  • This video demonstrates how to detect an interaction effects in ANOVA using SPSS profile plots. An interaction effect represents the simultaneous effect of multiple independent variables on a single dependent variable.

    I appreciate you showing the graphs to look at the ANOVA tests. I did not know you could do that, it seems like that is a much better method then looking at all the data. You can easily see the points that stand out.

    This video was very interesting. The graphs were helpful and interesting as well. I'm a visual learner so I always like when there are visuals like that to learn from.

    In a different version of SPSS that I used to have, the default profile plot was a bar chart with error bars, but version 24 produces a line graph like the one shown in your video. Do you know if there a way to change the line graph to a bar chart and to add error bars to it? Also, thanks for this video!

    Hi :) thank you very much for your helpfull videos!! i have a question about second figure. i could not be sure if it is ordinal or disordinal... Because in my figure one group is crossing worh other 2 groups but these two groups are not crossing with each other but they are getting closer to each other. What my interpretation should be? Ordinal, disordinal or shoul i interpret seperately? :/

    I can't figure out how you know what goes on the horizontal and vertical. Is it because the are the two headings (program and status)? I like that it analyzes everything for you, but I worry I won't know which one to put in each category.

      Usually the independent variable is on the x-axis and the dependent variable (i.e. the thing you are studying; an effect) is on the y-axis.

    When I am tryinng to add Data in SPSS, it is not taking Text like (0-5 cm, 5-15, 15-30 cm).. SPSS only accepts in numerical,
    first you show the Excel worksheet, how you feed this data in SPSS..Otherwise this is seems to be useless.
