@@kyotheman69 That’s been overturned by the Ragnarok re-release, who’s Overlord Story, which is coming out soon. Priere did still succumb to darkness in the end. However, before she crossed the point of no return, she came to her senses. She became a “Maiden of Darkness” and as a result was able to turn the otherwise terrible tragedy into a surprisingly sweet finale. She gets her beloved back, everyone she cares about survives, and it’s all and all a decidedly good ending. Priere here is likely from that timeline, as she’s talkative and chipper, even. She simply, as a demon, is truer to her innate desires, which is why she’s so fight happy. EDIT: Excuse me, I’d forgotten some details of this series of Scenarios. She still sounds like she’s from Ragnarok’s Overlord Story, but from the decidedly bad ending, where she lost all of her friends. Either to the machinations of others, or by her own hands in a horrible case of mistaken identity.
Honestly, she seems back to being Tyrannical Priere with this one... =( She was probably closest to her Dark Saint persona on D2. That's my favorite Priere by far...
kind of sad that in each dlc of Disgaea she doesn't talk about her past life in her original game. like i always wonder what happened to the people she used to know in her original world??
LordDinosaur Not really? She definitely talks more here than anywhere else but so does most of the dlc since they're now small chapters rather than a one battle thing.
What I meant was that in the past Disgaea games, she only spoke a few words at a time with a few sentences in Disgaea 4. Though I will admit Priere became more talkative with each new Disgaea game released; I was just surprised she became quite the talker for this game.
I have a funny feeling that every Priere that appears in Disgaea is from a different dimension from the others. Some want to get stronger to protect their worlds, others want to just fight to get stronger, and some just want to slaughter everyone due to falling to darkness. I wonder where the raganrok Priere is right now...
@@bruno17289 Priere's PSP Bad ending is the canon one. Her brother was never effected by the outcome. Criox and her other friend were; they both died. The Priere who is human in D2 -- along with the others -- were picked from fan surveys. Nothing in the D2 DLC character set is canon.
+Ryusuta It has always been a really mixed bag. Adell was terribly directed (and it was the direction. He was voiced by Zelos Wilder ffs. Shilo Strong can deliver!) while Rozalin was great. Valvatorez was amazing. I love Seraphina and Christo but Killia and Void are really underwhelming.
Honestly, I thought Adell was pretty good in Disgaea 2, but I definitely agree with your point. That being said, vocal changes like... every single one in Prinny 2 for the PSP... have been questionable at best. I don't know if I've seen them improve on a voice actor with a second one.
Hm. You know watching it again, at first I thought Prier was just talking about her original world but I think she had a Netherworld, and it got destroyed and she lost. It makes more sense with the "I sought power to get everything I had. I didn't want to lose anything more." Under the context of her original story, makes no sense but if she had a Netherworld it does. ...Explains a lot actually. Her current attitude, and even why some versions of her decided to completely fuck it and go after the deep end with only caring about power. On a aside, this skit makes me Really wish there was a Disgaea game centered around her being the main char, even though I know it'll never happen.
There is a ending of La Pucelle where Prier obtain the title Dark Saint and in fact she say to father Salad : " I may become a Overlord but my heart isn't fall in to the darkness " and this phrase let me think that at the end the fan have prefer the bad ending for Prier in Disgaea game but the true ending, at least for me , is when Prier become the Dark Saint , fought demons and save the friends because efectively Prier isn't become a Overlord because is a demon or evil but because is so strong that isn't normal for a human 🤣 in added she has still the light inside his heart
That was cute and all, but... ...is Priere's world dead? Like I've seen the Ragnarok extra that sort of explained Demon Priere so that should have eventually led into stuff like this and she could have meant the "lolno I just wanted a reason" but...are they all dead? Is there some lore we're missing here? Oh god that's horrifying.
@@big_weenie1447 The one where Croix died is the canon ending and fits with what she's saying here, along with the stories about her in the other Disgaea games.
i don't think so. the world the game takes place in is the marl kingdom line of games, such as a musical adventure. Marjoly's castle appeared in disgaea 2 where she was sealed so the land of veldime that disgaea 2 takes place in might be her world sometime after the events of La Pucelle.
