    Great video. Had the pleasure of racing against Marijn in Australia back in 2015 in a national Rotax series. Looking at this footage is easy to see why he's a world champion.

      I agree that he has a steady hand, but his line just before zone 4 could be better. In fact in more than one place on the track he doesn't use as much of the width as he should.

      @@AtotehZ In a kz2 shifter you will not drive the typical race line as the other non shifter karting classes do. That is because being able to align your kart straight after taking the corner in the fastest way possible will benefit you as you can start accelerating much sooner out of the corner. Kz2 has insane acceleration and becuase of that driving more narrow in certain parts of the track will save you time.

    • @AtotehZ
      @AtotehZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@drewsson That is not what I'm referring to. There are many times where his line is atrocious. Had he placed the kart better he would've been able to power out sooner, not later.

      @drewsson 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AtotehZ Right my bad, I can see what you mean if you are talking about the first few laps. I was talking about the lap where he made the fast time. He is not going full out the first couple of laps, just warming up the tires / engine for the fast lap.

    • @AtotehZ
      @AtotehZ 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@drewsson dunno why i didnt notice that.. the only thing i have a problem with on his last lap is that he doesnt go tighter in the next to last corner so he could get through the last corner faster.

      Best bet would be to go to your local track and discuss with the team and see who can offer you the best options for your level, ambitions and budget. If you follow our facebook page and website, you can figure out the names of the top brands and teams that are racing in the top competitions, but you might want to start somewhere more local.

    Hey, is that a BirelArt chassis, how do you like it? Thinking of buying one for my Super Shifter engine.
    Do you ever use that switch on the steering wheel?

    • @R3RS2024

      birel art is the best chassis in my opinion for KZ, speaking from personal experiance, ive driven pretty much all chassis brands and Birel ART is simple and so good in braking zones and you have more grip on the rear then lets say an OTK cause even the Junior chassis was designed for KZ, the switch on the wheel is the fuel return tap to adjust carburation in a session

      I’ve just bought the S12 Birel KZ , it’s really nice, really good finished, nice contrast between the red and black, I’m in the process of building everything.
      I already had a Birel DD2 2018, my only complaint about it is the brakes, I wish the brakes were a bit more aggressive, I used to have an Intrepid chassis and the brakes on that one were very aggressive, maybe a bit too much, as soon as you stepped on the brake it stops! The Birel is a lot more progressive but it feels really good, easy to steer.
      Thanks for writing back 🙏

      we're not sure what you're asking about? This is a factory BirelART racing kart at the FIA Karting World Championship.
      If you're interested to try a racing kart, the best would be to approach a racing team or distributor at the local track in your area and take it from there!

      "...nobody seems to know" because, well, you have to build one yourself! Buy the kart, then buy the engine, and then buy everything else. Or, buy a used one that is already set up with everything you need. Simple! Team "works" karts are indeed rare and they don't just give them away. Occasionally one might come up for sale but I wouldn't wait around for that to happen. lol
