    These How It's Made videos are positively fascinating. Thanks Much for posting 'em!

    We really need a super slow motion for the pressing stage, that puck of aluminium becomes a bottle instantly!

    I have the exact bottle that’s made in this video with the gorilla prints on, my mom bought it for me before I can remember and I still use it every day.

    I used my first one for 4 years. I noticed the liner where the cap threaded in started to crumble. I sadly went to get a new bottle and bought the new Active Top. Wish I didn't wait so long. Technology on the tops are awesome. My old one sits untouched. Love these things. My old bottle is in this video at the end. The one all the way to the left. I drink a lot more when I have a Sigg for some reason.

    Only bad thing about it is that it dents easily, and the design on it eventually fades/gets scratched. Otherwise, these are aaaaaahfreakingmazing. :)

    I didn't realize they were water bottles. I used the Sigg bottles for Coleman fuel.

    polymer lining inside the bottle=chemicals will slowly leak chemicals over time into the water

      The same thing i was thinking. This is not a metallic water bottle anymore... it is a plastic bottle in a metallic shell.!!

      @@user-uj4ip2pt6h So is your pop cans too. Better than getting aluminum "taste" in your mouth right?

    i had a project on how to make a water bottle strange topic i liked it:)

    These are much lighter than hydro flask since there aluminum not steel, also they have a pressed in thread for the cap instead of formed thread

    • @rickytorres9089
      @rickytorres9089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also it's literally just a bottle, not a "thermos" like those "fancier" bottles.

      Aluminum bottles kind of suck because they require a plastic liner inside, which ends up degrading over time (and guess where that plastic ends up!) The liner is required because aluminum reacts with some drinks, and some studies have shown that long term exposure to aluminum has detrimental health implications. If weight is an issue for you, go with titanium, otherwise, steel or glass are the best options.

      That’s interesting aluminum reacts with certain drinks. To be fair plastic water bottles are everywhere so compared to plastic bottles they seem to be better in my eyes. Titanium seems to be the answer to a lot of ultra light concerns but it’s much more expensive

    This is a plastic bottle encased in a metallic shell. The plastic is in contact with your drink.

    • @rickytorres9089
      @rickytorres9089 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not like aluminum cans are any better. They are made the same way with the "plastic" right onto the aluminum to prevent the corrosion and same "aluminum favor" from forming.

    • @RoverTheDog1
      @RoverTheDog1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rickytorres9089 Exactly, you want a plastic liner preventing contact with the aluminium not bare aluminium on liquid.

    • @dsp4392
      @dsp4392 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@rickytorres9089 The difference being that you use an aluminum can only once, whereas those bottles are meant to be used again and again. Over time the plastic liner breaks down and you end up ingesting it. In reality, neither is ideal. The best bottles are made from stainless steel, glass or titanium.

    Active Top: its not gonna work for carbonated drinks, even if you leaf it in the car while sunshine :-(
    Further you alway have to lock and unlock for drinking, that nerves in case you forget to lock.
    The cleaning is like to handle spare parts….
    Sorry guys for this price it´s to complicated and not solving the handling easily...

    Really wish they showed how stainless steel or titanium bottles are made. These lined aluminum bottles are kind of garbage. Not durable and you end up consuming a significant amount of that polymer coating over time. Yay microplastics!
