Dubare elephant camp is a stunning Elephant camp in Karnataka, near the hill station Coorg. It is situated on the banks of the River Cauvery and surrounded by lush forests.
The Distance:
From Mysuru - 97 KMs, which takes about 2 hours to drive from Mysore.
From Bengaluru - 240 KMs, approximately a 4-hour drive from Bangalore.
If you choose to take the Bangalore Mysore expressway, please note that there will be toll charges amounting to around Rs.320/-.
There is a stay option at Jungle Lodges and Resorts here. To reach the resort area, you will have an exciting boat ride across the river.
We opted for a 1 Day package which included all three meals - lunch, dinner, and breakfast for the next day.
In terms of activities,
they organize Jeep safaris into the dense forest where you can catch glimpses of wild elephants.
Early in the morning, they also arrange nature walks near the camp for those who are interested.
One of the highlights here is witnessing elephants bathing in the morning. Visitors are allowed to join in and spend quality time with these magnificent creatures.
