This game was unique when it first appeared , How many games can you think of that involve digging underground with an air pump as a weapon? Dig Dug is simply one of the best games i ever played and it brings back some fond memories for me. A big reason these old arcade games were such a hit is that they inspired great competition for the high score.
Something is very wrong with the video capture. This is not what the ColecoVision game looks like. The sprites are multicolored. Check out other videos to see how World of Longplays screwed this up.
The character sprites are supposed to flicker at 60hz different colors for each character but since the video is only 30 frames per second then we only see part ot the colors of the characters sprites.

He probably has a bootleg console or has an adapter that plays famicom on the nes

Sorry to take the piss on this one, but whoever is playing the game has about as much finesse as a blind warthog. =(
Atari 5200 version is better.
