Yesterday, the national arts council, Creative Australia, presented its landmark report into the state of Australia’s music festivals - and it’s not good news. Over a third of Australian music festivals lost money last year, losing almost $800,000 on average. The cost of putting on a festival has rapidly increased, its harder to get insurance, and people are buying tickets closer to the time of the festival.
