Long time Cardo user here, and considering upgrading from Packtalk Bold to Packtalk edge. The big question I can't find an answer to is the number of bluetooth devices it can remember. Phone is always paired as device 1, and the bike's dash as device 2. Until now, the Cardo unit can only store ONE device in each slot. What if you have multiple motorcycles? Can the Edge store multiple profiles in a device 2 slot, or do I still need to re-pair the Cardo unit every time I use a different bike? Also, Cardo *really* needs to sell the additional helmet mount kit WITH the 40mm JBL speakers.
It only allows me to choose a single bluetooth connection. Or phone or motorcycle. Therefore, I connect only to the motorcycle and cannot use the application. I hope they can fix it.
Hi Brad. How do I manage to pair the phone and the motorcycle at the same time. When I pair the motocycle, in motocycle mode, the edge disconnects from the phone. I have bmw 850gs ang samsung s22 ultra. Best regards
@@cmelochick Thanks Chris. They responded to me from Cardosystem. It is a compatibility problem between my bmw and the cardo. They should do an update to fix the problem.
In the edge did Cardo get ride of the low volume delay when using the CB on the new Goldwing, if Cardo corrects that it would be the perfect unit.I would order it right now if that problem is corrected. The very cheapest sena units does not have that delay. Can be a safety hazard when trying to warn a rider of a problem or debris in the road.
How many intercoms can be connected together via universal connectivity for the packtalk edge? Some of my mates have different comms brands and I would love if atleast a few of us can still connect together
You are saying that it is waterproof but it's not what I experienced with my Cardo Packtalk... My Packtalk doesn't last more than 20 min. I have it checked by a supposed Cardo Support in Brazil and he said that water came thru the unit and the board was oxidated... Is CARDO going to help me with this problem???
I bought one from the manufacturer's site; I think I got a dud. After 1hour it said battery low, but the next day it seemed like the battery lasted just as long as my fellow riders (on bold's). I could not join any of my friends groups, not via the app nor the device itself. Only when I created my own group they could all join. The second day it seemed like the microphone was cutting out (my friends thought I was angry at them), this got worse and worse. Now I can hear my friends, but after a minute or two, sometimes 5 and other times after 10minutes, my microphone seems to cut out. I installed the latest firmware, reset to factory settings, attached another microphone,tested a voice call,... nothing helps and the thing just don't work. So all my friends will NOT update to the edge, they do not see the benefit and just saw how bad the 'new' product failed us. The device says: 'assembled in Ukraine', is that the case for all packtalks? (I'm located in Belgium btw)
Too comolicated getting 2 cardo units connected. I've spent more than 30 minutes trying to get my Freecom 4+ connected to my girlfriend's Cardo Spirit. Followig what's mentioned in the pocket didn't help at all. Tried severall times until they eventually paired. I still can't understand how the fuck did they connect to each other. Does someone have any idea??
Warranty is a joke with this company. Have a issue with Boom Mic on brand new Packtalk Bold Black and it seems that they do not want to replace it. Should not be this hard to do with the poor design of the mic connection. Who thought it would be a good idea to change the mic connection from a solid connection like what was on earlier models to a two pin (fragile) connection should be fired or at least flogged a few times. Mine came bent and did not go into the hole instead it bent flat. If the would have used a jack and plug combination would have been more solid and less prone to issues. Looks like I need to go to the competition. 3 year warranty but yet will not warranty your bad design on a new purchase.

