So I had some new filming gear on this trip, and I still have some things to learn! My apologies for the few spots with audio/lighting/focus issues - I'll keep working on it!
Now my question for you - Have you been to Nürnberg before? If so, what do you think of the city? What did we miss on this trip that we can do next time we're in the city?

you can visit the lochgefängnis, which is a prison from the middle ages, where ppl were tortured back then. It's very interesting

@@scce2221 I'm not sure the kids would be ready for it, but it does sound like an interesting place to visit!

I'm surprised, that you also brought your little kids to the Dokumentationszentrum. How was the visit for them? Not to dark? As you said, for you it's a very good place and almost a must to go.
And the other Nürnberg points were as good as the food ... I can read from your eyes that you enjoyed the Schäufele very much.
So my tips were quite helpful?

Yes, your tips were great, thank you! As far as the documentation center goes for the kids, the older ones were able to take it in and appreciate the weight of it. For the younger ones, it allowed us to have some important conversations about history and humanity. Will they grasp it all? Not yet. But I think it's important to begin to expose them to these things and have those conversations.

Very well done footage. However I was really impressed of you speaking German when you ordered 3 in a weggle. Didn't know about how good you already are. 👍🏻

Thanks! My German is not nearly good enough yet, but I'm trying. I need to get in an actual course to really take it to the next level.

Lived in Nürnberg for two years more decades back than I care to count. Enjoyed the footage. Nice to see familiar scenes and a few changes. Beautiful quintessential German city. Loved the food.

Thanks for watching! It's a great city to visit, and I bet it's also great to live there. Although like many German cities I'm sure it's changed a lot over the last few decades!

I highly recommend a day trip to Prague! ...by Train!
You can go by ICE or Saxonia Express (RE50) to Dresden and change to the EuroCity to Prague.
You will pass the beautiful and scenic Sächsische Schweiz. Prague is wonderful!

    • @OnwardMJ
      @OnwardMJ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Prague is definitely on our (very long) list of places to go! I didn't think about passing through the Sächsische Schweiz on the way...we'll have to make sure we have a good window seat!

@@OnwardMJ You can go by car to Dresden too. Then jump in the EuroCity to Prague. Driving through the Sächsische Schweiz and Böhmische Schweiz by train is the best way! It takes 2 hours from Dresden to Prague. The train drives along the Elbe river! It's such a beauty! =)

You should check out southern bavaria, the alps too or the Bodensee (lake constance) for a couple of days. Or a trip to northern italy. A lot of germans go to the Gardasee (Lake Garda). These places have like insane natural beauty.

We are definitely looking forward to checking out more places! Hopefully this spring and summer we can check off some more amazing places!
