That's always the case, regardless of how well the competitor's game eventually does. Competition is the key. THQ was scared of War Zone when Revenge was on the way. Then they played War Zone after it came out and that fear went away. We only got the Inferno Matche in SVR, after years of them saying it wasn't possible, because TNA Impact was announced. Action Arcade Wrestling had cross-platform community creations before WWE 2K added it. If you really check out 2K24, you'll find, like, ~15 features inspired by WWF No Mercy and its spiritual successor AEW Fight Forever. Mostly small things like the font of the ring out counts, throwable weapons, variety, and the addition of weapons. Looking at it side-by-side, it's there. They're also still adding stuff from Patrick Gilmore's spreadsheet as well.
They gonna shove the "better than ever before" My Faction Mode down every offrice they can find and call it a Fan Favorite. Not planning on getting it so far. Since my Gamesafe got nuked, im practically back @ square one with the previous Game. (and i am NOT looking forward to replay My Story)
so virtual basement tweeted out its still being worked on just some personal reasons came up but at least there still developing it but im wondering when we are getting the dragging mechanic finally?
@@maineventstryzer what do you think of 2k waiting for virtual basement to come out with there game first before they implement the ability to add the dragging submission moves or unlocking more moves to use and in different varaitions maybe double sharpshooter double ankle lock etc
My theory about creation suite is that if 2k improve it then we might not need the persona cards or DLC models which is clearly a revenue stream for them.

Extremely when trying to create Manga Characters. 😅)
The creation mode definitely needs an overhaul. It’s like every year they have the same things save for about 30 or so new items that the wrestlers wear on TV. I want them to add a bunch of unique and possibly weird items because it’s hard to make new characters when you exhausted all the decent items two years ago and there hasn’t been anything new and fun since.

I don’t mind as long as it’s good. I would like to see more face animations and muscle tense when lifting . A bit of physics and rag doll . Where on ps5 now and the game on ps4 or ps5 there’s not a great deal of difference. As for gameplay I prefer simulation over Arcady fast paced button mashing . I want genuine wrestling game.
Man, this whole talk of "City" free mode has gotten so out of hand, if it isn't included, I might skip this year's game. Granted, it's been years since I ever thought about the concept of an MMORPG wrestling game, even in 2025, IMO we still don't have the technology to make such a game. I also think a "City" mode in WWE 2K would be an incredible shit show once people who "play to win" interact with people who "just want to work entertaining matches" who in turn, interact with "cheaters" who just want to mod chaos into the world, and the few who just pay real world money for their 99 rated build, and still find a way to completely suck at the game. And I thought the "politics" at my local Shitty Indie wrestling show was bad...
Welll me personally I'm actually happy that WWE 2K got some competition that's just going to make 2K get more better over time so grabbing a few features from the up-and-coming games is pretty fine with me. But I'm going to say this when upw come out it's a wrap since I'm going to be on that game more than 2K

Aew was not "more fun" according to most people who played both. you've already mentioned you like arcade-y wrestling without much thought to the deeper mechanics. so hopefully they will make you happy too. but 2k seems to just being adding more stuff in all areas. thanks

yeah Stryzer 2k did and is copying aew fight forever like wwe2k24 and up coming wwe2k25 putting those modes and weapons etc... in the game.
