I like to learn more about the past and find the root of things before I open my mouth and vomit my ignorant feelings to the world. Thank you for the vid!!

Nice explanation. I had no idea that being segregated in public places like water fountains, etc were laws. I knew people were doing it and, I knew they were racist but, I did not know they were actual laws. I was never taught this in grade school. I only heard about Jim Crow laws in college and still did not know it was inference to minstrel cycles. Found you by doing research on this topic for a project/video as well. New subscriber! Enjoy your content!

This was the US caste system the same way the caste system works in India.

I love the way this is made, but since it seems like you struggle with drawing; which would maybe be prerecorded is that, you make the drawings first and then, clip your video so that the camera angle changes to that side that you are presenting. For example if you were drawing on either paint, you make the drawing on one side, speak and show them, and then move the camera to that frame. Or, maybe you're into the idea of drawing while speaking.
Then I'd suggest using clip studio paint, there is a setting which records you drawing, you could use that. And just speak over the drawing as it time-lapse. Since your audience seems like children I'd recommend using more colors and images in your videos.
I hope you don't find this as a forms of attacking you, i just wanted to point some things out

We hear a lot about this era affecting the south but how did it affect African-Americans living on the west coast particularly during the Golden Age of Hollywood? TY

Interesting question. I have been trying to find sources for the actual laws as in perhaps pdf of them etc to do further research. That would be a good question to be answered!

Pretty good, but ... who was Jim Crow? I'm from Europe and don't know. If I was doing a piece on a subject with a person's name as the title - that's where I would begin. Otherwise, great stuff. Thank you, Ben.

Referring to black people in the US as African American and whites are not referred in accordance with their origins proves that Jim Crow Laws are still out there in other forms, and this is just a simple example.

Which party introduced these laws Democrats or Republicans?

Correction: Jim Crow did not end in 64. The Democrats (not Republicans) kept it alive until 78.