Just trying to confirm, is there a difference in the sound quality of the 4x vs the edge. The guy in the video said it has new audio processing and three new profiles. If I have the JBL mm upgrades will I get the same sound quality. I don't care about any of the other features only music quality and loudness.
Cardo Edge is a huge disappointment. Edge cannot join a DMC intercom group created with a Cardo Packtalk like Bold. The only way to connect with other Packtalk units is if the Edge user creates the group. The DMC2 is a total failure since many people still ride with Bold and other older units, if there is a Bold in the intercom group Edge will still use DMC1 to communicate. Cardo is marketing Edge as fully compatible with all DMC products. I would certainly not call this fully compatible, maybe semi compatible. Cardo support says this is the way it is supposed to work and does not seem to be bothered. Unless Cardo fixes this major problem I am selling my Edge and getting a used Bold instead.
My cardo edge does not allow to simultaneously connect moto bmw (on mode motocycle) and samsung s22 (on mode phone one). There is a bluetooth conflict. Edge updated to the latest version. The technical service does not respond.
Do you need cell service for this to work? I sled a lot and looking into bikes. All my family out in country with no service. This would be a deal breaker for me. Please let me know will determined my purchases
I just got my PT Edge it is my 1st cardo product I am also a subscriber of Dan Dan the fireman and he really is an EXCELLENT sales guy for your products. He really made it very easy to justify the cost and he really made it an easy buy knowing I didn't waste my money. I tried to use his coupon code, but your Credit card service DID NOT like my card, and I don't use PayPal. I ended up purchasing it from Amazon with that same card. I look forward to trying it out looks and feels premium and the installation is super easy! My HJC already had speaker pockets and wire channels, so it was really easy to get them in the right spot.
Pretty much came to the same conclusion through Dan Dan the Fireman. I also picked up the PT Edge as my first unit on a Shoei RF1400 and those JBLs are 🤌 *chefs kiss, amazing.
hi.... i ride a GS1250, everything needs to go trough the TFT. The volume for phone calls are really low for me to listen but ok for those who's receiving the calls. Is there any specific setting to solve this issue? Tks
I'll tried a lot to connect my Edge on a group that a friend with Bold is the admin but it doesn't enter the group. The only way to put Bold and Edge to participate at the same group is if the Edge will be the admin?
Why cant the edge join an already created group with bold units? what happens when you want to create a group and there's 2 Edge units? there's no option to join a group in the app when you connect to an edge you can only create a group??
Do not believe the hype!!!, this is an extremely complicated system and you'll need 5-10minutes each time you turn it on or off or if you get on or off your bike to "get connected", the app has consistently not connected to the helmet device.
Cardo HD . The sound of music is awful, it's l ever herd. Cummunicatipn is all right but Cardo should work and work really hard on quality of music perfoance-at this point it is real crap.
hi I really need help. I've had my 4x for a little over a month i think and i tried to use the microphone for calls and the live intercom but no one can hear me. I don't know what the problem could be because when I say hey siri she pops up. I'm really stuck and i need to know if anyone here knows how to fix it. Again the voice commands seem to work but when being on a call or on the intercom I can hear them but they cant hear me
I bought the packtalk edge specifically to share music and the music sharing doesnt work at all. Major buyer's remorse and the units are getting returned!
Hi, my wife and I are going to buy a pack talk bold duo set for when we are out riding (bike each). My question is if I were to buy a set of Cardo Spirit or similar could we use this for our occasional pillion riders to talk with us as well? Thanks.

Can any of the Cardo systems support music while using coms? What I mean is this, can you listen to music and when someone speaks to you, the music fades down during conversation and then resumes when talking has stopped.
I currently use the corded system on my ‘14 Spyder RTL with Nolan open face helmets. The upper cords connect to the speakers and mic through a hole drilled through the side of the helmets. Can I use the “stick on” mount to cover the holes or is there another solution other than a piece of duct tape😁. Prolly will get PTB or Edge if a solution to this problem is available. TIA Phil

Yes you can, but your edge has to be the one to create the group. The bolds and others can not connect with edge if they create the group. Hopefully a firmware update will fix it, but it is not a big issue
I ride alone and have no friends. So the Spirit was perfect for me.
This was me in 2020. In here in 2024 cause i finally got on discord. Found friends and need to upgrade. Lol

Junk! Paid 1,000$ for two and can't use them because the charging ports came out and this is the second set they have sent us.

What would be considered the better speakers? The 45mm jbl speakers you get with the packtalk black or the new speakers with the edge?

The 45 mm are by far the better ones. I removed the standard speakers which came with the edge as they were just not good.

Yes. 2X can pair with up-to one other headset for intercom (it's max intercom size is 2 participants)
