty sure that's what I did but I didnt like it cause there wasnt enough meat on the tire so i would go 40 or 45 series theres plenty of room
Crazy, I saw this video and Im like oh a subie (I like subies and Im an Evo guy) and then I c its about the firehawks and I just baought them and installed them on my evo 9 yesterday, I am more than satisfied specially with what I paid for them.
Yeah man, hell of a good bang for your buck! I've put about 5000km on mine now and still look brand new out of the wrapping. Drive like a dream too. Super happy with them, and the wet condition driving is unreal!
Nice setup. I'm planning on installing the same setup and Have a question for you, did you have to use spacers on the front? The reason I'm asking is because I contact two vendors and both told me I need spacers in the front event hough I see a lot of sti with this setup and no mention of spacers. My sti is an 08 hatch, but I'm sure the caliper size is the same. Thanks in Advance!
Hey thanks man. No I do not have spacers on the front or rear. They sit flush with the car, and baaarely have room over the STi brembo calipers. But they don't rub or touch anywhere.
How'd the install go? My local vendors pretty much said the same thing. Problem is, spacers are illegal where I live so i don't have much room for error 😄
Robert Ocampo I don't think they installed tpms sensors in the 2017 years! After reading a bit, I could be mistaken. But I have put 5000kms on this setup now and have had zero warning lights come on. And the wheels and tires together, after mount and balance worked out to about $2500ish Canadian.
Nice looking wheels breh! Now time to get rid of that wheel gap and get some coils! Also nice new license plate I was thinking of getting that one too but still can't decide haha
What coils you looking at getting? I want to do 3 major mods, exhaust, coils and wheels but need the funds haha will have to worry about 1/3 first. Give us an update on the wheels when you break them in some more. Been looking at tires as well and want to know what's out there besides the re71 and pss
Not sure yet, might just get springs.. But next on my list is a turboback and those things are so damn expensive. So as of now I am done, until I save up for the tbe! So far have put about 700kms on the tires (I uploaded the vid a few days after I got them installed) and so far they have been unreal! Theyre a little noisy in town, but not bad on the highway at all. And grip and cornering is like no other. Even last night I drove about 80kms home in poring rain and I was hauling ass the entire way with no issues.
Yeah I would suggest you skip springs and go coils. If you go springs you won't be able to adjust and in the long run your struts will blow and will have to get coils in the end anyways. But yah that just my 2 cents. I look at it this way if you are going to go all out just do it once with quality parts and not twice haha
Hey brotha How are the tires for grip? I'm going to get them put on my car today..Thought I'd ask before I buy them..Have pss cup2 now and not a huge fan of them
Thanks bro. Yeah I plan on filming more, just busy with life. Don't have much time at the moment. Hopefully more time as the summer approaches. Just using my iPhone 7 at the moment. I have a nice digital sony camera I'll start using eventually. But the picture on the iphone is pretty awesome.
looking into getting a sti I'm 19 and make 200 a week live with my mom and dad need a new car do you think I should go with the wrx sti or the wrxi only travel 10 miles to work and back a day so whats you opinion mike would help a lot p.s love the vids man
Thanks for the comment.. but you only make $200 a week.. sorry man you'll never afford one of these at that rate. Not a new one anyways. Maybe look into a 2000-2005 STi or WRX. And as for which one, I am always partial to an STi but WRX's are cool too. Go for a test drive in a few and see what you feel.
I went to the dealership and got my price not as bad as I though I'm leasing so it's cheaper with my 6k down payment it's 340$ a month plus another 200 for insurance so 540 out of 800$ I make which I'm getting a raise soon and will be making 10$ an hour which will be an extra 100 or so a week thinking about going with just a plain wrx thanks for your help btw 😀
Iunno man, doesn't sound smart to me in my opinion. Not trying to burst your bubble or nothing.. But yeah so you're making $800 a month.. minus the $540 just for payments and insurance.. so you're left with $260.. so minus atleast another $100-150 for gas.. now you're left with $160-$110 a month.Do you pay your own cellphone bill? You must not want to live with mommy and daddy forever? Do you like to go to the movies with your friends? Do you like to grab a burger after work? all that is out the window. But hey, you'll have a cool car to sit in. Take my advice, save that $6000 down payment and take out a small $5000-10,000 loan from the bank and go find a car in that budget so you won't be broke. It took me 8 years to save up for this car and I currently make $50k a year.. It seems like a cool idea to get a sweet car, but there's many other options left for ya.
No worries man. Lots of cool cars still out there. Even if you're interested in Subarus, I'm sure you could find a few for below $15k. And if you want it faster just get a WRX, save a couple grand and buy an Access Port, turbo back exhaust and you're set =)
Absolutely ZERO issues ever running the 265. I'm very happy I went with this size. 255 is the minimum recommended size for 9.5" wide, so yes it will work for sure. I just like them faaat ;)
Yeah STi definitely has a better suspension set up than the WRX, but I'm pretty sure it's all the same stance at the end of the day. So I'm sure the WRX wheels would fit. Just google search 2015 wrx 265/35/18, and read through some forums, people will say whether or not it rubs after reading through.
