I wanted to highlight how submissions are really important in a match. when you go for submissions, they make your opponents moves weaker and slower if you attack their limbs. This also makes matches longer too, because their attacks do less damage, and you will notice they lose stamina quicker and have to breathe as a result. I love how this game is strategic and makes you have to think. An amazing breakdown on your end, just wanted to highlight that about submissions.
I've been looking at fire pro wrestling clips for a while and still trying to learn since 2023 at least. I'm playing it now since games today aren't as challenging as much for me than Fire Pro is
Nice. Fire Pro gives you a good challenge at first on even the lowest difficulty level. As you get better you can increase the difficulty. Stick with it. It's a great game/series.
@@ArachnidSoul Great video. More people gonna learn how this game was intended to be played. When you start with striking you will witness many rarely seen animations like various strike blocks and dodges. Later in the match opponent will fall from a single landed strike, so that should be the time to use grapple strikes more often. Mixing in grappling in the beginning is great as well for variety, and to perform rest holds and various submissions like you did in the video. By initiating grappling you can try to do strong move to prompt counter animations. Irish whipping your opponents into the ropes or corner for more counter animations. You can activate Test of Strength that way early. Mid match is when you start doing more powerful grappling, avalanche moves, top rope dives, etc. Most players forget about pins and subs and do them after Finishing move or Signature most of the time. One thing you forgot to show is the spots to gift initiative back to AI and let them work on you for a little. Every good match needs solid back and forth. Gameplay justification is that they will comeback with appropriate stronger moves later in the match. Vast majority of players spam front grappling way too much and fail to create interesting spots, sequences and match psychology or logic. Your vid inspired me to upload mini-guide covering the same theme on my channel. Hope you don't mind me saying it here.
Good on you for being able to use the left stick well. As mentioned in this video, I always use the D-Pad, even though I use the left stick in every other game.
Hello Arachnid Soul, was really surprised to find someone who actually knows how to play. I play on level 7, anything after that the game just starts reversing everything. Doesn't matter the wrestler (well maybe some won't work) but I just put combos together without having to lock up. Plus the amount of energy it takes to beat the game from level 8-10, lol. Lately been mastering the CAW part of the game. There are still parts of the game that are backwards, you know it got lost in the translation. That Bairman Stamp, that move is broken, use that move as a Finisher and you will always win, heck just use as a Signature move and it's completely devastating. Trying to convince a Livestreamer I watch and his friend who also Livestreams to play FPWW, but so far no luck. Plus I keep telling them crap like, I will physically destroy you and will even take you both on at the same time, then I give them the evil laugh, 👹 Maw-hahaha !! Can't imagine why they don't want to learn the game 🎮. Honestly I would embarrass them, they would be puddy in my hands. If they ever play FPWW, will let you know. Who knows maybe you and I can show them how it is really done 😉. Thanks for the video you have a wonderful day!
Thanks. I've been playing Fire Pro for years across many games. Just start on one difficulty and take a slow. Focus on getting the time of the moves right, and you'll be set from there to progress into everything else.
Nice. That's good to hear. It's a great game and I hope both the tutorial about reversals and the match breakdown help you have great matches. Thanks for leaving a comment.
You want to do a big grapple, so they get up groggy and ready to get hit with your corner to center move. They also have to be beaten enough, and down in the center of the ring. Then walk to either of the turnbuckles on the side of the ring and push the circle button (PlayStation)/B button(Xbox).
I'm in the fence about buying it, so is square the only stack button, can you tell me what button does what, main complaint i hear is it's too difficult
100% buy it. You'll never get a longer game life out of a wrestling game in your life. The game is not difficult, people just don't bother to give it enough time to learn it. I've taught people the basics of the game in 10 minutes, to where they could win matches. This is the most basic way I can break down the face buttons... Square by itself of along with any button on the D pad are your weak grapples (so that's 5 grapples). X alone or with any direction are your medium grapples. Circle alone or with any direction are you strong grapples. Square and X together is your strongest grapple (your finisher if your wrestler uses a standing finisher). You start with weak grapples. When you wear down your opponent a bit, you can then use weak or medium grapples. When you wear them down a bit more, you can use weak, medium, or strong grapples. Once you wear them down even more, you can use weak, medium, strong grapples as well as the combo grapple of square and X, which is your strongest grapple. All of these same rules apply to grapples from behind. On the mat at the opponents head or feet you can press X to do a medium strikes or grapples (depending on the wrestlers moveset). You can also press circle to do strong strikes or grapples. If the wrestler is face up these will trigger different moves, then if the wrestler is face down. There are no weak grapples on the mat so square doesnt do mat grapples. If you look at the controller you basically start with grapples on the left side of the face buttons and slowly work down and to the right side to do the strong stuff. If you button mash in grapples (like many people do) you will lose nearly every grapple. The whole trick is to input one move command and let it play out. Also start on CPU 1 difficulty, and just have fun there. When it gets easy, go up to CPU 2 difficulty. It's up to you. The lower the CPU difficulty, the more time you have to input the command of your move. If you buy this game, you'll kick yourself for nearly not buying it, and nearly missing out. If you want me to give you some basic training on this game, feel free to friend me on Steam @ ArachnidSoul. Just let me know who you are, when I accept. I hope you get the game :)
@@ArachnidSoul wow, you sold it well. That don't sound complicated just got to wear down the opponent. Fine with that, I'll try it, thank you!!! Thanks for taking the time to break it down

Great Demonstration. However, you lost every MMA Guard/Mount position. It seems impossible to win Guard/Mount positions against a CPU opponent at difficulty level 8 and over.
Thanks for the comment. I haven't payed much attention to the MMA stuff in Fire Pro games, so I'm never shocked to lose in the guard/mount position. I've known people who played the MMA mode a lot on these games, and they can win the different grapples even on lvl 8. So you can get there, but you would really have to want it, and put the practice in. Again, I don't speak from 1st hand knowledge.

I feel the best way to kick out and control when you do is to mash the face buttons. If you can kick out, you will. If your wrestler is just done, all the button mashing will not save him/her.
@@tay_tayyyyeditz You can hold X to kick out, but you lose your ability to kick out when you want to that way. It just becomes an auto kick out when and if the game lets you kick out. I don't do it that way because I like the control of kicking out at the exact second I want to.
@@ArachnidSoul ahh okay! i did not know it was auto, so thanks for that :) i love the way you simmed this match, btw when you get taken down (single leg) how do you reverse?
To grab objects, first hold towards any of the ropes and Square/X. Then stand next to the ring on the arena floor and hold towards the ring apron and press Triangle/Y.
My copy has a game breaking glitch. The "master rope moves" tutorial is broken. I've completed it like 20 times now and it just keeps making me do it. Such a disappointing game. Also the ring is insanely tiny, the sprites barely fit in it. Ah well...
I'm sorry to hear your game has issues. The ring is pretty large. If those sprites are all around 6 foot, you would only expect 3 of them to be on the canvas foot to head. If you try that in Fire Pro, you'll get a lot more bodies in there. Anyway maybe try out that AEW game lol
