I like both books, but I read them as trades when they come out from the library. I don't collect the floppies. I also LOVE Nightwing. Tim Drake Robin goes as Red Robin that's why the RR. I would start with Batman if I were you. But I do think Detective has great stories too. Great covers, brother.
Oh, the RR makes sense now. Hard to keep up with all the Robins over the years lol. Thank you for your input, looking forward to starting all those books!
Gonna say absolutely start with the New 52 Batman run if you haven't read it yet! If you already did, then the Tom King Batman run is another good place to start. I would say that the majority of Detective Comics over the last 12 years or so hasn't been great, but the recent run by Ram V is absolutely worth checking out in my opinion.
Thanks for the suggestion! Yes, I did indeed read all the new 52, it was fantastic in my opinion! I think I am leaning BM with all that runs positive feedback I received! 😁🦇🦇
The Court of Owls was like, just as good as Year 1 for me. I was really shocked; I did not expect such a great story line. I used to think only Marvel could pull those off! 😉
I "kind of" understand why some people like Batwoman, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin(s), Batdog, etc. But I just can't get into them for some reason. I'm glad they have their fans, but growing up, I just didn't care for even Robin.... Must of been the little green speedos. LOL
Silver coins were neat. I have the Rebirth in collected editions and I enjoyed both series. I didn’t like the crossover story which I think was Night of Monster Men. Detective really started out as a Bat family title, as you feared.
Noooooooo!! LOL! I am not like many people who love Batperson this and Batperson that. When I was little, I even disliked Robin. I find that I am always fondest of the how characters were exactly the way when I first started reading them. As you know, Batman 251 was the first BM book I bought, and he was all by Himself! And, to this day, that's still the way I like him. I guess you can say I'm a "One man's man"! 😅
The redhead is Batwoman! The brought her back in the early 2000s as basically a new character . I personally prefer the Rebirth Detective over the Rebirth Batman.
There are a lot of varying opinions. That might be a good sign that both books have their own bright spots; excited to start reading for sure. Thank you for your input brother!
Thanks brother, that is the way I am currently leaning for sure. The Court of Owls and the whole New 52 I already have. I actually read them as they came out back when the New 52 started. I was actually blown away; it was one of the best BM runs I have ever read in my opinion. Have a great night CC!
Sorry, I have not read any of these comics so I am useless. Problems with a family or multiple versions of a character: Every version lessens the original.
That is true. I wish there was Only 1 Spider-Man. His powers were so different from any other hero I read, now there are like 50 of them. When I see things like Spider Gwen, Spider Aunt May (lol), etc.... I just get sick to my stomach. I know some people just love that kind of stuff though.... Now I know why the old book "Batman family" was doing so well.

You liked a few of the covers. See how many covers you like from the same run and go with that one you'll run into that artist again probably.
Sounds like a plan Steve, I might just do it that way! 🤗
Detective starts better, but Batman gets better the longer the run goes.
Great info Matt! I would have thought it was the other way around, if I had to guess! Appreciate the suggestion!
Happy Veterans Day. Thank you for your service. Some really great Batman covers. I want to read the Court of Owl run, I hear its amazing.
Court of Owls was one of the best concepts introduced in the last 15 years.

The current Batwoman is the character Kate Kane. She is former West Point Academy cadet and Batman's cousin.

@@SonOfCrom-1932I totally understand that. They took a very lonesome brooding character and made him a brooding family man!
@@garagegeek4863 Exactly! Hard to get my "brooding man" fix, when there are so many "happy days" characters running around! LOL

The i am suicide has Bane, and santa prisca is his island. Read the court of owls when you get the chance. I would start with Batman.

I’m pretty sure Gladys the Girl Marvel grew up to be Batwoman
LOL, Best comment ever! Way to tie in the child from the 60's to the modern books! Very clever!