Hey mike love the wheels a lot of meat there grip should b fantastic, just bought a sti myself first in the Republic of Ireland to get one as far as I know.looking forward to watching your mod vids to see what you do and maybe grab a few ideas myself, as it's the only one in the country trying to get mod parts for it is proving near impossible, may have to get them from the uk/ states. Will b putting up a vid soon. Anyway happy driving have to say have gone from a 08 wrx hawk eye myself to the sti and I love it, best decision I've made.
Hey Dave, right on brother! That sounds awesome, congrats on the new car. You'll love it the more and more you drive it. The hawkeyes are awesome, but this is a new level of awesome! haha. Thanks again man! =D
Amplified don’t do it. You’ll rub like crazy back and front. Good chance you’ll dent your fender with the wheel in the rear if you hit big enough bump.
I'm not much for aftermarket stuff but damn... those are are wicked wheels. you've a perfect set up on your car! everything you've done so far just works well! excellent job!
I'm on a 2018 wrx stock setup. Would 265/40/18 tires work with out rubbing on stock height? I just want to lessen the wheel gap with out lowering. But if I do lower my car I plan on just getting swift springs that provide .7-.8 Inch drop
sorry, I have no idea man. I'm not sure if the 2018's are set up differently. I know the STi's are.. so I'm not sure about the WRX's. If you just want to lessen the wheel gap, I would get springs and get a wheel alignment after. Should be good.
I was wonder if you knew if the 2015 Wrx with stock suspension could fit these? I don't believe there are any differences but I was wondering if you knew.
I can't tell you my price.. I got a really good deal on the wheels. They were a black friday sale. But I think you can pick up this set usually for around $2000 for everything, give or take a little.
hahaha gotta find me some fat bitches. Problem solved. I don't mind the gap at all, there's really not much for me to be worried about. Especially when I daily the car all year round..
Nah, I'm good. Doesn't look that bad in person. Plus this car really can't afford to go any lower. I'm not about that lowlife. I daily this thing, and our winters get a little crazy up here in Canada.

Do you think a 18x9.5 wheel with +35 offset would fit the stock sti suspension?
Amplified don’t do it. You’ll rub like crazy back and front. Good chance you’ll dent your fender with the wheel in the rear if you hit big enough bump.
Mike Turner hmm, so +38 would be the way to go then
What was the offset on the wheels? It looks Awesome
72merouane 38. In description
Gloss black ?
Are those wheels good for the track?
you should ride the sea to sky with me :) i'm from White Rock, 17' wrx limited black on black
Sounds fun, but I don't make it out that way very often.
looks great !
Any spacers/adjustments needed for the fit? Nice car (have the same)!
Any rubbing at all??
anyone know if the 265 rub if you drop 1"
Do you have any rubbing issue ?
What comoany did you buy the window rain shields frim?
Kyle Couture those are factory Subaru deflectors.
Did it affect your tire pressure sensor?
I'm not much for aftermarket stuff but damn... those are are wicked wheels. you've a perfect set up on your car! everything you've done so far just works well!
excellent job!
Thank you man! Much appreciated. The video and pictures don't even do it justice.. in person is a whole new level! I love it
Nice car man!!!!👍👍👍
Thanks man!
what wheels do these replicate?

I don't believe there are any differences but I was wondering if you knew.
i have the exact same question. did you ever find an answer or did you just lower yours?
beautiful
Stock right height?
will this look good on a 2019 legacy? or fit
...different wheel and tire sizes altogether. Legacys run a much taller tire than wrx/STi so your speedo would be way off.
Did you lower your car? if so how much is the drop
Jessica Mercadejas nope stock height
What is the offset
Same wheels i got for my Camry haha
Stock suspension?
Yes stock suspension minus the after market sway bars.
looks bomb af. was there any rubbing with this setup?
Is this stock height? I love the look!
Stock height yep! Thanks , me too!
How much for rims and tires
I can't tell you my price.. I got a really good deal on the wheels. They were a black friday sale. But I think you can pick up this set usually for around $2000 for everything, give or take a little.
Nice car m8
are those all season tires?
no they are ultra high performance summer tires
Mike Turner I put these tires on my Mustang and " WOW " , they really work good .
Looks sweet. Stock suspension?
Thanks! Yep, stock suspension.
perfect wheel setup, i dont mind the wheel gap, but what if u get some phat bitches in the backseat? the gap in the back looks too close
hahaha gotta find me some fat bitches. Problem solved.
I don't mind the gap at all, there's really not much for me to be worried about. Especially when I daily the car all year round..
Indy 500s^
that wheel gap tho
Beautiful but you need to lower that shit you can see the gaps like crazy
Nah, I'm good. Doesn't look that bad in person. Plus this car really can't afford to go any lower. I'm not about that lowlife. I daily this thing, and our winters get a little crazy up here in Canada.
