- Today we will do a thrift store makeover of a derpy dragon. Materials used for this craft are Polymer clay, solar color dust airbrush (which I LOVE. Feel free to use coupon code Nerdecrafter. Not sponsored, not affiliated). and Liquitex airbrush paints. I love using airbrush paints for all my DIY projects and art craft challenges because they make painting SO fun and they have a light gloss finish. I know Moriah Elizabeth has her own series of thrift store makeover. We both started it at the same time unknowingly.

Suggestion: I would have extended the front legs and have them been crossed in front of him.
Totally love how the dragon turned out, at the same time though, missed opportunity to make a seal/dragon hybrid. I know seals have this rep of being all cute and stuff, but they're also some pretty hardcore predators.
I would have made the tiny wings a hump, and given him Ginormous wings coming out the sides. :D

I love this customization from thrift to treasure. :) I like the colors you picked and I would have added the one tooth on each side like you did. The front feet do look a little off still but I love how the final product came out nonetheless. Congrats to the winners.

The baking gods were being merciful because they knew that the "derpgon" would be hard to fix and decided to not mess with Jackie for once.

@Ciara Moore well this comment is 11 months ago when I’ve first started watching Moriah Elizabeth after binge watching all of her videos. I didn’t know her schedule so when I’ve saw this video I clicked on it without seeing who posted it thinking it was Moriah, but it wasn’t so yeah. Wait a second? In Medicine Hat there’s a place called Paint Of Interest where you can paint sculptures and that’s one of the sculptures you can make there
That's really neat, I did a google image search for Paint of Interest and found the exact sculpture on the 7th image. Good find =D

We've got a place called "Color me mine"
My mom painted one of these, exact same sculpture, and it is sitting on my shelf among my other dragons being its derpy self
It was so strange though I knew I recognized the figure in the thumbnail!
I was picturing long, flowy wings that dropped down over the back feet and hid them.
I love your dragon! ❤ My first choices would have been: snake eyes, fangs and I like the feet you made. For the paint I would have used muted colours in green, purple and maybe some brown. Probably because I could only think of a granny-dragon after you said it. 😁
The final product of the dragon looks like Spyro with a rainbow look. Which is cool.

How pretty. This is fantastic. I love her far off gaze. I think making your dragon look more wizened works with the eyes you gave. Also yes to fangs. Always fangs

This is probably my favorite sculpture of yours. It's cool to see you grow as an artist. I wouldn't have chosen that blue though. It kind of cheapens the design...or at least it could use a bit more shading around the limbs. It's a huge improvement both on the sculpture itself and previous work. Well done!

With the front feet I would have tried to do a pose like the Sphinx and extend the front legs forward. But that may not turn out well.i don’t know I have no skills with clay or sculpting.

I do believe that thining your acrylic paints down who do a lot for you! Not as thin as for the aero, but still pretty thin: you might need several coats, but no more brush strokes ^^

Was Hestia concerned about baking polymer clay? Polymers weren't a thing when she was big in religion. It seems that Hephaestus, the Greek god of sculptors would be the better choice for this. But it's pretty clear Jackie isn't trying to be religious, just silly.

Hmm as someone who likes Greek/Roman mythology I guess she’d have to ask them both... I admit when I was in school definitely wondered some things like how you end up with a god or goddess who’s responsible for multiple things (some that aren’t related to one another) I’ll say Hephaestus sounded cool to me I’m Christian but I loved mythology just cause they were really interesting stories. the gods of Evermore didn’t bother me I just think Jackie like I worked so hard on this I don’t want it to mess up on a step where I have very little control... maybe you can but I’m not a sculptor but as a fellow artist I can relate the feeling of not wanting something you worked really hard on ruined because obviously paper and pencils lots of things can go wrong
Easy flipper solution: water dragon. Make the spikes into a fan since you already have the chin flap and fan on top.
