brilliant juan. thank you.
That is an absolutely god tier thumbnail. The king always delivers. Un saludo desde latinoamerica!
Gracias guapo 😘
ALWAYS wet your brushes before touching any paints.👈
Oh the inuendo lol 😂😂
He quedado marcado por la miniatura del video que sale en TH-cam. Fuera coñas, muy buen video y muy contento de haberte conocido en las Freak
Oh boy that thumbnail 😅
My boi mentioned capillary action! 20:12 such an important thing to mention when teaching brush care. Capillary action can destroy a brush and can shoot paint into the ferrule
YES
Biggest brush killer by far
10/10 hilarious and informative. Thank you!
Thanks
Thank you for the Video Lord Hidalgo! even this "Boring"-Basics are so important for me as a newbie Painter! :) thank you!
Happy to help a fellow ally!
you are not a newbie - you are a suburb, painter that has, just started learning.
I’m glad someone finally said the truth about artist opus brushes. Way overpriced and not all they’re cracked up to be. I own several and never use them. Classic hobby gouging
"Do synthetic brushes dream of electric sable?" 😂 I have to drop a comment just thank you for that (on top of giving us another great informative video). Well played, sir!
Any thoughts on davinci brushes? I've heard good things
Things I learned I’ve been doing wrong for the past 2 years from watching this:
Storing brushes upright
Not washing new brushes
Not washing brushes before starting a session, dipping dry brushes into paint
Using paper towels on dry brushes
Poorly washing dry brushes
Not cleaning brush soap off brushes before starting
Buying artist opus brushes
My hero ❤
I'm so happy you're using your dry brush on the wet pallette! I've been doing it for a while now and people call me mad! But it works. You just have to be careful its not too wet.
I see Jaun upload, I watch. Now to learn more about brush care as I have some nice brushes I am scared of using but I recently got brush care products to start. And of course to learn if size does truly matter. Love the title lol
I love the artify drybrush set , i definitely recommend them over the expensive artis opus set.
Yes, It matters. Now explain me why It matters or not in brushes 😂
Lets gooo. Like and subscribe
Compulsive like!
I love brushes. I have tried most of those brands. In my experience Opus was decent but I think they have suffered from
Quality Control. Last batch I received about year ago 1 out of 3 was good other ones couldn’t hold a point. Loved Broken toad so sad they left the business. Series 7 I need to buy it in person other wise is a dice roll. Same with few of the other brands. What I am using right now is Monument Hobbies brushes and they have been working great for me. Now for Dry Brushes Monument have them but I still prefer Opus. So for Dry brushing i am stuck with Opus. But as I type this. I’m ordering some of the Artify. I’m going to try them out. Thank you for the video always nice to pick the brain of people doing what you love doing.
Thanks
Damn, Juan is casually dropping the best comprehensive brush tutorial out of the blue
Thanks!
Rosemary vs artis opus pricing depends where you live, for me rosemary is too expensive unless I buy like 20 at once lol
Yeah, Brexit sucks man
Tell us the truth ! The citadel artificer brush in your "old brushes box" is brand new :p
Far from the truth! It was my favourite brush for a long time when I didn't knew better
I do like your drybrushes. I used the affiliate link back in the day
Thanks
Where can I get copies of the thumbnail? 🤭
That's content exclusive for my Only fans
Your thumbnail have been on fire dude
Thanks
Hello juan
You should have kept the music playing until you put the brush in the plastic piece
Please tell me what diffuser you use for the two black lamps in the background!
Lol, wet palette paper
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thank you for this Tipp and the good brush Video!
I've been painting with Synthetics for 3 years, and I actually find it hard to switch to natural brushes. I have a couple of Raphaels and they feel too soft to me, no resistance at all. They just flatten on the miniature as soon as I touch it...
Which synthetics do you use? I’m trying to switch from sables after going vegan and I’ve found that contrary to what Juan says there’s a big difference between cheap synthetics and more expensive ones
@@GeoffreyPeas I buy a pack of 60 brushes from A (can't type full name because TH-cam doesn't like it). I use Tshaoun fine detail brushes. I actually don't agree that they're all the same - I bought some really crappy ones in art stores before. I also use ZKSM 9-piece detail brush set - the one that comes with 000-0 sizes, 3x each. These hold great tip and are good for fine detail. )
I would also love to know which ones you use. And for how long (hours) you can use them before the tip deforms. I use Escoda Perla synthetic brushes and they are pretty good. They are about €5 each, so not the cheapest ones. But after an hour or 5 of painting, the tip does not hold. I do use them for everything though, so I might want to start having dedicated ones for details and don't use those for anything else.
Fellow vegan here, i like Forte Synthetics by Da Vinci as my "allday brushes", Colineo by them are much more expansive, so i use them on special occasions :D cheap synthetics by Amazon from China are risky, sometimes the brush tip dies quickly or they are losing hair.
@@GeoffreyPeas I was trying to reply but youtube keeps deleting my replies. So I can't help you. Every time I type in product name it deletes everything it seems

This is not meant as an insult, but the cringy/pervy humor of your videos diminishes their value to me as a viewer. I think your painting tutorials are incredible, and I've learned a lot from many videos. I just wish you'd focus solely on that instead of cheapening your videos with humor that feels very out of place. I imagine I'm in the minority here, but just sharing honest feedback as I value your talent and tutorials.
I would say yeah you are in the minority as a lot of channels do this in the painting space, even out of the painting space. Heck one I never thought would do it was a super professional TV/Monitor Channel called HDTVtest. He is always doing wife jokes and sex jokes throughout an otherwise very professional review. That said nothing wrong in not liking it and expressing that in the comments, after all that's what they are there for.
I second this sentiment. Its too much at times.
Good call. I am not really bothered by it because I ignore it, but I agree the videos would be at least equally valuable without those jokes.
Thanks for the feedback!
Sometimes my sense of humour can be a double edge sword.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Okay I have taken a bit more though about it. That and your reply may have catalysed an appreciation of your humor on my side.
