Never used the HS7. Currently, the Hs8's are my primary monitors, though the LP6's with a sub are quickly becoming my favorite. I would assume that the HS7's are like the 8's - They probably have a slight advantage over the LP6's, but are nearly double the price. Do you think the slight advantage is worth the extra 400 dollars? Thats up to your budget.

I think it depends more on your budget. You can get good results out of both. But the Yamaha's are nearly double the cost.
The hs7 and LP6 are the same price in my country
