    Appreciate this, we'll be staying here and I like this simple straight forward video.

    I really appreciate your honest review! We booked our stay, and then chose to cancel. The reviews I’ve seen are either great or terrible… But the terrible don’t seem worth the risk.

      We just stayed at the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn which is the closest hotel to the Disneyland entrance maybe about 2-3 weeks ago (video is up) and it was great.
      Nothing fantastic for a hotel, but the proximity to the Disneyland entrance was the best part after a long day and returning to the room at 11 PM at night.
      And the Howard Johnson is one of our favorites for their splash pad for the kids.

    Was there one Christmas (few days before Xmas) and Santa walked past in the lobby and said "Merry Christmas!"

      That sounds fun. Doesn’t usually happen at hotels. Lol.

    I have stayed at the Grand Legacy at the Park for many years. It has changed a lot throughout the years. They used to have breakfast but they removed it. The rooms on the outside part of the hotel are not as nice. I feel since they reopened they increased prices so on our last two trips we have stayed at the Howard Johnson & loved it!!

      We haven’t been to HoJo in 2 years, but our stay is booked for September, so I’m excited!
      The kids are going to have a blast at the mini water park.

    I like the Grand Legacy. Stayed there a couple of times. Was going to stay there in December but they are booked. Howard & Johnson is my second choice.

      It’s been 2 years since I’ve been to the HoJo but based on my memory HoJo > Grand Legacy
      Our favorite is Candy Cane, but considering that it doesn’t have a water park, if some sort of water play is desirable, then HoJo wins there too.
      We’d like to try the Courtyard by Marriott I think. I’m pretty sure that’s the one with adult water slides in their water park.
      That will have to be yet another future trip.

      @@SoCalDisneyDad I like Candy Cane Inn too. I saw you can reserve but I'm afraid they won't be ready for December. And it would be nice to see what it looks like. The new upgrades.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@lisabostrack24 You should probably be fine for December unless they delay again. Which I suppose is possible. They’ve already pushed the opening date twice.
      But it will probably be our next hotel after HoJo.
      We don’t have any more trips on the books yet, but still have the standard 3-day ticket we bought before they came out with the California resident ticket.
      We hoped they would refund that original ticket, but no dice. 😕

    The Wyndham is my absolute favorite staycation spot. Just a little more walking 🚶‍♂️ and admit that there’s not anything for kids to do, but it’s super clean, bright, modern and lots of food choices in and around the area. Parking is free.

    I just actually watched this vlog. I stayed there last February and they were good. They had snack bags for your breakfast by the pool. It was just water bottle a granola bar and fruit. Covid must of stopped that. My friend was able to park her vehicle for a fee. And hair dryer was in closet top shelf. Customer service was good. I think you pay for the location. And now that I watched your vlog. They have lost my business. Hojo for my trip. I think. If I knew 100% that Candy Cane Inn would be ready to open. By December I would book them. Plus they have the shuttle for free too. Which I loved.

    Thanks for the honest review! I feel like they are relying too much on how close they are, i wish Disney could buy these properties! I have heard great things about the Anaheim hotel, hopefully you can check them out one day!

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Candy Cane Inn is still and I think will always be my favorite Good Neighbor Hotel. I just wish it would reopen. It's still in renovation, and last I heard they aren't even sure if they'll be open by the end of the year (initially had planned for August).
      I'll put the Anaheim Hotel on our list.
      I wish Disney had some value or moderate resorts in Disneyland. But I bet they have some sort of non-compete agreement with the city of Anaheim.

      One of these days we'll get back to Knott's. Not sure when. We want our oldest to at least be safely 48 inches, and then my wife was hoping her parents would come with us since it was the park they always took her to as a kid. And I don't know when they'll be up to going again.
      We may just have to go on our own, but I don't know when that will be.

    Sorry you had a bad experience, I definitely appreciate your review.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With taxes, the Grand Legacy was $305ish, Candy Cane used to be around $250ish, and the Howard Johnson, which I just booked was also about $305, though the last time I stayed there I was pretty sure I booked it for $175.
      Granted, these are weekend prices.
      Weekday prices will probably be better.
      I also paid an extra $60 for a park view at the HoJo because I want to see if you have a decent view of fireworks.

    • @SoCalDisneyDad
      @SoCalDisneyDad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We also booked the Fairfield for about $175 back in March, but the park wasn’t open yet. So I imagine prices have probably gone up?
      That review is the only other Anaheim hotel I’ve done on the channel so far.
      Will slowly get to try different places as we go.
